September 15, 200916 yr Twitter feed would be a good start! Also, the fact that people are asking questions and wanting updates is a good thing. it means there's a buzz about the products because, via reputation, they know the product is going to be good. Build on the buzz and the enthusiasm, it's got to be worth it in the end when it comes time to sell the finished product. What would be more useful would be discussions about things that we like/dislike about their products now. For instance, in the J41, I really like the ramp manager, its kind of neat way to manage things. In the MD11, I like the FS shortcuts in the FMS, the lots of multiple panel states and, perhaps most helpfully, the ability to pull up the MSFS flight plans through the FMS, rather than having to convert or input. Both the J41 and MD11, in my experience, generally integrate better with the MSFS default controls which you can spend more time working the plane rathe than reprogramming your yoke. In the 747, I like that things like gross weight and other inputs can be pulled up through the FMS rather than manually input.Things I don't like are the lack of FP integration for the 747 and the J41 (although the flights are shorter so its not a big deal. Inputing a 12 hour flight into the FMS is frankly a chore. I don't like the MD-11 requires that we write down some numbers from load manager and then input them into the FMS. Ideally, we could just click on the field in the FMS like we do in the 747. And the lack of an FS shortcut thing in 747 is unfortunate. I think its safe to say (and Ryan has mentioned this before) that they get a little better each time they do a plane. I know I am looking forward to the NGX whenever it may come out, and hope that it includes some of the best features of all the planes. September 15, 200916 yr I don't like the MD-11 requires that we write down some numbers from load manager and then input them into the FMS.I'm using TopCat for this. More info available here http://www.topcatsim.com This is one of the best aircraft addons I've used. It's working with FS9 and FSX. Christian's support is also great and he replies very fast on his forum. By the way Christian is a real pilot.Regards, Peter Belgium Flightsimulator is not a simulation, it's a way of life ...

From what I remember you do exactly what you describe. You click the FMS LSK and it automatically fills the numbers for you.
September 15, 200916 yr It will be available some time in 2010.Doh, Vin, fatal mistake. You just know that that'll be misinterpreted! Jan 1st there'll be a shedload of posts saying "Well, it's 2010, where is it?". That'll then be followed throughout the year with "It is sometime in 2010...". Plus, of course, it is now "a promise" :( Bill Casey

The tutorial instructs to write them down/ remember them and input. Its a minor annoyance, but if you can actually skip that that's news to me. For some reason, I think I tried doing it by just clicking on it and got some FMS error message. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers

That means 15 days till it's release. WOOO HOOO!!!!!RegardsRichie Richie Walsh
September 15, 200916 yr Who needs NGX updates? :( Back to flying the JS41.EDIT: We just got some updates like a month ago!
September 15, 200916 yr I demand to know what Cap Robert had for dinner last night!! And, while we're on it - I also demand to know what kind of car Vin drives!!...come on guys, let em' work on it. They just released quite possibly the most realistic simulation of an airplane and you can't give them a little while to get some solid work done. But hey, you're right - it's almost Christmas. A really, really warm Christmas. Apparently Thanksgiving never even happened? Blake Williams

September 16, 200916 yr While I am looking forward to the 737NGX/NG2.0, I can honestly say that I am having so much fun with the PMDG JS4100 that it doesn't bother me one bit that I don't have a good 737 in my hangar. The 737 has always been my favorite plane and right now all I have is the default. I've thought about getting the Airane Design 737-800 X2 Advanced, but I don't know how great it really is and I can't see spending the money on it when I know I will buy the NG2.0 from PMDG when it's released. While I would rather see time and effort being put into the sim, I do love the twitter idea Vin spoke about. In the meantime, the JS4100 will keep me busy for months and years to come.Chad
September 16, 200916 yr Doug,I took a look at the manual. You have to right click. That's for the ZFW, ZFWCG, and TOCG.Mike, thanks, I did not know that. I don't think that's in the tutorial, which I think should be. My one other beef with the MD11 is the massiveness of the manual. I read through a bunch of it, but sorry an 800 + page pdf (or whatever the big one is) makes it hard to read. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
September 16, 200916 yr but sorry an 800 + page pdf (or whatever the big one is) makes it hard to read.I agree. PMDG please take note and make your next manual around 750 pages instead :( Graham
