  1. No time compression here either. I only used it when I had a 478 P4 processor and FS9 and the system used to overheat continuously and I saved every half hour so if it bombed out, I would reload and simply accelerate time to where I was before I bombed out. That is the only time I ever use acceleration. Like all the others, I do lots of things in between. Kind regards.
  2. :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO: ! Kind regards.
  3. +1!, couldn't have said it better even I tried  . Kind regards.
  4. Robert, Are you sure you need lawyers to assist you? Your cross-examination is pretty good :LMAO: ! +1, these comments are scattered all over the forums and it is like they are upset the rest of the world sticks with FSX... Or something... I am not sure what this is all about, but these FSX v P3D debates are getting really tiresome - if you want to switch, do it already, don't spoil the fun and excitement for the rest of us. Do it quickly and quietly and let the rest of us have fun without you . That is a bold statement considering the fact that you have no way of knowing that! Let me tell you something else - I run a Q9550 Core2Quad CPU at 2.83 GHz standard, not overclocked, with 6GB RAM and a GeForce 400 series GTX card, with very good slider settings and easily get 25-30 fps on the ground and between 40 and 50 fps whilst at altitude. If my pc can give this performance comparing it with your specs, there is something wrong with your setup, not FSX mate! My system is archaic in comparison to yours! Please people, just give this huge FSX v P3D debate a rest already - if you want to head in that direction and miss out on the fun, so be it, but don't flood all the forums with these types of posts which really serves no purpose but to start an argument and attempting to make the rest of us who stick with FSX look like idiots or morons or something like that. I respect your choice, I really do, but we enjoy FSX and let that be that! Kind regards
  5. Is it just me or are the new Boeings looking more and more like executive jet transports with G1000 kits in them :LMAO: ??? Kind regards
  6. No it isn't rude, they just cannot give you an answer. You have to realise that that is a very difficult question. You may have the experience in sales and marketing, but they have the experience in coding and programming, and with respect, they are literally two different worlds. It is amazing that people always want to bring their real world credentials into a party that deals with a hobby that we all enjoy. My advice is this - don't, not the place sir! I recently had this discussion with another "community member", it does not add anything constructive to the conversation and leaves the rest of us who read over these kinds of remarks with a bitter taste in the mouth. Just enjoy the shots and wait for it to be released. To get back to why is a difficult question, they can feel that they have a product that is ready and plan to release it tomorrow. Two hours before they boldly announced the release, a bug in the coding rears it's ugly head and now they have a problem. I personally salute this type of approach, because once you have committed to a release date and you don't deliver, you make customers very upset! Anyway, this is not to start an argument, but rather to say, let us leave the arguments and just enjoy the hobby folks. Peace!
  7. Stunning, love it! Kind regards.
  8. Don't have this issue at all, doesn't matter if I use weather or not. Have you tried to re-install the product? Kind regards.
  9. Oh this is good :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO: Kind regards
  10. +1, you should be careful to go according to what you may hear on videos from ITVV for example as the camera and microphone positions differ a little from what the pilot would hear and especially with headsets on! From what I can gather from casual observers on the flight deck in the privileged position of the jump seat for the startup and take off, the engine sounds are pretty much spot-on. Kind regards.
  11. Not less than around 6 hours. The shortest flight I do with the 777 is KMEM/KORD - PANC, which is around 6-6.5 hours. My usual trips are 8-12 hours with the occasional 17 hour trip in somewhere, but that only happens on rare occasions! I don't enjoy flying the 777 on short flights as that sort of takes the fun out of it for me - I enjoy flying it on the type of routes it was designed for, but this is obviously only for a select few I suspect, as I am fortunate enough to not have too many responsibilities after work and on weekends at the moment! Kind regards.
  12. Yes indeed, I would get it if you are a 747 fan! I still fly it on long hauls despite the fact that I have the 777 and the NGX in my hangar. Visually is shows a bit of age, but there is still nothing like it! Nothing beats the thrill of an 875 000 lbs take off at full power in that bird! It has always been and always will be my favourite airliner! I cannot wait for the new 744, but as most have said here, that will take ages. And if the 777 is anything to go by the new 744 and the -8i to follow it will be breathtaking as usual! Get it, you won't regret it! Kind regards
  13. The only thing I like about the boxed version is that it looks nicer than when I put it on a disc myself :LMAO: . Kind regards
  14. Hi gents, Yes indeed, i run a Q9550 at 2.83GHz (not overclocked at all), 6GB RAM and a GeForce 480GTX at 1.5 GB VRAM. I get very good frame rates 95% of the time. I think there is something amiss with the setup there mate. What other software are you running like anti-virus software and the likes? Kind regards
  15. Hi all, I have always used the panel setups provided by PMDG themselves, specifically the short turn state and never had this issue. Kind regards
  16. Hi all, Mine was KATL - FAOR, my route was a little longer than that of the other poster here in terms of time spent flying it, 17H43 mins, which beat my previous longest in the 747-400 by about 2 hours. I did not use acceleration Still want to play around with the extra tanks and see how much further I can stretch it! Kind regards
  17. Hi all, I got this this afternoon when taking off from a dry runway at PANC on my way to VHHH. It stayed with me for the entire flight. Don't know what this is, I also don't use Opus, I use FSGRW. I have seen this on other aircraft I have flown too. Kind regards.
  18. Hi gents, Right so I have logged quite a few long hauls in the T7 since release date, but have never really had any bad weather approaches, until about 15 minutes ago! I was approaching VHHH which showed weather with winds 220 @ 27 knots, medium precipitation (read rain), and visibility down to 3200 meters. Now, I am still getting to grips with the flaring and landing techniques with the 777, so I figured this would be the perfect time to test out the auto land on this aircraft. When I approached the runway the winds had shifted to 0 degrees at 32 knots, but I saw this too late, which meant that the winds were hitting me on the right hand side of the fuselage just more than 90 degrees off, very close to, most likely exceeding the limits for a safe landing with the auto land (in fact exceeding the safe limits for a crosswind landing period!). I was approaching on runway 25R. The aircraft and the auto thrust system performed flawlessly! I was still commenting to myself about the amazing landing the aircraft had pulled off when I pulled into the cargo ramp at VHHH LOL! I really enjoyed that! Kind regards.
  19. Really excellent work guys, much appreciated, thanks for putting the time and effort into doing this! Works beautifully for me. Kind regards.
  20. HEATHEN!!! :t0148: LOL! Seriously though, the 737 is still a wonderful aircraft, I do fly it in between all the long hauls that I do with the 777. You really should consider getting the 777 though, you won't be disappointed, even if you fly only the short haul flights! Kind regards.
  21. Hahaha, my apologies Tom! No I left the flying to my very capable "relief crew" (read A/P) whilst I just checked in now and then - gives me the opportunity to get to all the things I was supposed to do during the week but didn't, especially since it has that wonderful feature of auto step climb programmed into it  . Kind regards.
  22. Tom, have to agree sir - I logged close to a 100 flight hours since the 03rd of September when she was released. In the evenings after work and weekends, this has become my only entertainment! Kind regards

    Autoland flare

Still trying to get to grips with the manual landings, which I am only beginning to nail, but I find that landing manually I get this to. I will go and do a few autoland approaches and report on what happens. I am now curious to :-) Kind regards
  24. Yes, I have to agree, my apologies gents, I had a look at it again. I was under the impression that the Alpha was part of the landing mode and that the aircraft sort of refused to leave landing mode and that that was why it acted in the way that it did. I also have to confess that since I'm not a big fan of the A-team's products, I don't really know what makes them tick! Anyway, thank you guys, the other two posts about the correction to my statement as well, I actually learned something here today again  . Kind regards.
