Nvidia Drivers

Featured Replies

There had been considerable discussion on the P3D forum concerning the best drivers. There had been some newer drivers which had some new controversial features, and of course the on going discussions about the SLI issues. Since I am spending a little more time with XPX these days, and had not really seen any major discussions concerning drivers for XPX, I got curious as to who was using what drivers and why.

Any input?

Exact! Me too! I had to roll back to 337.88 after i had installed the last drivers...dont know why :-(

I stuck with 337.88 for a long time too but the latest (official - sorry not at home and can't remember the number) driver from Nvidia works well for me with threading optimisation turned OFF. This gets rid of stutters.

Yes I also have threading off and it works well for me. Let us know when you  get a chance.

Using the newest, that was released with the 960 card. Geforce 980.

I'm stuck with 344.75 since 337.88 won't install on my GTX970. VASI lights still working in 344.75, but some say the shimmer is still there. Couldn't tell ya, since I never experienced the earlier 337.88 drivers..

It's worth noting as well that although a driver might work well and be optimised for DirectX (i.e. FSX/P3D), it's OpenGL support (for X-Plane) might be worse/better. So, just because something works well with FSX, doesn't mean it's going to be the best on X-Plane.

337.88

Nvidia GTX550Ti 1GB driver version 347.25 (FS9.1, FSX Accel, P3D V2.4 and X-Plane 10-32).

All previous versions mentioned in this topic have also worked for me.

I've seen no difference in driver updates.  I have a GTX 970 4GB Superclocked card so some of the earlier drivers (344.x) won't work as they were developed before this card was released.  I'm currently using 347.25 with no complaints, but I have a very fast system.
