  1. Nice but useless for our 777 right now. Looking at the pictures it calculates performance for the 777-200ER GE90-90B engines. Well, our 777-200LR has GE90-115BL engines, much more powerful. Maybe it will be useful later...
  2. This is the FSX Rain/Snow Effect and a well known bug. Once you fly through rain or snow, it will stick to your plane. Nothing you can do about it besides disabling the whole effect.
  3. BAck to the original Topic. I also notoced the effect at some FTX airports, including PAJN and PAKT. It seems that not all runway lights are invisible, just the ones in the closest vicinity. Looking down the runway i can see lights further away, but whenever i get closer they vanish.
  4. It was already hinted that you can search for airlines at Flightaware. But you can search also for aircraft types. Just enter the ICAO code and of you go..... Here is the example for the ERJ145 (E145) http://flightaware.com/live/aircrafttype/E145 The results are, of course, only in the US.
  5. A famous push-in is Dortmund EDLW. I also think on major airports with tight gates especially for heavies there is a short push, or better pull-in for the last few feet. I think KLAX is one of them if i am not mistaken. Push-in starts at around 5:55
  6. Typo or hint? "The PMDG 777-200ER Expansion Package spares no detail with incredibly accurate cockpit displays, a full-featured flight management system, highly accurate LNAV/VNAV and auto-thrust modes, precise and realistic ground and satellite approach navigation capability, dozens upon dozens of optional pieces of equipment with which you can customize your 777 cockpit and literally hundreds of potential mechanical failure scenarios that you can activate to challenge your flying skills and your airplane knowledge." Let the rumour spread.....
  7. Not possible. You have either fsx acceleration OR SP2, both together doesn't work. Accerleration aready includes SP1 and SP2.
  8. Looking at Flightaware it seems to be a 747 http://flightaware.com/live/flight/KLM785/history/20131103/0740Z/EHAM/TNCM
  9. Is the photopack1 also available from a server other than flightsim.com?. Even being registered at FS i get really bad download rates and the 1,2GB file would take about 7-8h to download. Why not Avsim or something else? Thanks.
  10. Not sure what you mean. The progress page gives you an estimate for arrival (of course with the expected approach procedure and Runway acivated). Just type that into the Ref Page and you got your Vref.
  11. Check QRH 7.17 (Engine In-Flight Relight) for teh correct procedure.
  12. I did that route just yesterday. PFPX said it would be 15:42h and it took me 15:40h (i got an visual approach...) and the fuel burn was within 100kg (!) of the calculated amount. AMazing combination of two awesome products! http://www.vataware.com/flight.cfm?id=12534144 btw, here an pilot of EK in a presentation about polar ops and what to do for preparation: Have fun!
  13. Well, if you google a bit you will see how many people are falling for this story. One media source started it and now it's all over including many useless debates about how "dangerous" flying is. Was it an an incident worth looking into - yes, and they did. But no need to exaggerate it. The system (in this case the TCAS) worked and both crews seemed to have learned from the Bodensee-tragedy and followed the RA. ANd i didn't want to sound rude... sorry for that.
  14. Please guys, dont just repeat the trash the media is telling you. Let me quote the report: "As to the risk, because B747(1) had B747(2) in sight as it was turning towards it, and both ac reacted to TCAS RAs thereby establishing standard vertical separation by a horizontal distance of 2.8nm, the Board opined that there was no risk of a collision" http://www.airproxboard.org.uk/docs/423/20130911-2013.09Reports.pdf (starting page 61) The usual media histeria, dont fall for it ^_^ btw: the VERTICAL distance was 100ft, the actual distance in between the two was much, much more....
  15. I dont have it, but it is actually pretty simple. 3k - 3000ft MSL.... 146 @ 21 - Wind from a direction of 146 degrees (the arrow above is a graphical illustration of the direction), 21kts 11.4 - Temperature 11.4 Celsius

    Fuel temp question

Descending into warmer air. Especially on polar routes this is sometimes the case. Speeding up may also help, but there is not much room for it...

    Fuel Dump Simulated?

The ECL has actually a fully QRH in it, you have to go to the non-normal section, there should be something like "fuel" (im not "in" 777 right now) and then you can access the "fuel dump" (better fuel jettison as it is called) checklist - it will even check if you operate the switches correctly. Btw, fuel dumping is really not a science, it's actually rather easy and when you have found the fuel dumping panel the buttos are quite self explanatory. Just try it - it is a simulator, nothing will happen if you do something "wrong" edit: i just checked the documents: go to: Non-normal menu/unannuciated checklists/fuel jettison and follow teh steps (also in the QRH 12.14) In the FCOM the panel is described under 12.10.3

    Fuel Dump Simulated?

again. there is a specific Non-normal checklist for fuel dumping in the ECL which describes the process step by step. We really couldn't do more...

  20. Just to clarify, that was me and that is what support told me: "FBW in general is being completely reworked based on some extensive data provided by our Pilot Group and from the Sim Video detailing the actual operation of items that can't be done easily in the real aircraft. Watch for an update with the SP1 update that should improve things dramatically." Thank you for making it clear and official. Anyhow, im looking forward to the changes an to your continuing support.. kind regards.
  21. We need some information. OS System (32/64bit) LOD Texture Resulotion Autogen Traffic Photoreal Scenery etc etc Be sure to have the process explorer running with the virtual size column showing, then you can always check how close you are to the ultimate limit.
  22. I was told by Support that the Autotrim/Trim System on the 777X is completely rewritten right now so you shouldn't try to cope with/get used to it right now too much. At the moment, there is actually no manual trimming necessary (except for TO of course) - just keep the pitch you want and the Autotrim will do the rest - might not be realistic but that is how it works for now....
  23. We can sureley argue about what is a "soft"/"hard" landing, but i think we can agree that the following was TOO hard...: http://avherald.com/h?article=43bb2a4b/0000&opt=0 TD-Rate: 1200fpm (on a A332!) Still amazing what the undercarriage is able to withstand [even though with some damage]
  24. If you fly offline you can do what ever you want. Flying online however is a different story....
  25. And i want a Ferrari 458..... Sorry but i get kind of tired of all those "i want this" and "PMDG must do that...."-threads. I think they know very well what aircraft they want to to next and don't need customer advice. And if not they would just ask us......
