Navigraph charts now gets weekly updates

Featured Replies

Hi,

Passing this info along..

I just received an email that Navigraph as part of having an Unlimited subscription you will be able to obtain weekly chart updates.

IMHO this does add some more value to the Navigraph subscription fees albeit I think it depends upon how frequently you fly in the sim.

Cheers,

oh great, more updates.

I spend more time updating things then flying.

Yes I know this is actually good news, but quite frankly I am getting really tired of always updating thing.

Dunno how it works for you, but I get an update Navigraph popup, click OK and like 30 seconds later it's done. No effort on my part and I haven't even had time to start loading the sim.

Not sure. I have to manually update Navigraph for all of my planes. Then I have to update GSX, then I get a BATC update, then a SayIntension update, then a plane update, then another, then another. Then scenery update, then another and another. Then a MSFS update. Then all the freeware updates.I am sure I am forgetting something.

oooff, I think I need a coffey.

Charts are not installed locally, they are fetched via the API e.g. when opening them on the EFB. So all "updates" will happen without you having to do anything or even noticing it frankly

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Happily, while navdata requires manual action to update, charts don't - the Navigraph app automatically loads the current version of each chart from the Internet, without any user action.

I think the free charts that come with MSFS 2024 are continuously updated. Not just one week, but whenever you pull up a chart on the efb it is always the latest one.

Really don't see any value in Navigraph. It seems like pointlessly donating money to a middle-man.

I was gonna say, it takes Navigraph like barely a minute tops to update the modules, but ok your process is a little more involved I see.

Which charts get updated? Surely, they have to align with an AIRAC cycle (which is every 28 days). The IFR ones at least.

I hear what you're saying, but I rather get updates than none at all especially when something not work as should.
