  1. Asobo acknowledged this was broken in SU5 (where light would still illuminate the external and internal model in / below dense cloud or fog) - looks to be corrected for the most part in the current beta. Like this?
  2. Yes agreed. There was always a significant performance hit with certain cloud types. Here were a number of similar observations on the official forums (though not enough replies so the threads auto-closed): Low FPS with certain cloud layer - Bugs & Issues / Install, Performance & Graphics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums High level clouds absolutely wrecks fps! - Community / General Discussion - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums I'd suggest posting and voting in these threads: [BUG Reported]: Low FPS Weather (Clouds) in SU5 - Bugs & Issues / Weather - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums Crippled FPS - Specific Cloud Layer?! - Bugs & Issues / Install, Performance & Graphics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
  3. What i love is the fantastic age distribution among the respondents - quite the community for our little hobby.
  4. Interestingly, LSGK airport actually uses MSFS in its official approach briefing videos 👍 Pilots – Gstaad Airport (gstaad-airport.ch)
  5. If you're GPU limited at a higher resolution, one of the biggest settings you can try for a performance boost is render scaling - try somewhere between 80 and 90% on a 4K screen. Yup, try and install the sim on a fast SSD / NVMe drive, and play around with the rolling cache on or off. Could also be network, particularly around photogrammetry.
  6. Yes it is brilliant 😎 Recently updated too, and now supports the F18 and PC6 https://uwajimaya.github.io/FS2020/ https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/update-1-17-lighting-mod-uwajimaya/482063
  7. Would be a fun bird. Wish it took advantage of MSFS with things like PBR textures...
  8. Starting today for two weeks...taking a look now https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/holiday-sale-400-items-on-sale-now-in-the-marketplace/483525
  9. Same. HAGS and REBAR enabled running DX11 on Win11. So far so good.
  10. That would be fantastic - loved seeing Bully Beef Express when I was out in the Gulf... Also looking forward to a good C130...
  11. Ah getting my hopes up before Christmas...! That's thanks to @MaVe64
  12. Even Milton Shupe, the legend himself, commented on the thread. And the dev seems like a real class act - this was quite the story: Hi Tankerguy, imma start by saying i cant do a paint to save my life.that said, any chance that as you go setting this up for release, could you do a tribute to Joe "Hoser" Satrapa? T89 out of Grass Valley.the last time i saw it before his retirement and his passing,it had "Hoser" under the window where you have Hemet Ryan on T72.i had a personal connection to Joe,he dropped on me several times, before the days of not dropping near crews i guess.never heard radio traffic between the air attack/tankers and the ground in those days,to busy eatin smoke.but the one time..sent me head over teakettle on one drop, which actually stopped a wall of fire that could have eaten us up...he went direct ,sent me flying, and my crew partner,we were mobiling with both lines out,one in front ,one to the rear..when i gathered myself up,i looked at Kurt and he also had gone flying, and a boot came off.though we were both injured..we couldnt help but laugh. we were released from the fire and went back to Auburn,a few days later we were asked to go to the ECC at the Grass valley airport,Nevada County airport.anyway,we were asked to come up by Joe and he apologized to us. and took us to dinner.he was a great guy.gruff but very nice and funny.i miss him alot. i wish someone who builds scenery for MSFS would do a nevada county airport and add the base and ECC to it.oh well just dreaming in both cases. Thanks dave Dave 89 will be on the list. I will release a texture pack with all of the 23 tanker numbers or whichever are not released in the initial package.
  13. I guess an analogy would be drinking through a straw - with your previous GPU being matched to your CPU, you were getting a fairly constant flow. Now your GPU is taking big gulps so you're getting bubbles... 🙂 BTW, one additional setting to check is to disable HAGS in Windows (if you had it enabled).
  14. Not surprising given the expanding userbase for MSFS. But there are interesting insights into the stability of the SDK (from a scenery perspective at least).
  15. As you are CPU and bus-bandwidth limited, here are a couple of things to try: - If you're able to run with freesync enabled, try disabling any external fps limiters and enable in-sim vsync / frame limit to 60 (or even 30). This can help with mainthread scheduling, without the traditional negatives of vsync. - Delete and recreate your rolling cache (if you have this enabled). Having rolling cache on (on a fast SSD or NVMe) can sometimes help with stutters and pop-in when panning, particularly with photogrammetry. - Keep settings to ultra (including terrain pre-caching), but notch back texture supersampling and shadow maps. - Check that DPI scaling is performed by the sim: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016142680-All-versions-How-to-improve-the-performance Also, what resolution are you running in windows and the sim? Installed on an SSD / NVMe?
  16. If you go into the landing challenges, you can see which ones you haven't got an "A" in. Think you only get the achievement if all are at an A.
  17. New update 1.1 released today with more liveries. As per the release post This update adds more liveries (see below), Includes more schedules to some airports, Combines all folders into one folder for easier handling. As always just start Aerosoft One and you will see the update pending December update now available (version 1.1.0.0) - Simple Traffic - AEROSOFT COMMUNITY SERVICES
  18. How about you post in this thread: Live weather seems to be down yet again - Community / General Discussion - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums The MSFS team is looking for input.
  19. I know the original post stated 700 liveries (which is fantastic), but is a list of airlines yet?
  20. Well work seem cut out for them in this regard, but lots of of potential. DX12, resizable BAR, DLSS...
