  1. Curious as to what controls the speed of the Zoom. I have a button on my Saitek Yoke set as for Zoom In. Earlier this morning I was doing a flight and the zoom worked fairly quickly. Later, flying the same aircraft, the zoom was crawling. Almost painfully slow. I'm curious if, perhaps, I inadvertently changed setting because I trying to better understand some of settings this morning. Thanks, Ernie
  2. Hi Shez, I was able to resolve the issue of the missing hangers on the ANG ramp by adding Dan French's Military Hangers and Buildings Library Vol 2. I don't know why it was necessary since you included a copy with the airport, unless it was due to missing textures. I noticed your Libraries\Texture folder only had 42 BMP files for all of the objects while Dan's Texture folder had 195 BMP files for just his objects. Anyway, whatever the cause of the issue.. I now consider it solved. As to why? I'll save that for another day. Ernie
  3. Thanks Shez, Putting them into the Addon Scenery folder didn't appear to work, but I haven't tried the second method that you mentioned. Will give it a try and let you know the results. Thanks for everything and another vote for KMEM. . Ernie
  4. I tried adding the Libraries objects to the FSX Addon Scenery folder as well as leaving them in the unzipped Libraries folder and referencing them in the scenery library. However, in both cases I have instances where black boxes appear on the scenery and the some of the objects are missing. It's likely something that I'm doing wrong, just wondering what it is. Thanks, Ernie
  5. Thanks Shez, Anything in the Great Lakes area is appreciated. I also have your KTOL scenery installed. I have left the structure as it was unzipped, within the parent TOL2015X folder. I plan on doing the same with FWA2017X. As a result some of the third-party object libraries will be duplicated. Do the redundancies affect anything, other than perhaps memory or usage? If so I can consolidate them. Thanks, Ernie
  6. What errors are you receiving when you attempt to install?
  7. Jorge, Haven't tried it yet but maybe Orbx's BOB will do the same thing if you already have FTX Central v3 installed? Ernie
  8. Thanks. I haven't looked at them, but KJAX is supplied with 2048 x 2048 textures and my TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD setting is at 2048, so that's likely part of it. However, even at that setting I get better performance with Flightbeam's KPHX and KDEN, so some of the issue is probably a lack of optimization on Cielosim's part. Ernie
  9. Just installed KJAX this morning. Nice looking airport, but using FSX in windowed mode, sitting at airport in Flight1 T182T, no AI, only addon in dll/exe.xml is FSUIPC and FSUIPC is showing 1,251,824 bytes VAS remaining. BTW, fsx.cfg follows AVSIM guide, so minimal changes. It does appear, at least in FSX to be a VAS eater. Still.. it's a nice looking airport and no regrets purchasing it. I'll just have to manage the aircraft I use. Ernie
  10. Hi, Pero will have the definitive answer, but until then; are you running SIMstarter 'as administrator'? Ernie
  11. Thanks Steve, I'll give the key sequence a try the next time it happens. Ernie
  12. Windowed is all I ever use and it probably happens every couple of weeks or so. Fortunately in my case it usually happens during the loading sequence, so it doesn't interrupt my flight.
  13. Known issue with FSX that is not unique to Little Navmap. The easiest, though not the least expensive solution that I have found is Flight1 Soundstream. Unfortunately, it only works with FSX Boxed. Ernie
  14. I have the issue occasionally and found, at least for me, the best solution was to open Process Explorer, right click on FSX, select 'Window' then 'maximize'. Ernie
  15. You've probably already done this, but make sure that the hat switch isn't also defined in the simulator or FSUIPC4. I experienced something similar with my Saitek yoke when I failed to remove it from FSX during my initial usage. Ernie
  16. Since FSXSE is just FSX modified for use with Steam my guess is the original pre-2006 data. Therefore it's likely one of the 04xx, 05xx or very early 06xx cycles listed in Wikipedia. Ernie
  17. Are you using vPilot to connect? If so, have you done any of the model matching yet. You can create a custom one if you wish, but there are also files available within vPilot. Ernie
  18. Follow-up, so I can mark this thread done. Couldn't resolve it, so I restored an image I had made earlier this month. Back in the air with minimal frustration.. Reinforced always, always, always backup. Also, keep simulator files off OS drive, that way you can re-image the simulator stuff without potentially having to reactivate Windows, FSX, etc.. Ernie
  19. Not sure if this will be of any help, but Are you attempting to start both VFX Central and ChasePlane with FSX_SE? If so, then try turning off VFX Central, so that it only loads when you click on the icon. It's only needed for installation of new software. If that doesn't work then try doing the same thing with ChasePlane, so that you have to manually start it. This, just to see if FSX_SE will load without it. Hopefully, by then someone will step in with some real suggestions. Ernie
  20. I would recommend searching the forum for 'trackir' and read the previous messages while waiting for a reply from Keven. You might find some useful information there. Also, user-to-user, you need to include more information. What are the symptoms, what troubleshooting have you done on your own, specifically what do you mean 'does not work in chaseplane', etc. The more details you give the easier it will be for Keven, or one of the users to assist you with your issue. Best wishes, Ernie
  21. Hi Jim, Yep.. that's what I found out. :-) Also, you are correct that two of the files I mentioned don't exist. They should be, as you pointed out Standard.xml and Scenery.cfg. I haven't had time since the original post to do much more troubleshooting. Hoping to get to it tonight or tomorrow. I do have a drive image from earlier this month if all else fails. I would need to install some apps and do some updates for stuff that changed since then, but it should save me a reinstall of FSX.
  22. As I indicated in the title, I think that reinstalling FSX is inevitable, but I'm hoping that someone has some clue as to what might have caused or could potentially solve my issue. Note; I have deleted and allowed FSX to rebuild; fsx.cfg, dll.xml, exe.xml, scenery.xml, controls.xml. logbook.bin. Cleared the scenery/facilities and shades caches, Also have deleted all FTX Global, etc., but there likely is stuff leftover (the nature of FTX!). Other than that, no third-party add-ons are loading. Anyway, using Process Monitor I can follow the loading of FSX SP2 and noticed that once it completes the steps for 'Logbook.BIN' it goes into a 'Thread Exit, Thread Create' loop. If I cancel, I get a 'AppHangB1', but not sure what else to try.. Already backing up the drive for a reformat, reinstall, but I'm not looking forward to it. Thanks, Ernie
  23. I did the same thing. The only minor issue is that when you installed GEX it made a backup of your original FSX/P3D textures. Not uninstalling GEX first and reverting back to the defaults simply means that you don't have access to those original textures should you want them. Not a big deal because I doubt that you'll want to revert. You may also have some GEX stuff hanging around, menu links, etc. Ernie
  24. Another vote for Simbrief. No GA in the aircraft profiles, but a lot of features plus support for Navigraph, ability to export flight plan formats for the most popular aircraft and apps, fuel planning, etc. I usually grab a flight from www.flightaware.com, copy the route and other details to Simbrief to build a real world flight. Regardless of the aircraft type I'll also export a copy of the flight plan in FSX format for use with AS016 and LittleNavMap. Ernie
  25. What do you mean automate the startup process? SIMstarter NG is a close as I can think of as an app that might automate the startup. Ernie
