October 19, 200916 yr Commercial Member Thank's Vin.Although this issue did not came up before SP1 :)That's because pre-SP1 didn't have the rain effects. Those use polygons and animations (ala what the Lotusim L-39 does). We've hit some sort of limit in FSX that's only appearing on certain systems and it causes the artifacts to start up when you cross it. We're trying to determine what the limit is and why it's system specific... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
October 19, 200916 yr Thank you Ryan for that Information, I wasn't aware of that. Good luck finding this limit :) best regards, Alexander Barger
October 19, 200916 yr Could this limit have been reached by the 747X and caused the disappearing textures that I and some others have experienced?
October 30, 200916 yr Installed SP1 and I get the same graphical anomalies flashing across the screen. I will try Vin's temporary fix. Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
October 30, 200916 yr Same problem here. I do hope you decide to issue a fix, flying without the icing effects is a big step backwards. November 1, 200916 yr Can someone please tell me what I need to add to the config file to select the VC option with no ice? I have to do it manually because the damn Configuration Manager never saves anything :( Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

I have to do it manually because the damn Configuration Manager never saves anything :(Did not test it, but I think you can do it this way:go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100\model open file model.cfg change the line "interior=..\Model.VC\pmdg_j41_interior" into "interior=..\Model.VC\pmdg_j41_interior_NO_ICE" for no ice and no props change it to "interior=..\Model.VC\pmdg_j41_interior_NO_ICE_NO_WINGS" Good luck!
November 1, 200916 yr Thanks, Pieter.Does the Configuration Manager fail to save the changes because I am using Vista64 with UAC enabled? If I want to change anything in files like the model.cfg file, I need to drag the file to the desktop before I am allowed to modify it. November 1, 200916 yr Well, I came across one thing causing the problem. I never had an issue with vc glitches until this morning. I downloaded and installed an AFCAD file, and after starting FSX I had the glitches. Each time I used the space bar to scan around the graphics would be all messed up. I then uninstalled the AFCAD, restarted FSX and everything was back to normal. So maybe this will help the PMDG team, maybe not. I thought it was worth reporting.Curt Branch Curt Branch
November 4, 200916 yr Sorry to bring this up again, but I installed another AFCAD and I had the vc problems again. I don't understand the conflict between adding .bgl files in the addon scenery/scenery folder and the JS4100, but it's real. Once I delete the AFCAD, all is back to normal. I guess my system is right up against what the video card can process, adding anything more overwhelms it.Curt Branch Curt Branch
December 9, 200916 yr Could it be that your AFCAD, for which ever airport it is, is adding traffic or other objects to the equation?Perhaps an indication of your system specs, setup, and FSX settings, such as autogen, mesh, AI traffic, scenery complexity, and so on, to get a feel for the load on your system...I haven't seen any of these graphics anomalies being listed or mentioned here... though I don't push my slider settings too far over for my system and do not use any of the aircraft or ground traffic AI...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
December 10, 200916 yr I mentioned in another thread that rebuilding the fsx.cfg file fixed all my graphical issues. I then had one flight where graphic flaws came back, but none since. It's become unpredictable, but happens so rarely now I'm not too concerned. I have started adding AFCAD files again without issue.Curt Curt Branch
