  1. Hi I have just purchased this product and it is running as it should apart from no actual engine fire visual. Failures are turned on and I have selected Engine Fire 1 within the FMC in the PMDG 737 failures. Lights and sound all work as they should as does the FO announcements but when I look from outside at the engine it shows no sign of being on fire. What am I doing wrong please. Ivan
  2. Anyone who's flown to/from Manchester Airport in the past 10 or so years will know that there's a rather large mockup of a 747 by the runway... Here it is on fire. Unfortunately no Kerosene burns today as the wind would have blown the smoke straight over the runway threshold... So we substituted that with 700 kilos of LPG. A tad better than a day in the office. Pretty warm out there. You like??
  3. Hey Guys, I found this on YouTube yesterday and thought it was awesome. Ha! the cabin crew make the situation sound way more scary with all that screaming. Didn't see this video already posted on here.
  4. An excerpt from CNN today: QUOTE: Vacuum causes $400M damage to nuclear submarine A fire last month aboard a U.S. nuclear submarine that caused more than $400 million in damage may have been caused by a vacuum cleaner, the Navy said Wednesday. "Preliminary findings indicate the fire started in a vacuum cleaner used to clean work sites at end of shift, and stored in an unoccupied space," the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Congressional and Public Affairs Office said in a news release. "Specific details as to the cause and subsequent damage assessment are still being evaluated as part of ongoing investigations and will be released at a later date." Public Affairs Officer Deb White said she did not know what kind of vacuum cleaner had been implicated in the blaze or whether the same machine was used by any other nuclear submarines. UNQUOTE Tom's prognostications... It was not a Dyson! Why? Dyson's don't catch fire. Why? Dyson's don't cost $15,000. Why? Dyson's suck too hard to exist in a Submarine environment. Why? Dyson's are not rated "SUB SAFE". Why? Dyson's are made by a guy with a funny accent! :LMAO: Seriously... As an American taxpayer, and as someone who has some knowledge of submarine equipment requirements, I find this totally amazing, if true. And just in the interest of full disclosure, in my time in the U.S. Navy, submarines were always targets! A smoking vacum cleaner hanging from the search scope would have been a target too great to ignore. :Nerd:
  5. Hello all, First, obviously an incredible aircraft. Tried to play another game for 5 minutes today but quickly went back to flying this incredible piece of software! Anyhou, for the problem. When I load instant replay (usually a landing), the plane 'flies' back to the starting point of the replay, but always hits the ground first which causes the NGX to become a giant fireball which never stops. It's annoying, because it happens after each replay and once you end the replay the plane is still on fire. Perfectly usable, except a flaming inferno. Anyone else have this issue? Joshua Weinstein
  6. I think some people might find this informative, it confuses me but makes me want the AOA Training ASAP! These are not my videos he goes by the username "skysurfer007" on YouTube. I'm sure he's on these forums as well. Also he's a RL -800 pilot. And he may have a few suggestions/wishlist for the FMC/FMS that are not modeled in the PMDG NGX that maybe we can get updated in the future. Part 1 Part 2
  7. hello guys I am new to the forum and the ngx and I was just needed some clarification please. During tutorial 2 I was testing the cargo fire system, on the tutorial it states that after I push the master fire warn system to cancel the bell, The FWD, AFT, DETECTOR FAULT, EXTINGUISHER, and DISCH lights all stay illuminated. however I get the AFT, FWD, DISCH and green EXTINGUISHER lights but not the DETECTOR FAULT LIGHT in the right corner above the DISCH. I was just wondering if I have missed something or if that is normal. sorry if this has already been asked or is a stupid question, thank you.
  8. Hi everybody, I just try the service based failures system (multiplier 10x), and I first experience the FWD CARGO FIRE LOOP B, that I service after landing the aircraft. Then I had the AFT CARGO FIRE LOOP A, that I service after landing as well. And now, I have the ENG 2 FIRE LOOP B FAULT. Actually, I'd like to know if I'm doing things properly. Each time I have the CARGO FIRE messages, I arm the corresponding button on the overhead, then I press for 1 second the DISCH button just under (as indicated in the corresponding fire protection checklist. Then I had several failures that appears (Cargo Dump bottle squib, etc...). I service all these failures, then I refill the fire bottle, and I start a new flight. Do I do thing the right way ? And how do I have to handle the ENG 2 FIRE LOOP B FAULT failure ? What does these failures means ? I don't really understand what '"LOOP" means... (sorry I'm french). Thanks in advance.
