This really bugs me. Also, When I set up custom views the zoom also changes. I would love a fix or solution for this weird behavior.

So I downloaded this plane. I love the look and the cockpit. Unfortunately , when I give it full throttle, it only goes to 1500 RPM. I tried different planes and they all react normally. I tried re-calibrating the throttle axis and that didn't help either. I messed with the fuel tanks and mixture...no joy. Even in the video in the above post the rpm's are 1500. Is it supposed to be this way? Any idea what's going on? I would love to fly this plane but it's unusable if I can't get full throttle. Thanks for any suggestions. EDIT...REF file says 1500rpm's sure seems low

Carenado Mooney M20R - is it really pretty good

I like the new jagged liveries as well...they’re completely different. -
Hype Performance Group - Airbus H135 Helicopter
mikegrr replied to HPG's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
So I tried it, found the fadec button, but it didn’t work. When I pressed the button, the throttle did move, but I could not control it. In the external view I cannot see the throttle try to move, but then it goes back to full. Even then it still doesn’t give full power. It’s like something is interfering and the controls are fighting each other. I only have keyboard bindings for propeller control. -

Ooooo, didn’t know that. I’ll try it! Never saw that hotspot. ‘thanks. -

I tried throttle binding to axis 1 and later propeller binding to axis1 both ways to be clear. I did not do both at the same time. All other planes work fine. -

Sorry but I can't get the throttle or propeller to function. I am using a T1600 joystick. I tried mapping throttle to axis 1 and propeller to axis 1...neither one worked. It was working a few versions ago. What is the proper setup to get it working? -
Bonanza Turbo mod not working?

I emptied out my community folder..now it works. It appears that the WTg1000 works also. Thanks -
Bonanza Turbo mod not working?
mikegrr replied to mikegrr's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Hmmm...I wonder why it didn't work? Is there a new update to the WTg1000? -
I don't know if this has already been addressed, but the A36 turbo mod doesn't work for me since the update. The external view is ok, but the internal view is just a skeleton of the plane. Anyone have any info on this?

I'm having trouble with a similar problem. I mapped the throttle axis to the propeller controls, but it seems extremely sensitive when just taking off. Just a slight move of the slider gives a big jump and conversely just a little move of the slider easing the propeller causes a fast drop. Is there a gauge that indicates how much propeller or rpm is being used? This would be a big help.

Just Flight Piper Arrow III Preview
mikegrr replied to CFIJose's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
As regards following the magenta line, I believe the JF Arrow can be fitted with a gn530 gps, which, if it is the same as in the sim, definitely has somewhat advanced capabilities as you all know. I don't know if early PA28's even had this more modern gps...I guess they could be retrofitted. BTW, I still don't understand why planes are fitted with dual 430 gps's. In most cases they don't talk to each other and the 430's capabilities are limited anyway. I can only assume redundancy in case one breaks, and that seems overkill in a small GA plane. And, if they have a more advanced gps, like the g1000 or 530, they only have one anyway. If you're buying a small GA plane on the cheap, why pay for 2 gps's? -
Carenado Arrow goes on sale...
mikegrr replied to Chock's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Hard to understand the intense feelings. The Carenado Mooney is generally highly reviewed and regarded and 95% of the systems work (as in all MSFS planes) and the flight model seems fine. ‘I think one needs to take each new plane and evaluate it separately. ‘I do like that the JF arrow has 3 different Gps’s to choose from. -
Flaps hotfix (1.13.17.0) is now live!
mikegrr replied to ChaoticBeauty's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
So now all the mods I adjusted have to be changed back? Like the Bonanza Turbo or the DA62? -
[FREEWARE] Flight recorder and Replay app.

Wow. totally does everything I could ask for. I found a few video glitches but nothing that I wouldn't expect in any recording software. Now I can watch my landings! Great tool. -
What should happen when a GA plane deploys flaps?
mikegrr replied to mikegrr's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I don't believe that holding the yoke back aids in braking in MFS. I've tried it and it seems to have no effect in the 172 or any other MSFS plane. My pilot friends are very strong about saving their brakes, but not a factor in the sim. -
With all the discussion of the floating issue and flaps, I started thinking about how the sim handles flap deployment in single engine planes. I think in a high wing plane, the nose should lift. How pronounced should this be? I tried the 152 after modifying the flaps setting and the nose did lift. Does this happen with the 172? This is what happens in XP, but it seems extreme in XP...very pronounced. What should happen in a low wing plane? I tried the Bonanza and the Mooney. The attitude of the plane seemed to stay the same, but I did notice a loss of altitude. I feel there should be some change in the attitude when flaps are deployed, but I didn't seem to notice any. There must be some feeling or change. This doesn't seem to be simulated. What should happen IRL?

So I checked out the Turbo Bonanza and the aircraft.cfg does not have lift_coef_flaps. Does this mean I have to change the original Bonanza cfg with the lift_coef_flaps setting?
-
I don't understand about the mod aircraft needing a change. Are you saying I have to change the cfg file for the stock Bonanaza, if I'm using the Turbo mod? Doesn't the turbo mod address the flaps settings? Or do I have to change the cfg file for the mod? How could that have been changed by the update? Sorry to be so thick, I'm just trying to get it straight.

Is There a Problem With Saving Views?
mikegrr replied to Rocky_53's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Couldn't agree more...saving views is certainly slightly out of whack. I try to save a view slightly higher and it turns out a little zoomed out and in a different location. I especially don't understand why the zoom happens. I try to save a view looking at the whole cockpit and somehow the outside view is zoomed out too, even though it wasn't when I saved the view. I've learned to work around it but it sure is fubar. -
Annoying DA62 flashing Cockpit...any fix?
mikegrr replied to mikegrr's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Maybe it's a settings problem, like the refresh rate or reflections. Not a big deal but I'll experiment. Crazy that's only on this plane and only a few folks have the problem.
