1. The EGT maximum temperature has been adjusted and increased slightly. The custom supercharger mixture logic introduced in v0.1.7 had a bug that has now been fixed. This update also improves the overall realism of the turbo mixture behavior, and during testing we found it to closely match other high-quality products on the market that use custom supercharger logic. We are releasing this update so our testers and customers can help test it at the same time, and we look forward to your feedback.

I took a quick look on discord, but I don't see anything about a SimBrief profile (i know it's early days, but...).

Anyone have a lead or should I take a stab at it myself?

The Flysimware Lancair Legacy for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been updated to version 0.1.9! ✈️

This update includes several beta improvements covering fuel flow tuning, lighting adjustments, and default simulator binding support.

✅ Turbocharged fuel flow tuning updated.

✅ Aspirated fuel flow tuning updated.

✅ Dim lighting brightness improved.

✅ Panel lighting controls expanded.

✅ Battery switch now supports default simulator bindings.

These fuel flow numbers are now closer to the correct targets, but they are not final and will likely receive one more fine-tuning pass for improved accuracy.

If you own the Flysimware Lancair Legacy, simply run the Flysimware Updater and check for updates.

I finally got a chance to spend some time with 0.1.8, and it flies like a completely different (MUCH better) aircraft!

I still think the actual unstick at takeoff is somewhat ubrupt, and it still feels somewhat flippy in pitch, but I have to spend more time with it. The GOOD news is everything is vastly improved and it’s a genuinely become a pleasure to fly.

I was working on one but it wasn't working very well argh. I've never made a SB profile before either.

IIRC, no. FSW have said the turbo spooling whine isn’t apparent enough to justify a dedicated sound set.

That may be true given the unmuffled engine…?

I’ve had a few turbo cars, and even rode an old turbo sport bike, and I sure do love the turbo spooling sounds! But those were, of course, all properly muffled, so…

Interesting. It was certainly noticeable in the RealAir version, which I would guess given RealAir’s quality was prototypical.

Flight dynamics and stall behaviour have been fine-tuned.

Takeoff handling is now more realistic, with left yaw under power requiring right rudder correction. Below roughly 30 knots, a small amount of right toe brake may also be needed. Welcome to the Lancair Legacy!

Recommended elevator control sensitivity settings have been added for a more realistic stick feel.

Windshield defrost logic has been added.

G3X, GTN 750, and G5 display glass flicker has been fixed.

Several bugs and audio issues have been fixed.

edit - make sure you also update the installer to 0.2.1 - the whole process is much quicker now.

To anyone else, Flysimware has now released the paint kit for the legacy. I hope to see a few more paints from others! Surprisingly you can paint this in 2d (Photoshop/GIMP/Affinity etc).

Looking forward to the analog deck, then I can really start to enjoy this machine as nature intended 😉

Another few laps around the pattern for me.

Very noticeable improvements to the handling. Much easier to smoothly control the aircraft.

The runway stickiness on Vlof seems to be mostly and perhaps entirely gone. It’s easier to hold rotation and let it fly itself off.

I’m using the diff brakes version and didn’t need to touch either on takeoff. Pretty stiff breezes here as usual, so that probably helped.

Much easier to judge the ground effect and flare for smoother landings.

For my control setup, a TM Warthog, the pitch response still seems a bit too snappy. But again, definitely improved. And TBH, that’s the case with many MSFS addons, and is easily fixed with some pitch axis de-saturation.

P.s: I absolutely LOVE the speed brakes on an aircraft like this! I guess they’re technically spoilers, too, but they look like brakes to me 😎
