It seems we have another developer that's went FSX only. CLS has decided to make their latest MD80 FSX only. You have pretty much bet the course of future development from this company. There goes my hopes of an updated A310 from them for FS9... :( Like what was said before, be happy with what's offered today for FS9 because the future is looking bleaker and bleaker... :(

Bleaker?I have literally TONS of payware aircraft for FS9,and most I hardly ever fly!so for me the future ain't bleak,it will be filled with learning to fly the DA Fokker,Leonardo's Maddog, and countless others, and flying to many wonderfulfree and payware sceneries I haven't even been yet.I say good for them,it'll ensure they are in business whenever I will switch over to FSX.cheersJP.

Thats unfortunate for them. They just lost a customer then. I have the 747-200 and the 767 and enjoy both for FS9. Thats all I fly. Same thing with Carenado. I have every product they made until they decided to go FSX only.Too bad. Not really unexpected, but they just lost a customer. Eric

I agree JP, I meant in terms of new FS9 payware aircraft. Like I said I was hoping for an updated A300/310 from CLS, thought they would be in the FS9 game a bit longer as they produce 'lite' aircraft...

Thank goodness you posted this in the "right" forum...JP is right though. We still have lots of payware to entertain ourselves. We'll get the FSX goodies once we decide (or be able) to run FSX. We'll get more time running FSX though, we'll get more juice, if you will, out of FSX.

I must say that I am surprised by CLS's decision. :( Their Maddog model looks really nice and I would love to have had it in FS9. :(

To this point, with the exception of the Mooney, what product has Carenado made for FSX/FS9 that does not have a counterpart in the other sim?... :(

I am not a big fan of "lite" aircraft so it's no big loss really.Apart from eye candy kiddies, who really cares if the CLS MD-80 is FSX only when we have the legendary Leonardo Maddog!?Cheers,Dave

Well the eye candy kiddies of course. Why do flightsimmers think others have to fly the way they do or use the sim they do.This kind of attitude is really tiresome.I personally love the hardcore stuff but probably more do not. :( No offense Dave as I am sure you are talking lightly....but I have read some rubbish on the forums recently. :(

Agreed

Agreed again. FWIW I purchased two FS9 sceneries yesterday and have yet to purchase the Maddog 2008 and PMDG M-11....but will when I am ready. To all FS9 developers I say bring it on...I am going nowhere! :(

Mmmm perhaps I should give the Maddog a go. I'm still happy to buy good FS9 stuff and to be honest, I like FS9 so much, that even when it's time for a new comp (hopefully about 3 years away) I'll probably still keep FS9. Nothing against FSX or FSX users, but, I don't know, it just seems a bit odd to me. My opinion only, though!

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

edetroit I am sure you are old enough to realise the forum is all about opinion and is as such subjective. To many your posts may appear as "rubbish" and tiresome also :( I will have the good grace not to point that out to you.I do not think anyone should fly the way I do, what an amusing conclusion to draw from my post! Each to their own, squire.Dave

A message I wrote in the CLS forum:

Looking at our sales for the 767, its quite clear that by far the most people have gone over to FSX.
CLS competed directly with the LVD-767. I asked you personally for an updated A300/310 which would have sold 10 times over the 767 series in FS9, you refused. What did you end up doing, elect not to respond to anyone's post on the subject and 'SURPRISE' the 767 hit the market. How many people said in various forums, "NOT ANOTHER 767"??? Your outfit makes these kinds of decisions and expect people to just buy (especially in this market) when there's a more serious alternative available. I don't care about the fact you guys produced different versions of the 767, most couldn't justify the purchase when they already had the LVD version in their hangers. You refused to listen to anything your customers where posting here or in any forum... I got one for you, 'Make something no one else has made and see what happens', but your not going to do that. Your going to tuck your tail between your legs and throw the baby out with the bath water... Try a 717, Fokker, or the aforementioned updated A310. I find it tiresome the same old sorry excuse and then demonize a whole community for your lack of vision. It may be a good choice your MD-80 is FSX only when on the FS9 side of things there's the Leonardo MD80. A CLS MD80 wouldn't sell well in FS9 period and I can tell you that before it's official release, good choice with the FSX only option here. What's sad is you want to move forward with FSX only without listening to your customers to really find out what went wrong (well actually I think you know the answer to that and the solution is to jump ship). When there's a hardcore variant like the Leonardo MD80 that's well polished a 'lite' version is not going to compete well in most cases. In the case of the PMDG MD11 (another bag of excuses) you tell me which would have sold better for FS9, a MD11 or an updated 737NG. They release the dude MD11 first and fly off in a huff that it didn't sell well. People screamed for an updated 737NG series and got ignored. Now I guess your next bird out the gate will be a 717 or updated A300/310 for FSX only (the very birds that would sell well for FS9)...You guys kill me with this crap....
