February 24, 201016 yr Play along if you don't mind!I'm (still) on the fence on moving from 1680 x 1050 to 1920 x 1200 do to concerns on performance impact in not only FSX, but a few other entertainment titles. Upon a 4th look (!) on Tom's graphics cards charts, it would appear maybe an average of 15-18% less frames at 1920 x on other titles, and I guess FSX is real minimal impact too. I still miss my 1600 x 1200 samsung but those are very hard to come by now in gaming type displays. 120Hz is a thought, but may be issues with text fuzziness. So, if you will, vote on your preferred display resolution LCD.Thanks!Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. February 24, 201016 yr Moderator My girlfriend bought me a Samsung SyncMaster 2333 for Christmas. It's 23" running at 1920 x 1080 and when used with the equipment in my sig I have no different FPS or performance than I did with my prior 19" 4:3 screen that was 1280 X 1024. Why don't you just buy one at your local Best Buy or something and if you dont like it or makes too much hit in performance then you can return it? That way you dont have to spend a lot of time trying to decide. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 24, 201016 yr Commercial Member My experience on 2560x1600 30" DellThe virtual cockpit is outstanding. However, and depending on the complexity of your aircraft and the scene in general, I sometimes find it necessary to drop out of full screen mode into a smaller windowed mode in order to obtain a resonable FPS and smoothness. In some places there's quite a cliff to fall down when the resolution gets beyond a certain value. I can't say for sure what it is, but I would guess my window size is around the 2000x1300 mark. May also be a factor of my GTX275, other cards may do better. If I was choosing over again, I'd probably buy 1080p and run full screen permanently.Simon www.supertrafficboard.com

February 24, 201016 yr I still use the old school 5:4 res 1280x1024.... I'm on a 19in viewsonic LCD... I play a lot of old games and I think they wouldn't display correctly on a widescreen panel. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 24, 201016 yr 1920x1200 on a Samsung 245BW. I like low and slow flights in bush country. Lovely! :( ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
February 24, 201016 yr I find that matching my FSX res with my desktop res gives the best performance, so it's 1680 x 1050 for me. Best, Michael KDFW
February 25, 201016 yr 1280 x 1024 for FSX, as it provides a few extra FPS on my rig. 1600 x 1200 for everything else. Alexander Alonso
February 25, 201016 yr My monitor's resolution is 1920 x 1080...so that's what I do. Why would I do another resolution? Am I missing something?Stan
