As you quoted a post I made over 1 year ago my experience with the performance degradation on long flights has been common. I can fly up to 7 hours before experiencing a 50% or more decrease in fps and performance. Its an issue which really ought to be fixed asap, I don't care for the world updates until this issue is fixed. It will seriously influence my decision on purchasing long haul aircraft such as the upcoming PMDG 777, as what is the point in spending $100+ on an aircraft I cannot perform a long haul flight in, which is designed for just that. I have talked to PMDG about this as I was having issues with the BBJ and decided to mention to performance degradation. They said that they will be in contact with Asobo about this - but if they are at all active on the MSFS offical forum, they will have seen the constant posts about this particular issue. We lived to work around the 32bit program which was FSX and grew used to expecting a CTD after a certain amount of hours, but I haven't ever experienced such an issue with a program before such as the one present in MSFS. Either its fixed in the next SU, or its on the back burner again for another two years, which by then there will be thousands of new customers flying the PMDG 777 or other such aircraft, wondering why their sim is reducing in performance after so many hours.

If they'd fix the underlying performance loss after a few hours and other core system issues that would greatly improve MSFS for me. Ground textures at airports payware/freeware are of very poor quality, they could greatly improve that area also. Open up the weather system so that third parties can develop for the weather system in the sim such as Active Sky. The Ai traffic is abysmal. They should have fixed it long ago. If Asobo/Microsoft stopped pushing for World Updates and DLC and just got working on the above mentioned it would be great.

I use the Logitech Attack 3 joystick when flying Airbus or stick controlled aircraft in MSFS 2020. I had the axis set up correctly and the joystick is calibrated through Windows and doesn't show any of the issues I am seeing when in the aircraft. What happens is when using either the elevator axis or aileron axis the joystick in the aircraft snaps back to centre without me doing anything. As said above this doesn't occur when in the windoes calibration menu and the settings menu it doesn't occur either. I am not too sure what is going on, I have tried everything that I can think of, but nothing is working. Any thoughts?

Since installing the FTsim soundpack and buying FSrealistic, I have spent more hours in the Maddog than any other aircraft this past week or so. Although the FTsim soundpack introduces better engine sounds, it has its downsides such as engines audible in the flightdeck etc, but hopefully FTsim will update the MD80 pack in time and bring it closer to the real world. Still its a far better sound pack than the one included with the Maddog (which is awful).

After flying the MD80 for the past few days with FSR, I do not regret purchasing FSR - it really adds so much more to aircraft such as the LH MD80. As you fly through turbulence not only can you hear the items in the aircraft shaking but you also get a real sense of being in turbulence with camera shakes etc. Before purchasing FSR, the LH MD80 was good but it was lacking considerably, FSR filled that gap.

@FSRealistic I was just searching for authors in the app and found that when I typed a letter its as if I press and hold a key and I end up with multiple letters. It has nothing to do with my computer as typing any letter anywhere else it just types one letter.

This is why we need a third party live weather system for MSFS. Oh and that annoying warning, can't they just release a hotfix to have it as a one time only warning?

A lot of people including myself cannot fly around EIDW airport right now in MSFS, regardless of whether you have MK Studios or not, CTD is a major issue around Dublin.

I bought FSrealistic last night and thank god I did because it adds way more than I expected it to. Well done to the developers of this tool, really great work and keep improving it (what is there to improve?).

So I haven't been able to use EIDW as the sim just CTD's when ever I attempt to, but I think I may have found a solution to why the jetways aren't appearing. When you uninstall a scenery from Orbx it seems that the airport isn't uninstalled, so no matter how many times I tried uninstalling BIKF from MK Studios, the airport folder remained which means that reinstalling wasn't doing anything. I deleted my BIKF install manually since I was also missing jetways there. I reinstalled via Orbx and now the jetways are back. I assume that is also the case for EIDW, but as I said above I cannot test due to CTD which seems to be a common issue with Dublin at the moment.

Its fairly pricey, but saying that I will probably buy it anyway. From what I have seen from some youtubers, it looks awesome!

Not entirely. Mahan Air and Iran Air still fly a fairly sizeable fleet of them with Mahan having a lot more. Kam Air in Afghanistan still fly one. If you like exotic destinations such as Iran and Afghanistan then there are several great freeware options for airports in Iran and one for Kabul. Don't forget cargo airlines such as ULS in Turkey and Royal Jordanian although the latters A310's days are numbered.

This may or may not be a controversial post...my personal wish is for FBW and Fenix to collaborate and have Fenix bring their expertise to the A20N. Ofcourse that probably isn't realistic since MS own the rights to the NEO? Me personally - I haven't touched the FBW since the Maddog came out, now that the Fenix 320 is out and I have it and love it, I cant see myself using the FBW again unless some major milestone is set.

Try it for yourself. This guy's videos has helped me get the best out of MSFS, they are far from snake oil.

What compression must a texture file in MSFS to set to? I have tried editing a few textures but I am unable to get them to show as DXT 1 DXT3 & DXT5 do not work.

The most important method to get good performance in MSFS is one that I discovered last night via a youtube video. You basically have to use DDU to unstall your graphics drivers, then reinstall graphics drivers using NVCleaninstall which is a tool you can download, by selecting recommended settings plus choosing other settings you wish to install it basically removes the ability for graphics drivers to install bloatware. After doing this I have gained 15+ fps. For example - I used to get around 15fps in and around NYC, now I get a steady 35fps and its smooth no stutters. I also have a program downloaded which purges memory and eliminates the performance degradation over time.
