My buddy just sent me a video of the same thing on his sim. Just found a post about it on the forums.. go fly around north east texas and tell me you dont see all the brown fields. They even flicker a little in the distance as they do

Agreed, because of where I do most of my sim flying, I have gone back to 85% MSFS20 usage. Kind of a waste, my only real use for the 24 license is ensuring my sceneries work in that sim...which is a different headache entirely.

Yeah I'm dealing with that right now, vegitation polygons not transferring over and new asobo generated light poles showing up in them with SU6 enabled. Im about tired of dealing with it and ready to stick with 2020.

Aside from the SDK issues, maybe it's just my system (because other people's screenshots are different)...but 24 looks too 'video gamey' to me at times.

I don't know what's going on there, but I have never, ever seen that on my MSFS 2024. I fly almost exclusively VFR, <5000'AGL.

As @DD_Arthur also said he's not seen that artifact, I'd propose it could be a localised problem at your end?

I have to agree. I fly helos low and slow and never seen anything like that in 2024. All I can say is enjoy 2020, but it's just as flawed.

Somewhere in the UK. I do most of my flying in the southern and western US and anywhere there are farm fields and cow pastures its bad

I just watched a recent recording I made of a low level flight over SE England, thinking it would prove you wrong.

There is a 'brown circle' surrounding the aircraft, you can pick green fields in the distance and watch them slowly turn brown as you get closer. It's quite subtle so I've never noticed it before. A warning to others, once you see it you won't be able to unsee it.

I'm running 1440p on a 5090, so my settings are pretty maxed out. Have you tried without any add-ons loaded?

These aren't minor. https://youtu.be/yPptmJGEcOM?is=MjmMJ5JtR0aLlr7d I don't know how this is deemed acceptable by anyone.

This is issue has been there for years (in MSFS2020 as well) only not as dramatic as in that video, I've often seen tiles loading in beneath the aircraft albeit subtly but still very noticeable.

I think the "green fields having a brown mask applied to them when close to the aircraft" issue is actually a case of higher resolution textures being loaded at close range. These textures are loaded in as you move, which is why they seem to "mask" the green textures. For example, the really high resolution Bing photoscenery for some of the UK was taken in a very hot summer, when the ground was brown and scorched. The green fields further out are the slightly lower resolution textures taken at a time when the weather was more normal. I really wish that they would sort that out, as brown and burnt fields everywhere in England is not normal.

It is this summer!

Yes, that is exactly what I see in certain areas of the UK. However, to be fair, I have not seen it in many other areas of Europe. It just illustrates perfectly why we need those "brown and burnt" textures in many parts of southern England and the Midlands to be replaced ASAP.

how about this one

That is absolutely awful. There is no way that I could fly anywhere near anything like that.

It absolutely is not a local problem specific to anyone's PC. You have probably just not noticed it, or not flown in the areas that are affected. Try flying near EGBB Birmingham and EGBE Coventry airports. I am pretty certain that it is noticeable around there.

😄

Have you watched the video he posted? You think I wouldn't notice that?! I was only at Specsavers two weeks ago. Has @DD_Arthur also just "not noticed it ™️?" I can tell you with certainly that whatever is happening there, does not happen for me. 90% of my flights are in the UK, VFR, between 1500' and 5500' (just as IRL).

If you say it's not local then perhaps it's not local. But you're not here looking at my screen and I can assure you, I don't see whatever is happening there, on my screen. If I did I'd find another hobby!
