  1. That's a really nice series! I have to try SweetFX now; amazing atmosphere in your shots.
  2. More incredible shots, Niclas. That Spanish terrain looks really good.
  3. Really great screens; looks like a fun addon! We just got a Lightning at our local air museum in the last month, which is a welcome addition. First time I've ever seen one in person, as they didn't make it across the pond too often. http://www.pimaair.org/collection-detail.php?cid=402
  4. I don't know what flavor of PMDG 738 the topic starter has, but the version I have (Aerosoft boxed) comes with a terrific tutorial flight between Hamburg and Munich, which is an essential starting point for understanding how an FMC works in conjunction with the VNAV and LNAV functions. There must be a tutorial flight of some kind available in the manual. Trying to wing it without practicing a tutorial is, in my experience, a very frustrating process for FMC-equipped airliners. And trying to move between Airbus and Boeing designs, as you have done, is even more confusing as they have different approaches for accomplishing the same task. I highly recommend picking one airliner and practicing the tutorial until you can do it from memory. My first complex airliner in FS was the Leonardo Maddog, which is very complex and realistic, but the tutorial flight made learning it feasible, after much practice.
  5. Lovely set! I owned one of those in the 90's, so the sight of all that tan Royalite sure brings back memories! I ditched that boat anchor ARC Nav-Comm right away though, as it was mostly good for ballast and not actual two-way communication.
  6. Jim, I've got almost all of Carenado's offerings for FS9, old and new, and they all work in Win 7 64, which is my operating system also. Their Seneca is very good, but the 337 (and Caravan, 210 and F33) are better yet due to their FSX pedigree. Can't go wrong with any of 'em. I'm holding out hope that they will also port over their recent King Air C90 release, as it looks amazing.
  7. Jim - I recommend the new Carenado Cessna Skymaster, which is a port-over from their FSX version and thus benefits from the latest gauge technology. Even thought it's centerline thrust, and not a conventional GA twin with a prop on each wing, it's a really terrific plane. No 2D panel, so be advised if you prefer those, but the VC's are so good in Carenado's latest offerings that you won't be missing the 2D view for long.
  8. Great series, Stian. Don't see the IL-62 in here too often.
  9. Damn, those are beautiful shots, Stian. Great work.
  10. It's a great scenery, with or without moving traffic. I note that they didn't add any special traffic to the FSX version either; just the stock FSX traffic. I also just learned that one must download AES 2.25 again in order to add the new OMDB, as Olivier just published a corrected AES installer yesterday.
  11. Nice acro work. That's definitely an aircraft that requires your undivided attention!
  12. Stunning shots. If DCS really comes out with the long-wished-for Super Hornet add-on, I'll have to get back into combat sims......
  13. All kinds of good news this week in Flightsim world! Thanks for the notice, Ed.
  14. Fantastic shots again, Niclas, and of course your custom panel is a work of art.
  15. Agree completely. FS9 will never look as sharp as FSX in most instances, but the differences aren't enough to matter for me at this point. As a tubeliner guy who dabbles in GA flying, FS9 fits the bill just fine, and still inspires the "wow" factor on occasion, despite its age.
  16. Looks fantastic, and will definitely buy when released. Amazing talent at DD.
  17. Love the clouds in your sunset shot, Niclas. Looks pretty real to me!
  18. Looks like Bruce has to get another type rating...outstanding!
  19. Great atmosphere in the panel shot, Ed...now to watch the video! :clapping:
  20. Quite a contrast in landscapes! Great stuff as always, Niclas.
  21. Thanks, Dillon. Looks like another winner from Carenado for the "Old Sim".
  22. My experience lately with FSX Gold pretty much mirrors yours, Bill. It's hard to walk away from FS9 at this point, as beautifully as it runs on my new PC. I'd like FSX better after some improved texture and landclass addons, no doubt, but I can't quite bring myself to make the investment at this point.
