I appreciate it, I'm sure everyone else here will too.
Agreed.I have all CS aircraft, except the C130 (just not so much into military planes). I have always been very pleased with all of them, except that my FPS just aren't as high as I would want. But for the rest, they work and work well for me. I never got any big bugs or anything, but then again, I suppose I just never noticed any bugs because I'm not very specialized. If I can get the plane up and running and can do my flight, all is well.

I can remember a time when it was open season on Captain Sim on this forum, with some really negative stuff posted about them. How much of it was true I honestly don't know...What I do know is I picked up their C-130 and 757 in previous

I was all excited about this sale and when it came to Friday, I completely forgot about it. This sucks.

Then there is the clever head games played which usually start out with a catchy

I also held off buying CaptainSim planes due to bad forum publicity. I went ahead this time and got the C130 - took about 45 minutes from start of order process to download, installation and first fantastic flight. Way to go Captain Sim! Great plane and manuals - easy and efficient order process. Howard

I think back in the day the problems with CaptainSim were on the customer service side, as well as their "Block" methods for releasing planes and updates. Things like slow/never to released repair patches, and airplane system update blocks which were advertised but slow/never to come were a leading conversation starter. Thankfully, lots of that is behind the company because they eventually did repair and create that which they had hoped. In essence, most everything is whole at this point, and there's no reason to complain anymore! (*there might be a product that still isn't complete in the eyes of some customers, but I'm not experienced enough with it to know which one) I didn't buy during this sale, but earlier in the year I purchased the C-130 FSX package, and I've been quite pleased with it. The purchase and download process was smooth, and the product itself certainly lives up to the reputation for detail that CS has. I bought the "deluxe" package so as to avoid any and all "block" purchase methods... just to be safe!I think CaptainSim and their products have matured a bit, and thus the experience is far better than it may have been back in the past. This is a benefit to CS and their customers, both new and old. I would have had no qualms in taking advantage of their recent sale for more FSX products, but their library at this point isn't of great interest to me right now other than what I have already. -Greg

I've had many of CS products, and always was happy with them. I was a bit surprised that they had such a bad rep for a time, but I think it is mostly undeserved. Probably CS would do well for themselves if they tidied up their support forums instead of so many replies such as: ""This question has already been answered. Please search the knowledge database etc etc." instead of just taking the extra time and write a sentence to help someone out.

I really wanted to get into the 757 but I found the taxi physics to be absolutely atrocious. Is anyone else seeing this problem? -Alex

What specific problem are you having with 'taxi'?

I bought the 767 on last sale. Took off, threw on the autopilot, selected heading, and level change. The thing started rocking back and forth 20 degrees left and right. I then laughed, closed FS. I continued to uninstall the addon. I have to say after all these years CS has been around, "Come on already". You can't even design a plane that holds heading properly? First and LAST purchase of CS. I will stick with the big boy add-ons.

Install an older version of FSUIPC and the problems go away.
Isn't it a shame that it works this way?I also bought 3 titles for the first time and am more than pleased.
Hey now...It's easy to say how great the CS aircraft are....now after a few patches. It's also easy to forget all of those who pointed out the faults in the CS aircraft, and fault the battle with CS so that they would release patch and so that you can enjoy them months or years after release. If you are enjoying the CS aircraft NOW...please at least thank those who bought the planes BEFORE you and fought the good fight so that CS would take notice and provide a patch so that EVERYONE could enjoy the finished product.I know developers complain about complainers and indeed some complain just to complain, but I wonder if everyone would like this hobby as much if no one pointed out faults. Some of CS's reputation is earned and not all hot air by whiners.Just sayin'

Taxiing takes getting used to. You turn, and it makes a big change, then it takes awhile to respond to turn the other way. I agree it is not ideal, and I like Quality Wings' taxiing better. Having said that, I have gotten used to it, and haven't even noticed it until flying the QW a bit.I've liked Captain Sim for a long time now, ever since the 727 first came out. Not everything about them, but enough to make them among my favorites. I think they've learned from the past, and the block release system's demise is not lamented. There are weird issues on a small percentage of people's systems, and I think I am among that percentage. That has to be a tester issue, I would say. There is nothing exotic about my Dell XPS 430, as far as I know, but while the 757 4.3 worked, the 4.4 rocked violently until I installed an older FSUIPC. And not just ANY older FSUIPC, because I tried it with three versions before I found the one that solved my rocking problems. (Thanks PPFSA.)I do know that Captain Sim is aggressively pursuing corrections now, and can't wait for the 707, and 767-400. I think their 767 is their best modern airplane, with overall honors going to the 727. The 757 isn't bad at all, unless you happen to be one of the ones that gets the rockin' and rollin'.I am also looking forward to the McPhat UHDT liveries for the 757, so long as my 757 keeps behaving.

Hi all-I bought the CS757 during their sale, and am having ups and downs with it. I first experienced the side to side violent rocking phenomenon, but after uninstalling, and then reinstalling FSUIPC (the most recent version) it has appeared to stop; however, I have not done enough testing to confirm this. I was interested in trying an older version of FSUIPC, but I was unsure of what version to use, or where to find one, as Pete Dowson's site only appears to have the most recent version. Could someone please advise on this? Also, when using the autopilot, I have noticed that it overshoots any selected heading or altitude by a fair amount (30 degrees in some cases). Has anybody else experienced this? So far, this appears unrelated to FSUIPC, but as I said earlier, I need to do more testing to confirm.Lastly, does anybody know of a decent American or United Airlines (NC) repaint for the 757? The files that come up here on Avsim can't be downloaded. I presume they were lost in the crash. Thanks, Phil

FSUIPC 4.3 works for me, I happened to have an old version. You can try explaining the problem and seeing if Pete will help with it over at his forums: http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54There may be help on the CS forums from other users as well.http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=757fsxIt's going to take some searching. For the repaints, I believe they are available from CS, and as I recall they are McPhats, the best there is. I know United is there, not sure about AA
