They had put in a plan for a spare aircraft to be on hand should it need to go to MMMX. I ribbed him this morning saying that wont be needed now and Virgin can quite eaasily now bring them back again from NY when we bring it home on the 19/20th.

Several hundreds of millions around the world. It’s the world’s most popular sport. Looks like you’ll be streaming Netflix for the next five weeks.

Well, it didn't work at all: US 1-4 Belgium. The best reply from an UEFA team 😎

What a game! I’ve seen plenty of England games over the decades and this was up there with the very best. Great performances from all our players with a special call-out to Bellingham, Gordon and Pickford. I didn’t think we could survive the last 40+ minutes down to 10. That was a masterclass in defending.

I’m sure when Mexicans look at the game in the cold light of day they’ll appreciate they were beaten by the better side but they played really well and were always dangerous.

It was a pain having to wait until 2am for the match to start. Finally got to bed at 4:20 as the sun was about to show itself. A lazy day beckons.

Yes, a very long night but worth it.

Now six days for England - and Norway - to recover before they meet.

Both these teams have had relatively tough paths to the quarter finals. It seems obvious that Norway are going to be no pushover but I'm pretty confident England are going to meet France in the finals now.

Argentina are still dangerous. A lot depends on the heat. Miami will be hot but it’s the same for Norway. England players will know Haaland and how to deal with him. Cutting off the supply is key.

Trump phoned Infantino and some obscure FIFA rule was used to temporarily suspend the suspension. It comes to something when the disgraced Blatter calls it out.

There’s a possibility Belgium will take it to CAS. They’ll need to act quickly. If I wasn’t so knackered I’d love to watch this match.

Well done, England! I only watched the first half and all its three goals (2x Bellingham and the one by Quiñones). And after watching Oasis last year, seeing you celebrate with Wonderwall makes me a bit envious 😉

Sadly true. I'm sure there will be a lot of boos tonight. UEFA is not happy about this, and I guess no one of us either.

In every World Cup there is always one great shock. With 20 minutes to go Egypt are leading the world champions 2-0.

Some bloke called Zico got the second. Throwback to 1982.

The winner of England v Norway plays the winner of this match.
