  1. What is the fifth season?? Summer, autumn, winter, spring,...?
  2. The . key is normally assigned to the parking brake. That's indeed strange. In my case it was more that already around 10-20% deflection of the pedal brakes in the VC stopped the aircraft immediately during taxi. My brake pedals are in synchronisation with the brake pedals as seen in the VC, and well calibrated. https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/11799-brake-pedal-sensitivity/ Anyway, it is normal that if you slam the brakes, the aircraft will not move. This is what you do at short runways: slam the pedal brakes and apply power, then initiate the takeoff role by releasing the brakes. It is just strange in your case that you have to push the .key. (which by default is the parking brake) to release the normal brakes... Do you use any ground friction lua scripts ?
  3. The FSlabs bus is extremley sensitive when it comes to rudder pedal brakes. A small tip with the toes brings the aircraft to an halt. I have discussed this issue since the first release, but there is no fix or anything. You may only try to calibrate using FSUIPC sensitivity curves or change the brake sensitivity in the aircraft.cfg.
  4. Why do you not just save the flight and then load it when you restart the sim?
  5. 4.2. It has many bug fixes and improvements.
  6. In theory only the Client. However, in the past there was once a problem that menu functions of addons (e.g GSX, ATC) or effects did not work properly as they required the Content update as well. That said, I would update Client AND Content to be up to date and then update the addons you have. It will not take that long. Addon Scenery and aircrafts will not be affected by the Client and Content update. If for any reason 4.2 does not work for you, you can go back to 4.1, but I doubt you will... 😏
  7. my must have (without aircrafts or scenery, as this will depend) FSUIPC - controllers EZDOK - cameras TrackIR - head movement PFPX - flight planing Multi Crew Experience - speech recognition Lord of the landing - landing parameters (touch down rate etc) HIFI ASP4 and ASCA - weather and cloud textures ENVSHADE and ENVTEX - Shaders mod and environment textures Precipit - precipitation effects AI lights Reborn - improves AI lights REX - textures FTX Global Base - ground textures, autogen and night lights FTX OpenLC - Landclasses ... The list is longer than I thought... Cheers, Chris
  8. Some newer addons will REQUIRE 4.2 to work. If all your addons are updated, there is no reason not to update to be honest. Most of the issues are solved by updating the addons.
  9. Would be great if DD and Jeffrey (SODE) work together to solve the issue. It might be the sdx files which are compiled from xml files that makes the problem. This format is choosen by developers that want to hide information how they built and placed objects. DD seems to be one of the few developers (if not only one) that uses this format.
  10. With the 4790K I did not notice any performance difference in P3D with HDR on or off. But I got significantly higher CPU temperatures when it is on, which is why I always leave it OFF, thus giving higher OC capabilities.
  11. I would start the EU selection with the developers: Flytampa, Flightbeam, FSDreamTeam, 29Palms, Jo Erlend Sund (Aerosoft), OrbX, Justsim to look at. For the UK, definitely UK2000 airports. More general, FTX Global Base (OrbX) is a big improvement over default scenery textures, and then land classes (e.g. FTX Global openLC Europe).
  12. Just point point the scenery.cfg to the folders in correct order (similar order as in FSX). I have put the agn files from ES trees into the respective GenX texture folders. All GenX and ES trees work nicely in my setup in P3D4.2. If you are more experienced you can even merge tiles containing trees with OSM buildings by using "AGN merge tool", which looks even better as you have buildings & trees in the UK paared with photo scenery...
  13. I have the same CPU, monitor Hz and a 1080GTX video card, but I use G-SYNC which gives me a smooth performance. What sim do you use? For the start I would check the following 1. If you overclock the CPU, memory or GPU, try the default settings and timings. 2. Reset your Nvidia profile to default, 3. Delete the Shaders cache @ \\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Shaders 4. Get rid off AM in the prepar3d.cfg, just leave it default and set fps slider to unlimited; no fps limiter in the Nvidia inspector 5. For testing, switch off any anti-virus or malware scanner and check in the task manager whether there is a software causing work load for the CPU, You might not want to hear it, but sometimes also a hardware defect can cause stutters. It might also be worth to check components if the other things fail. Cheers, Chris
  14. I switch between MD11F, 737 NG, A320, 777, and some smaller SEP and MEP aircrafts. It is hard to keep all the procedures, QRH knowledge and memory items in mind, but it is a lot of fun as it always keeps you busy.
  15. As a work around, you can also try to deactivate these two files: xai_singleprop01.wav & ai_singleprop01.wav in Your Drive and Path:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\sound\ Then the prop sound should be gone. It is most probably a airfield vehicle that uses these sounds.
  16. I also have ASP4, GSX and other simconnect addons. No problem with any of them using FSUIPC 5.121. Have not tried 5.122 though. I have updated both Client AND Content, and applied all the new patches and updates for the addons.
  17. You always get the last files through the FSDT updater, which will be installed as well.
  18. On the other side, there is no reason not to update. Be brave! I did the Client and Content update and downloaded all the patches and updates for my addons. Everything works as before and I am ready for the future. It does not take that long... Only some things have to be considered: 1. for A2A aircrafts it may be nevessary to remove the last backslash in the addon.cfg 2. FSUIPC works with 5.121 or 5.122 3. if Content is updated, you need to run FTX Central to restore the autogen files. EZDOK, FTX products, ASP4, MCE, LoL, Envtex, Envshade, GSX, all aircrafts (PMDG, Realair, Carenado) work as before... That‘s on a Win 8 machine. Cheers Chris
  19. Haha, too late. The new FSlabs bus v231 runs like a charme. I have landed and now I am having my beer, which cooled down in the fridge during the upgrade process 🍺
  20. ... update of client and content took just a few minutes. Everything seems to work so far... Nice... I still use FSUIPC 5.121 which also works with 4.2 until it has been updated by Pete.
  21. Be aware that the new Aerosoft airbus will require 4.2. And other addons might follow. Instead of having a beer tonight, I will update today.
  22. hanging thirsty in the (never ending) loop...
  23. Thanks for the link, Anders.
  24. For client/content update: just run FTX central. It will renew the autogen files. https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/137098-prepar3d-v4-tutorials-and-orbx-troubleshooting/ For P3D scenery update and use of FTX Global: delete the version text file FTX_AA_ORBXLIBS.TXT at Prepar3D v4 ► ORBX ► User Documents ► Versions ► FTX_AA_ORBXLIBS.TXT Then reinstall/update the ORBX library upon launch of FTX central.
