Second After Citation X

To go alongside your Citation X;

for best overall immersion, enjoyment and (as Ryan said) perhaps the best sounds you'll hear in the sim right now, I'd recommend the Skyward Simulations Sovereign+

Great price too ... fantastic value.

Miami Vice

Pretty much the best TV series ever made.

That Learjet is nice but it’s a real handful to fly circuits with.

Depends on what one is in the mood for. I usually hop in the L35 when I wanna feel like 1980s Attorney Lawrence Thurmond from Miami Vice in his L25A. Nothing beats the sound and brute power of those Garrett TFE731-2 turbofan engines on takeoff.

OK. Now Citing Miami Vice is unfair.

I don't have experience of the Citation X - but as intro to Business jets - I love the Lear 35 - but these last few weeks - because of my use of the Longitude in 2020 - I have enjoyed the new Skywards Sovereign - the big sister of the Longitude

Sovereign is the little sister, IIRC. 🤙

Hello

I never really cared for corporate jets until I picked up the Citation X last weekend. Maybe I'm just falling in love too easily but I am absolutely loving it. Now I'm already looking to add another bizjet and could use some advice. Should I go for the WT Longitude or the Flightfx Piaggio Avanti (not a true jet, but it's fast). Which one do you think has closer quality to Citation X? Thank you.

My advice is to always go for what’s MOST different to what you have. out of your list, that’d be the Piaggio.

I don’t own it or the X, but I do have the Longitude. Very nice HIGHLY automated aircraft. The addon is also SUPER hi Fidelity, of which I’m always a fan (see Nichan’s YouTube video).

It’s what I fly when I’m feeling lazy-ish and don’t want to deal with an airliner (which is most of the time).

Probably the best $20 jet available in the sim.

My personal choice remains the FSW Lear 35. Even tho I love the new Phenom, the Lear has utterly captured my heart.

I have never understood the love the Learjet 35 gets.
To me its not even close to the other ones mentioned here.

It would be a step down from the Citation X . Would not be my choice for a second Bizjet.

I seem to be in the minority however.

I kinda feel the opposite.

The only time I’d want a X over the Lear is IRL. And maybe even then 😎

Great post.......So hear me out here......Been into flightsim since 1999, this past few years Ive been flying The Challenger 650 in XP12 pretty much every day since its release, I absolutley love that aircraft and Im waiting for their next one...as far as Im concerend its theeee best aircraft ever made for flightsim...... end of. But......... in between I've been looking for a business jet in FS20024 to fly regular which gives me the same satisfaction as the Challenger 650.....and I've finally found it in the Flight FFX Piaggio, I have the Phenom, CitationX, Visionjet, Sovereign.......but for me its the Piaggio what is really really floating my boat and its not as deep obviously as the Challenger 650 but the flight model, the sounds are top notch...they really are. I think Flight FFX are doing a Bombardier 350 so Ill prob take that for a spin when its realesed. ....but yes....The Piaggio....very unique aircraft and very modern...loving it! 👍

The LearJet 35 was one of my fav business jets for P3D. I can only imagine that it's even better in MSFS v2024.

MSFS 2024 is my sim choice everyday and twice on Sundays.

I am also loving the Piaggio. I am flying it right now.

This is an amazing time to be a bizjet lover! You already found the C750 (quality of life updates coming Soon TM)

Here's some strong points of further options....

Skyward C680 - superb flight model and soundset (I mean it - the sound is maybe the best for any addon), superb climber, excellent at short fields

FSR Phenom 300E - superb systems depth and unique FBO system, good at short field, good climber into the low 30s

FlightFX Piaggio P180 - nice EFB, flight model, sounds

Flysimware Lear 35 - Excellent soundset, flight model (2024 native), great climb performance

Contrail Falcon 50 - a unique retro experience, especially with a very different avionics suite, relatively speedy flight plan about mach .82 in the 30s

Default 2024 Longitude - fastest of all of these (mmo .84) - in depth systems, beautiful visuals

There is an upcoming iniBuilds Global 6000 as well as the WT/Microsoft Embraer Praetor - both use Pro Line Fusion avionics. I'm HIGHLY awaiting these two bizjets. FlightFX has a few things up their sleeve as well ;) I almost forgot about the upcoming Just Flight Lear 45!

Can you order these from most desirable to least based on your experience/preference?

In what world is the Longitude faster than a X (+) or did that get misunderstood?

The sound of one of these (or the single Starship I ever saw) is quite distinct. Extremely cool aircraft!

btw, what IS Hot Starts next addon? I’m still awaiting their TBM for XP 12…

The Falcon 50 is getting some very good reviews and is something a little different (non Garmin for starters). Take a look at some of the reviews on YT.

Cheers

I mean sure, just purely based on my subjective opinion

1) C680 - mostly because of the astounding short field capability, and the amazing soundset. It's the best I've ever heard in a jet. As I said the flight model is top notch too. It was created by John, one of the QA guys at Working Title. This is independent of WT though, and I believe the QA guys are volunteers. So he doesn't work at WT, but he's a cool guy

2) E55P - Raul pours a ton of love into his products (also a cool guy - I met him at the Expo and he personally introduced me to Jorg!). (The M600 - it seems something happened with the version that was supposed to release on Microsoft's end. I'm certain it will get fixed). But the M500 is another superb example. Anyway the Phenom, really fun to fly, awesome systems, cool FBO stuff, decent sounds, also good at short field. It's a little slower than other jets at mach .78 - climb is slower too at 225 kias or .64 I think. The release version got visually downgraded in favor of console sadly... 2K textures is sad in 2026.

3) Contrail Falcon 50 - it's just got a lot of character. I don't personally love the FMS (GNS-XLS) - I miss my Garmins LOL. Great sounds, the flight model is being improved by a third party right now actually - it's going to be a nice improvement. It's a falcon! Three holes! It's cool

4) I love the Longitude. I did a few paints for it. The sounds are okay-ish. Flight model is solid, systems are pretty deep for being default. Love the G5000! Has the entire part 135 stuff, APU etc, plus it has autothrottle for when I get really lazy haha (The C680 also has that stuff). Wish they'd model the HUD.

5) The FSW Lear 35 - really all of these are pretty close on my "you should own this" list. I love the TDS GTNxi support - super nice to fly this plane in VR (not in SU5 cause SU5 eats VRAM for me argh - no third party addons are safe in VR for me actually). Great sounds imo, I talked to one of the guys who flies this for a living and he said it's pretty close to the real one. Their systems are decently modeled as well. I also enjoyed painting it but I haven't updated all of mine for 2024. It's freaking rocketship on departure... you have to be all over the throttles hehe. I love that!

6) FlightFX did a great job on the P180 - I actually sometimes avoid aircraft with the ProLine 21 because I've had some issues with the FMS not loading procedures at all. I've heard it's a bug even with the default CJ4. And I have experienced it in the CJ4. Not sure if its a navigraph thing, or asobo or what. The P180 is a little lighter on systems, but their prices are totally affordable. It's a super fast turboprop. And the avionics are still modern while not being Garmin lol.

The speed thing was based on that list. He already owned the C750 so I wasn't including that. Technically the MMO of the Falcon 50 is .86 but all the real world guys tell me that's only on a brand new one, and in perfect conditions. It really only does about .82 under regular conditions. The C700 does go all the way to .84 so, aside from the C750, that's the fastest of those I listed.
