January 7, 201016 yr I'm curious why Chinese people would love that? The number 8 is associated with prosperity and confidence in Chinese culture, according to the Wikipedia page for the 2008 summer Olympics in China. This was the key reason for the opening ceremonies being on August (the 8th month) 8, '08, at close to 8:08:08pm (again, according to the same Wikipedia page). My FS9 is 24.3GB. Declared weather: FSX: ASN / FS9: ASE
January 7, 201016 yr I've been on a real aircraft and scenery download "feeding frenzy" over the past 3 months or so, flying in Russia, the Ukraine, Greece, Turkey, all over Eastern Europe and Asia so mine's at 87 gig and going strong right now. My archived downloads that I keep on a separate drive is 4 x that size. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. January 7, 201016 yr I try to be ruthless with the active FS9 install folders, and move stuff out to the storage hanger regularly.Actually I have another FS9 install which is just on 15GB, and it's a real pleasure for a quick fly - loads up in 10 seconds and incredibly smooth, even with FRAPS running.
January 8, 201016 yr Wow! With all these variances in smooth running Flight Sim installs, it appears to me that the old addage may just be true: "Size DOESN'T matter!"
