  1. Try Uninstall the a/c and reboot. Turn off/filter your antivirus and reinstall. Then start each flight from the default Cessna. <---I always get crashes if I don't do this one. KJ
  2. Not the first I've seen, but I'll admit it is rare. Nevertheless, I'd still go with the Upgrade over the Full Version because of price, and even if a problem occurs, there are legal workarounds. KJ
  3. I have had the same problem with FS9 and Win 7 64. In fact I've suffered through three types of lockups, and have managed to trouble-shoot just about all of them. Type 1 - Ground Lockup - Turning onto runway caused a freeze, to fs9 where it has to be restarted. This is the one I'm still battling, but I noticed it doesn't do it with the sound off so I'm getting close. No entry found in Event Viewer.Type 2 - Air Lockup - After flying for about 45 min, Win 7 would lockup and this required a reboot of the OS. This turned out to be something which has to do with the way Win 7 does power management. One of the fixes in the latest Asus drivers cured that one. No entry found in Event Viewer. Type 3 - Air Black screen - Certain areas of the country the screen would just go black, requiring a restart of fs9. I cured this by going to FSUIPC site, and adding RemoveATC=Yes to FSUIPC.ini file, since I don't use default ATC. Entry in Event Viewer of ATC.dll crash.Maybe this will help someone.KJ
  4. Maybe that worked for you but not for me. I ran into problems with my Upgrade disk of Windows 7, call MS and they pointed me to the below, here is an excerpt from Microsoft:To install an upgrade version of Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP must be installed on your computer. If you formatted the drive before starting the installation process, you won't be able to use the upgrade product key to activate Windows 7. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...lid-product-keyTried to install on a new hard drive, and it installed fine, just wouldn't activate. So I installed XP, it saw it, then formatted the drive and installed Win 7. KJ
  5. Un-install the stick via Device Mgr, reboot and let Windows find it and install the drivers. Then open flight sim and try it again. KJ
  6. Have you updated fs9 to version 9.1? KJ
  7. If you set the default VGA to disable you will get a black screen, the default is needed at least until the new drivers are installed. Obviously make sure you have the 6 pin power connector plugged into the GTS 250. KJ
  8. Sounds like some of the important files are Hidden (Ghost look). You can usually fix this on the Properties page of the file, by un-checking "Hidden".KJ
  9. You should be able to run fs9 just fine without the joystick software, in fact it probably causes more trouble using it. KJ
  10. 20 gigs (215022 Files, 3783 Folders) KJ
  11. I don't have tearing issue with it OFF, but with my Radeon 4830, I lose framerates with it on. I'm in the process of switching back to Nvidia, I'll see how it looks when I install it. KJ
  12. If this were to happen without using the switch panel, I'd say make sure the fuel is on. While they are cranking, do a CTRL-SHIFT-4 just to make sure fuel is on. KJ
  13. There is a tab at the top of CPUZ that says Mainboard. Might be easier to just take a screen-shot of it. :)KJ
  14. A GTX 260 in that rig? Put it back in the bubble wrap and put the old card back in until you get at least 3-4 Ghz out of your new processor. KJ
  15. While you are nowhere near maxing out the fillrate on the 4890, you may see better performance in heavy clouds with the 5850. Also if you are running a high resolution e.g. 1920 x 1080 you may see a modest bump in framerates. KJ
  16. That would have been great, but writing entirely new coding would have been very expensive and time consuming. KJ
  17. Their customer service is outstanding as well. Mine kept blowing fuses, I guess the amplifier failed. I made a call, they quickly sent out another amp unit. I probably need to call them again since I broke the connector between the chair unit and the amp unit (the one with two pins inside), but I made a temp fix and it is working. KJ
  18. If you turn off AA, and the GPS returns you know to try another set of video card drivers. KJ
  19. And what happens when you toggle the mouse view (disables Active Camera zoom)? There is a key for that, probably F12. KJ
  20. Install FS9, make sure it works, then add folder after folder, restarting FS9 each time. Also, try the FS9 Troubleshooting option (Safe Mode and Reset Defaults).KJ
  21. Your 5 year video card is a major bottleneck. You don't need a top of the line video card. If you want to stick with ATI, pick up a 4850, or even the less expensive 4830 and you will see improvement. KJ
  22. I believe ADE9X will let you add a fix (waypoint), then just run FSNav database creator and I'd guess it should show up. KJ
