To the OP. This is a widely-known issue that occurs when the Orbx Installer detects what it perceives to be an 'unauthorised' version of the software (on the target machine), and then deletes the Orbx Folder. It is discussed and explained, at great length, by John Venema in a pinned post #8 labelled "Disappearing ORBX Folder? Read on... ", in the Orbx General Discussion Forum. As MartinRex007 suggests, you would be best served by reading the official explanation from Orbx themselves.

There would appear to be several simmers out there who are not experiencing the joys of the animated waves in V3... (that said - who wants to fly when the surf is up!!), and seem to suffer from static sea-states? Is this an altitude-related perception or simply a lack of any animation whatsoever at sea-level on their particular rigs l wonder?

Works fine for me. Did you remember to change the in-game resolution to match the new DSR setting?

Fair comment Bobsk8 but, judging by the bulk of your P3D posts, you don't run at higher settings anyway? Correct me if I am wrong - but anyone can run P3D at minimal settings and achieve a smooth performance? You want FSX? - Turn everything off in P3D and you have the updated version. Simples.

Tweaking.... Hmmm..... We seem to be a Community of avid Tweakers ... greedily devouring every hint, nod or slightest suggestion, that might lead us to the Nirvana of Flight Sim Perfection? I wonder if the LM, PMDG or Orbx Devs (amongst countless others), ever suffer stutters, low fps's or any of the other afflictions that seem to plague the rest of us mere Mortal Flight Simmers, on their Corporate PC's? [Holds hands up] I have a rather hefty machine (and monitors), that can run modern gaming sims at absolutely mind-blowing graphics settings and yet, the Love of My Life is still stuttering along at 25-30-ish fps (on a good day?). Just like YOU, who are reading this post, I have tried to subjectively analyse the why's and wherefore's and am still at a loss as to understand how a supposedly 'Military Class' Simulator can be so 'buggy'? Would Anyone care to discuss?

It is simply FTX Global Elaine - nothing more, nothing less. ASN with three levels of cloud and most sliders maxed. I was messing around with my settings yesterday afternoon, flying out of Innsbruck, and was suddenly gobsmacked at just how far we have come (from the early days), that I decided to grab that video using Shadowplay. It is a bit nausea-inducing unfortunately but then - hey! - I'm no Froogle or Matt Davies!!

Thanks for that D - but for EGNL that will always be murky, wet and windy! Just a shame that Orbx can't incorporate rusty sheep into the scenery for that added touch of realism.

Yes, I have checked the date, and it isn't April 1st. A member (Raymer) on the the Prepar3d website is reporting explosions and craters on the runway whilst taxiing? Yikes!! Which tweak is he using to get THAT level of realism? Mike Young (from LM) is investigating but, until they get it sorted, I think that I will be giving Rafic Hariri a wide berth for a while! :ph34r:
