More stupid gusts, this time on final
rick celik replied to rondon9898's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
This. The exact problem that’s in flight sim today… while of course there’s still room for improvement in all areas of every sim, there’s just too many loud voices of people who’ve never flown a plane as opposed to people who have rl experience… naturally. But Asobo should really only consider changes and input from a list of ppl with real life experience, for the important things like fm and weather anyway, I don’t mind the causal ones having a say in how bright the sim should be. It is a flight simulator after all and shouldn’t be easy, aviation is a complex topic and probably one of the hardest things to master. In saying that yes there should be options for someone who just wants to cruise around. $$$- 290 replies

FSLabs and Fenix Sim Airbus A320's.
rick celik replied to haseen's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
My best advice to you is get out there, it’s not good sitting at home and getting too deep into this. Don’t be scared, talk to women, live your life. Its long weekend here in Sydney. I’m heading out for a night of who knows what. I’ll respond to you tomorrow to put you in line should the circumstances call for it. Enjoy -
FSLabs and Fenix Sim Airbus A320's.
rick celik replied to haseen's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Well for one, the Fenix is released I’m using it as we speak. Does everything I expect an a320 desktop software to do… it’s only getting better with updates. I mean at the moment do I even need to say anything else? Before you get too cocky I’m not the one making troll accounts… no need to try check me buddy. -

Fenix uses the prosim software (mature software) plus enhancements from the brilliant folks at Fenix. Try again. -
FSLabs and Fenix Sim Airbus A320's.
rick celik replied to haseen's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Ahhhhh right right…. Gotchya. Silly prosim and Fenix. You’ve created nothing but subpar systems for an a320 and Fenix has created nothing but a Carenado A320 according to this fella…. Because when FsLabs release their a320 in 16 years, we’ll all switch over to them….. Anyway I’m currently enjoying the latest update to the Fenix I see no reason for another a320. -
Weather and Terrain APIs - Marked as "Fixed"
rick celik replied to Zangoose's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
But the guys at Asobo did say it’s a sim for simmers and that they strive to make this the most realistic simulator possible…. So they should have a weather radar, something we had in older simulators. -
Right, didn't know this! I'll admit I've seen a few forums where they argue about if its a command or a reminder, but never got my head around it. I just yank them back gently as I flare, pretty much as the retard call out starts singing.
-
Try use the retard call out only as a guide and keep the power on a little longer depending on the situation ofc, also make sure your elevator axis is quite linear with a touch of curve.. try these. I’ve been told by a friend who is a 320 pilot irl that they do often keep the power on a little longer after the retard call out… trying to also avoid the floater. It’s just a technique which I think would also be easier to master irl because of feel and height perception.

What was the crosswind component? From what I know aircraft have a certain limit when it comes to autoland in crosswind conditions. Above the limit means autopilot disconnect and hand fly final few hundred feet..

SU 10 live weather clouds are amazing!

I was thinking the same thing too as I trailed behind the 320 in a chase plane 😆 -

The gals and guys at the local bottle shop or “bottle O” as we call them here in Aus, love a good convo with me, I’m there more often than I should be….a white lie is when you buy two bottles of red and tell them the second ones a gift for a mate…Let’s just say I’m a generous friend..

First test flight just taking it from Ballina to Sydney. Great crazy weather. Sounds are much better. Overall performance is good and everything seems much more fluid. Click spots are much better and it just feels much better. Take off was a lot more smoother too and felt natural. UPDATED: Just landed, seems the landing was actually much more co ordinated and felt more real, the ground handling also felt much nicer. You can definitely feel the difference in FM especially within the drag and flap areas. Felt like you had to be a little more involved with SPD management. Great update all thumbs up on my end, also have a friend who used to be FO on A320 in a Aussie airline (hes currently in Miami training on the 747-800 for an American carrier). He is currently testing it too but so far feels the same way as I do.

anybody getting this with the Fenix
rick celik replied to sonny147's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I’m not too sure but I think I recall a real airbus pilot explaining in one of his videos that certain configs of the flight director while landing can trigger a few issues. Don’t hold me to it and not sure if it’s related but it might be worth looking into. -

rick celik replied to Jeff Nielsen's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I’m sure all 3D models are rendered if they have no config options or constraints by LODs. Maybe you’re getting it mixed up with parallax texture techniques? Or maybe I’m misinformed… just my two cents. -

Development update for Majestic Dash 8
rick celik replied to Cyrex1984's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
The ATR etc doesnt really do it for me, the DASH 8 really has something about it that I love. There was nothing like standing at the fence at Sydney airport near runway 25 on a windy day and the small -200/-300's battling the wind almost looking like they are about to stall. I say "was nothing like" because I had time back then to plane watch as a youth... still plenty of dash 8s flying around YSSY. The Q400 is a nice looking plane IMO, however I remember reading somewhere that the pilots hate landing it. -

Just Flight Fokker F28 Fellowship
rick celik replied to Donka's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Its a simulator calm down. You can do milk runs in the a380 from Sydney to Melbourne. Sick of people thinking you need to adhere strictly to current world fleet and routes. The best part about it is, you don't even have to buy it...- 21 replies

EFB for PMDG 737 will possibly come in October
rick celik replied to Fiorentoni's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Personally I don’t think the 380 will take anything away from the 747. As mentioned before we’ve never had a quality a380… I can remember Abacus and I think POSKY made one… and I would’ve rather paid for the POSKY one with no system depth or cockpit. But guess who charged money for it? Also the 380 and 747 both have their respective flight models and system operations, no one’s always adhering to strict fleet and operational routes. I can’t do long flights anymore I get too bored and life…. But best believe I’ll be flying the 380 and 747 from Sydney to Melbourne or Brisbane and vice versa. -
Looks beautiful!

There will be flying EFBs by the time they bring their one out. But to be honest I’m just waiting on the 800 and of course the one and only queen of the skies.
