Would an ordinary game pad work Ralph? At the very least you would have 12 buttons; the "joysticks" would only show as "axis" I guess.

Just whipped the base off to see if there's anything obviously wrong but all looks good. No play, nothing loose and no pots to clean so looks like I'll just have to put up with it. I might try Saitek/Logitech support.

The Windows controller window shows the same thing; deflection markers reach the edges of the box about 2/3 of the stick travel in both X & Y axis. It just seems very strange that pots or sensors don't cover the full stick travel

I recently acquired a Saitek X52 (not the Pro version) throttle and stick and I think I have a problem with the Y axis (elevator) I noticed through FSUIPC that the output values of the elevator axis stop changing about halfway through the stick's travel, i.e. you can move the stick past where it has any effect on the aircraft elevators. Is this normal for an X52? I had an X36 previously and that changed values through the full range of movement.

I use both Ezdok and Trackir Kevin for all the aircraft I fly and find it an ideal combination, however I disable the head movement in ezdok. Ezdok can be a pain to set up but watch the Youtube videos, they should help. Some people favour Chaseplane over Ezdok. Ezdok has started giving me 2 different views when Trackir is paused and "free" (see screenshots) Happens in FSX & FSX Steam Until recently Ezdok worked OK and as far as I know no settings have changed. Middle mouse button is assigned to pause TIR and trueview is disabled in TIR. TIR "free" (un-paused) TIR paused Ezdok 2.1.0.10 TIR v5 Win7 64bit

In the Cherokee sat on runway 09 at Liverpool (EGGP) VAS is 7.6GB Weather theme is Spring and all sliders at ultra. Given how well DTG reduced the VAS footprint in FSX-SE i was surprised to see such a large VAS usage. However there is a lot of scenery around Liverpool, a lot of it far in excess of what's there IRL i5-2500K @4.4 (or 4.6) GTX1060 6GB RAM

Extra information. I have connected my monitor via the HDMI port and the display is OK which suggests the HDMI port and cable are OK so I have no idea why my PC does not recognise my TV nor why I get a black monitor display with just the cursor showing.

I have just replaced my GTX460 with a Palit GTX1060 and cannot get a display on my TV via a HDMI cable. With just my monitor connected via the DVI connector all is fine. If I connect my TV via the HDMI port Nvidia control panel does not detect a second display so I use the "rigorous display" option and restart the PC. My monitor shows the Windows start screen and then goes black with just my cursor showing and my TV tells me there is no source connected to that particular HDMI connector. Can anyone offer any help please?

I bagged the last one Ron and let's just say it was dearer than that recently announced Airbus A320. I was somewhat annoyed at the rather chaotic (or so it seemed) nature of the event. I tried to find out when the PMDG 747 was being offered and was told it would be within the next couple of minutes, it didn't happen. Later I was told it would be during Robert's interview and given a time which turned out to be ET not UTC or BST. I stayed tuned for all of Robert's interview until near the end it was announced that the last key would be auctioned. There were 5 keys on offer but I never heard the other 4 being offered although I did sleep for a few hours during the event. I think it would have been far better to give set times when the big "give aways" would be up for grabs, not everyone can, or wants to, stay up for the whole event. EDIT: I just hope the amount people were willing to pay for the early key doesn't push up the price PMDG will ask for the release produce.

The CIX scenery is free so why not give them a go. I don't have a problem with frame rates and the scenery looks OK. I also have UK2000's VFR scenery.

Another solution is to disable the Steam overlay in FSX in your games list on Steam right click MFS then click Properties from the dropdown list anad untick "Enable the Steam overlay while in-game" If you don't want the Steam overlay to be enabled in any of your Steam games then Steam->settings and untick the enable steam overlay. You can do that by creating a macro in FSUIPC. I don't have the documentation to hand but look at the FSUIPC user guide and the advanced guide, details will be there.

Search VATSIM forums for CPDLC and you will find many references. I haven't read all the posts but this one looks like a working example back in 2009. https://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=40595&p=301542#p301542 It would certainly help with big events such as CtP.

Most AV products by default scan files when they are read, written, changed or executed and good AV products should let you change those settings for individual files, folders or drives via an exclusion option. Like others I use Avast free and have set various exclusions, including the FSX folder. I also have Avast set to silent/gaming mode and notify me when updates are available which means it doesn't automatically download updates and the silent setting means it doesn't notify me about updates. If you set updates to notify you but don't set Avast to silent mode it will pop up a message to tell you updates are available so the silent mode just turns off that pop-up.
