Bought the plane last night, just before the sleep (14 hours ago), and did a short 10 minute flight just to get a taste of it. I think I tested 0.1.4, since 0.1.5 was out like 8-9 hours ago. Nevertheless, for that short test, I loved it. I took turbo version for a pattern, and the engine behaved a lot different than in Aerobask version. The only thing that was a bit off, was that "sticky" rotation on TO. I hated that in P3D and FSX. COWS and A2A have that smooth takeoff feel that I believe, will be introduced here in the Legacy too.

I have one question - does the addon simulate hypoxia effect? For example if we don't seal the cockpit, and fly 12k+ feet? I like the wind sounds of the unsealed cockpit though. :)

I'm not someone who ever flies a single plane repeatedly. Even some of my favourites, like the A2A Comanche and BS Bonanza, I'll enjoy a flight with them then move to something else.

But I'm on around 10 back to back flights with the Legacy now. That is with 0.1.4. I'm about to load up and fly 0.1.5 and can't wait to see how it's improved furthermore.

I think your N14CL or N508DB would be great for it. Could optionally recolor the burgundy parts of the livery to blue or something if you'd like to distinguish it as a fictional one.

The blue version of N508DB is N550AW which is included in the default install. Thankfully the textures aren't super complicated on these so anyone with a little Ms paint experience or gimp/affinity/Photoshop could change a reg to their own

FSW Legacy is the clear favourite for me. I wouldn't have said that about the release version, but from version 0.1.4 and the current 0.1.5 so much has been improved (most notably the flight dynamics and engine instruments) and it's a fantastic product now.

I must qualify though that, although the FSR300E is fantastic, I'm just not in a jets mood at present and that's the only reason it's not pulling me in at the moment. The Phenom also has some 'reversed control switch' bugs that I'm finding really frustrating. There's a lot of potential there though. I bought it because I'm an addict and should probably have waited, until the jet bug came back.

The Falco is a lovely little 'stock' style aircraft that is probably the nicest to hand fly for me. But it's not in the same league as the Phenom or the Legacy, in terms of features and custom options.

Haha, yeah, unfortunately, that "little experience" is a huge wall. Never even heard of "affinity." 😛

Although I actually can't say whether the actual graphical-text editing part is hard, because I've never gotten that far. Every time I've looked into editing liveries, I've ended up stuck at the "how do you deal with KTX2 files" step. My most recent failed attempt ended with me staring at the message "VK_FORMAT_BC7_UNORM_BLOCK not supported" from the umpteenth KTX2 conversion tool I tried downloading. The tutorials are written with assumptions of knowledge I don't have and it's like I'm trying to fake my way into a secret wizard council. 🧙

For me it’s all about the flight model, I’m forever chasing that somewhat elusive feeling of real flight in the sim.

I doubt very much that an Xbox controller will improve the sense of real flight, compared to a decent joystick or yoke. The available axes movement is tiny and low resolution, compared to the range of movement from a good quality joystick.

They're good for manipulating views, but for flight controls? 😐 Each to their own.

Just bought this but I’ve got blank avionics, standby, PFD , anything LCD basically, apart from my TDS750 .

Is this a known conflict with the Phenom or something?

Thanks Ryan, I started on the runway with the engine running so I think everything should be turned on by default. I did flick the switches but nothing came on… so I took off and did a circuit anyway!

Turned the PC off for tonight so I’ll see what happens tomorrow, other than that if felt nice in the air.
