  1. Go into fuel and payload and reduce the fuel to about 30000 lbs split between the wing tanks. When you land make sure you are using either flaps 25 or 30 and your airspeed should be about 150 kts give or take.
  2. Sorry to respond so late. I was using FlyTampa Dubai.
  3. Alright, time to report on performance during my flight. If ever I was looking for a flight with an OOM, this was it. 14 hours from Dubai to Seattle in a PMDG 777-300ER flown real-time in P3D. I disabled PNW pending a final patch from T2G, but I did have Global+Vector enabled (as of today T2G has apparently been in contact with ORBX to make SEA fully compatible with PNW. See http://www.iflysimx.com/topic/1154-compatibility-with-orbx-pnw/page-2). I had 40% traffic, cloud shadows, scenery nearly all fully to the right, ASN running with overcast skies. I turned on autosave in FSUIPC anticipating an OOM as I started my descent... But the OOM never came! I don't even think I got a single ding warning me of one! My system is nearly 3 years old with 8GB of RAM, a i5-2500K overclocked to 4.5 GHz, and a GTX 570. OOMs are no foreign thing to my computer, but I was shocked to see Seattle perform so well. Frames hovered in the high teens and low 20s, but it was by no means a slide show. All-in-all I am impressed with what T2G has done with my home airport. There are still a couple wrinkles that need ironing out in terms of its compatibility with ORBX, but this is a top rate scenery!
  4. They don't use standard thrust derate values but I believe they still use assumed temperature to do reduced thrust takeoffs.
  5. I am consistently impressed with Flightbeam sceneries. I would place them as the leading scenery developer for FS. Buy it! Performance is amazing for the amount of detail and accuracy they give you.
  6. For some reason I'm not able to view the video, but from the sound of it you are describing Ezdok Camera. It's a great program and I highly recommend it! http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ezdockcam
  7. Never mind then haha! At one point I thought they said their secret project was in Asia, but looking at the latest on their forum, you are right!
  8. KSEA! We haven't had a good rendition of the airport since Flytampa in 2005. A lot has changed in Seattle since then. I also see a number of people in favor of WSSS. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is Flightbeam's secret Asian project.
  9. I'd love to see an MD-80 too, but I don't think we'll see it from PMDG. However, Leonardo is looking to do a brand new MD-80 http://www.flythemaddog.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9426
  10. My last go-around was about 2 weeks ago in Boston. Visibility was 1.5 miles and I was on the ILS for 22L planning to do an autoland. When I broke out of the clouds I was significantly offset from the runway centerline even though my instruments showed me on glideslope and on centerline. Turned out to be an issue with the FSX ILS possition. I didn't fly the whole missed approach proceedure, instead I stayed in the pattern and flew the approach again, this time disconnecting the autopilot when I had a visual on the runway and manually correcting the approach.
  11. Very cool! Interesting to see the center wheels on the boogie be the last to touchdown.

Here's the news in your flavor: http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/19/us/twa-crash-claim/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 The fact of the matter is that this crash wasn't cut and dry like most other air disasters. If there is strong enough evidence to reconsider the cause of the crash then I think it is a good thing to take a second look at the investigation.
  13. KSEA is on the FSDT radar for next year. See Virtuali's comments in this thread: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=8531.15

I love the picture of the crew with the aircraft in this article. They all look like a bunch of happy campers after a pretty eventful flight. Well done!
  15. You may be right, but from what I could tell they did a pretty good job at maintaining a safe speed and nothing struck me as downright dangerous from the video. But at the end of the day I'm just an armchair pilot, so I'm always going to give the licensed pilot the benefit of the doubt.
  16. I don't think this is as dumb as it may appear. From what I can tell they are only simulating an engine failure by idling the engine and then making the turn to return for landing. There is only one time when the engine actually stops and you can see that the co-pilot cuts the fuel only after the turn and when they are over the threshold for the runway. If they had been cutting fuel on the climb-out before the turn then I'd say they were being stupid.
  17. Longest for me was KBFI-ENGM on a delivery flight. 3965nm as the crow flies with close to zero payload. Still had about 3-4000 kilos of fuel left in the tanks if I remember correctly!
  18. A line has already been drawn. Automatic weapons are illegal in almost all states along with a variety of other weapons (yes, including nukes). The debate in the country is over whether or not the line should be redrawn. But when it comes down to it, the big question is: Does it make a difference in the murder rate? Guns have all the sudden been demonized as the root of all evil when they aren't even the weapon used in most murders. If we lived in a world where the sky was blue everyday and wolves cuddled with rabbits and nobody was ever sad or angry, sure gun control would probably have a positive impact. But that's not our world unfortunately and I think the most ineffective thing we could possibly distract ourselves with is gun control.
  19. Interesting to read everybody's opinions and views from across the world in this forum. Obviously there is a huge chasm that separates the views of many Americans with the views held by those in other nations or those of different backgrounds. So allow me to share my opinion on the issue. One of the biggest arguments I hear is that the Constitution is 200+ years old and the rights it guaranteed two centuries are no longer relevant today. Let's say that argument is viewed by Congress as correct and the 2nd Amendment is repealed. As others have mentioned, there are already 300 million firearms in the United States (one of which I am the legal owner of). Such a change to the Constitution would mean that all firearms would have to be turned into the government, and chances are that most law-abiding citizens would do so. But that is precisely the problem. Those that will abide by the law are the ones who are also responsible gun owners who don't have criminal records. On the other hand, the people who would commit gun violence are the same ones who would not turn in their guns. After all, why would somebody who is willing to break the law by murdering another human being be likely to obey a law telling them to turn in their gun? It makes no sense. Luckily, the laws proposed today are not aimed at repealing the 2nd Amendment. Instead they aim to ban assault rifles and high capacity clips and magazines. Will these measures be effective in reducing gun violence? Of course not! Is a deranged and evil person really going to stop and make sure that he doesn't have more than ten bullets in his magazine before he attempts to murder people? No! Like I said before, if a person is going to ignore our most serious laws, why would they obey a lesser law? Ultimately the problem is that elected officials in the government have the "do something" disease. Yes Sandy Hook was tragic and everything should be done to protect the citizens and especially the children of the United States. But I think that many of these lawmakers are getting so caught up trying to place stricter regulations on guns that they are forgetting their initial goal of effectively protecting students in the classroom. These proposed laws are no more than a facade to make it appear that something is being done to solve gun violence. The reality is that the world is broken and it will never be perfect. If heaven forbid, my family and I are face by an individual with evil intentions I should have the right to stop that person by any means necessary. There are legitimate uses for high powered guns. For instance, where I live in the Pacific Northwest it is a good idea to have a high powered pistol when hiking to defend against hungry cougars and bears. Nearly every gun owner in America is responsible. New laws restricting their ownership rights will do nothing to curb gun violence. It seems that we are introducing a lot of legislation, but in a few years when we look up to see where we are at, we'll realize that we've just been walking in circles.
  20. I also have a MacBook Pro except mine is a dual core i5. It runs FS9 great. Scenery settings are very high, 100% traffic, payware aircraft (PMDG, Level-D, iFly) and I am always locked at 30 FPS no matter where I am flying. With my system FSX takes a bit of tweaking to get to run smoothly (20-30FPS) but if I had to choose between a Mac and PC again I would go with Mac every time. It's the best of both worlds in my opinion.
  21. Great news to hear! Thank you so much for the work you and the rest of the PMDG team are doing. I can't wait to see the finished product!Best Regards!
