I signed up for game pass during lockdown as I didn't want to buy but wanted to try some games like forza and a few other titles, I could have bought these multiple games for 100s of usd/euro but it wasn't worth buying because when work returned my time would be limited to flight sim again so now that my time is limited again I may buy one or two keep my progress and achievements and cancel my game pass subscription it's really a no lose situation,

Same happened me I have a small 250gb OS Drive and drives d,e and f are all 1tb SSD, download and extraction was all done to my 1tb p3d drive but I think the installation has a temporary location on the OS drive I had to free around 30gb on my OS drive for it to install

If i can start adding my 3rd party add on with official installers and the performance can maintain what i see in this vanilla install that will be great, if the the performance drops as the addons are installed then this may be the last P3D for me, but early days i live in hope, its far to early to be overly critical

Seems sleek with the new UI. Now for the tweaking, bye bye Tuesday evening.

Anyone else struggling with the install taking forever to install, download was quick in the end

Yeah there is no rush, got my confirmation e-mail so at least i have acknowledgment of payment.

As a fan of all the sims, yes Xplane 11.5 p3d4.5/soon v5 and alpha MSFS, I think it’s safe to say eye candy is more then catered for in the next gen sims, weather it be out of the box or by 3rd party additions it now is truly about flight dynamics and various external factors, and since it’s a flight simulator I guess that’s what it will come down to in the end. -
It will be nice to compare apples with alpha apples next week 😉 although I might not jump in straight away. As comments above “meh”

What was the a transaction description and was it the same for both occasions? PayPal disputes can sometimes take a few days to resolve, but if they have a similar problems with the same transaction description it can get cleared up quite quickly, when they think there is a pattern Sorry this happened to you, its horrible to have to cancel cards wait for new cards and chase money over something that wasn't your fault, luckily most cards and services have good fraud protection, even if they cant prevent it from happening in the first place. I'm sure the money will be returned, It will be interesting to see where the weak link was. Keep us informed.

It’s fantastic to see so many launches lately, it’s great to see innovation on such large scale projects again I was honestly was starting to think our best minds were in a time before I was born in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s, but ULA, SpaceX and Rocket lab are starting to people excited about space again, I can’t wait until Blue origin steps up to the new glenn, exciting times ahead

Thank for the feedback Ron think I’ll run into my local argos before silly season kicks in and pick one up. -

Thank you both for your feedback, Michael is the resolution of reverb highly noticeable or something only a VR aficionado would notice while the price point isn't too much of a concern, I'm not sure I'd get the value at twice the price although 2160x2160 res is impressive. -

Im very close to buying a VR Set every review i watch is giving me a sense there is no obvious leader, i would only use VR for flight sims (all platforms) and the odd racing sim when time is too tight to fly or for a change of pace, considering im in a sitting position and don't require to track my movements around a room i'm heavily leaning toward just buying a RIFT S, would this be a wise choice based on my basic needs -
Maybe when it gets to BETA version yes there should be allowed limited discussion, but when it’s still ALPHA I think it’s only fair to Microsoft an NDA is applied, it’s still very much a work in progress negative comments online in such an early stage could damage the project, and potentially stop it’s development

How Can Other Sims Compete With MSFS?
stephenbgs replied to nickhod's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Could MS persuade ( Not enforce ) LM to axe or have tighter restrictions on the Academic version of P3d in return for some payback down the road such as exclusive rights to a professional MSFS. This would leave LM with P3D still existing from $200 up, with near term updates such as V5 coming from in house, while simultaneous development for a V6 or re brand being developed at MS -
I find it so hard to remember what it was like when 20,40 or 60 GB HDD was a massive deal, a few years ago that was x hundred amount of movies, x thousands songs and x million of pictures. plus your sim and OS. Now im running 4.5TB on 4 SSD's back in 2016 that was 1TB for P3D, 1TB for Xplane 11, 1TB for work and the rest for odd games and OS, I have no movies because of streaming and i can hold all my downloaded movies on my tablet, no music because of spotify and apple music and all pictures are stored in the cloud and backed up again to my 4TB Home cloud, yet im running out of space rapidly Thats why i am on Amazon looking at 14TB old style spinning HDD, it feels somewhat like going "back to the future" so much for me in 2016 saying SSD all the way My Basic question which really didn't need the above preamble is will i regret going back to 7200rpm spinning disks for simming, my plan is to Move x-plane to the 14TB and dedicate two TBs for P3D, i have 1GB Fiber to my home so im not allowing much space for MSFS as i doubt ill need to cache too much area on my machine. If this sounds more like an xplane issue then a hardware question i ask the mods to move it to where they think best

Buy addons? Or stand pat?
stephenbgs replied to Casualcas's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I will buy a few more p3d items such as aerosoft A330 just because it's been such a long wait, and MK studios EIDW for obvious reasons, but after that I'm stopping my impulse purchasing on the P3d platform. there is no product currently being teased or previewed that has me excited. Impulse purchases will be saved for x-plane and any disposable time will be spent discovering DCS which I have neglected since last winter. -

Ok just putting a non educated prediction on this topic, not only do I reckon they will properly depict season, I would not be surprised if they could inject forest fires and its smoke and active volcanic ash clouds and particle ingestion Please dont ask for a link it's just my 2 cents, on what could be possible, complete conjecture.
