Hi folks, sitting on board or on the ground I wonder that aircrafts seemingly cut through clouds without any effect. Despite the fact that they displace air and moisture by their bodies and induce a lot of turbulence by fuselage, wings, and wing tips, almost nothing can be seen from this. Except trail cons produced by the plane itself give us a hint, but you know what I mean. But I remember a photograph I made back in 2005 from the displacement and turbulence behind a Fokker 50 or so. After their take-off in EDDT they passed an apparently very thin cloud layer, and for the first time I could see what is was missing (so desperately 8^)... On the right hand side you can even see the effect fading away, as the aircraft left the cloud layer. Who else can share some snapshots like this? Thanx in advance!

Here's a great mod from Sabach, just wanted to share it with you guys incase you haven't already heard about it. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=66227 This is a great mod that will enhance the sky colors and fix the terrible default looking clouds in X-Plane 10. It's an ongoing development so things will get better as the project moves on. But so far this looks much better than the original.

Clouds are usually the main concern when talking about FPS. But with my system I believe I can handle heavy clouds when using real world weather. I'm using REX, however even in thunderstorm or poor weather condition,my cloud still doesn't look heavy like it should be. It only appears in block and block and I still can see the ground. I love sitting in the VC and look at the heavy cloud bellow. Never satisfied though. Sorry because I don't know how to explain, I will give a real picture as example, how can I set my Fs9 cloud to look like this? _http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/2/5/9/2107952.jpg

fsx-se ASN and "similar effect" to cloud depction
riccardo74 posted a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi guys, while in cruise I have a strange effect using ASN. Seems like if some clouds (not big ones, but little clouds especially) are not completely depicted and they become completed as long as my aircraft it's near them. I noted this effect especially on cruise in VC. Not tested in spot view. I'm using ASN with all default settings. It's a layer problem or something else in your opinion? It's not a popping effect (like in ASE), seems like if clouds is partially drawn and become complete as long as my aircraft approach them. Any helps or suggestion? Thanks so much in advance for your help. -
Hey guys,I can't seem to get rid of stutters. I just upgraded to the GTX 560 1GB card and still in the heavy clouds I max out the card at 100% and the stutters start. I know there has to be something wrong if a 2004 program is maxing out a 2010 card. I run AS6.5 and REX Overdrive when this happens. This first picture is showing what FS9 looks like when the card load is max:And this shot is of my inspector settings for FS9 and my card:Does anyone have some suggestions to why this is happening and anyone with the GTX 560 card could possibly share their settings? I also cant max out FS9 settings. I can't get mip mapping above 6 without performance hit and the weather settings can't max either.Any help would be great! Thanks!
