You should have tried my day yesterday - 16 dogs being groomed and photographed at my wife's new dog grooming salon business, with a full photo studio set up and all the dog owners fussing about! Trying to keep all that under control, serve drinks, make sure everyone was happy etc. And that was after a week of me re-concreting the floor, then tiling it, plus recovering the walls, the counters and painting it all, in order to be ready for that day. To say I am aching a bit would be an understatement. That's what hitting a deadline can do to you!Back on topic, I think I would rather see the Aerosoft Airbus delayed a bit and then released without problems, which is an infinitely preferable way to do business as opposed to releasing something that people might have problems with, and potentially taking money off customers who can't install it or some such.In the grand scheme of things, waiting a few weeks is not a big deal if the product that comes out is then good to go, whereas releasing something that is not complete would certainly cause a lot of ill will. We have seen plenty of examples of software getting shoved out of the door before it is ready in the software business, merely to meet a deadline - often with the shaky promise of sorting it out after the fact - and we know how shoddy that can be in terms of business and reputation. Just look at the debacle Airsimmer have on their hands from doing it that way.Al

Too bad. Had they released it today I'd steal my mother's credit card and used it up to buy on the first day!

I would never take off in any virtual aircraft without Big Clanger, my trusty canine co-pilot at my side. He normally keeps his extensive knowledge of aircraft a secret, for fear of becoming regarded as a freak, however, I did manage to covertly snap these two pictures of him at work in a darkened room, with my phone camera. The need to photograph him secretly accounts for the poor quality of the pics, but as you can see, he was indulging in a little light reading, with Airways magazine. Later I spotted him comparing the various merits of the Boeing 737NG with the A320, with my Standard Operating Procedures manual for the A320 and the 737 Technical Guide.Later that evening, he pointed out to me that my approach speed was 2 knots too fast on the 737 I was landing and that I would have been better using a bit less flap in the gusty conditions and maintaining the target speed, to improve the inertia in overcoming potential windshear issues. Dogs are really smart; he's an invaluable resource for things like that and it is in fact Big Clanger who writes the Avsim reviews that I claim the credit for.clanger2.jpgclanger1.jpgAl

Not true that the Wilco is a FS9 model, if it wasn't FSX compliant, it wouldn't be able to have a separate interior model, which as we all know is only possible with FSX models. I happen to be flying with the A319 now, merged with the Project Airbus external model (I do agree the Wilco exterior model is not that good). As further proof, GameCam which I use to do videos with, can not record when I'm using any FS9 modeled aircraft. It whites out, this has been a problem with FSX SP1 when in foggy conditions, but it is in all conditions with FSX SP2. I have no such problem recording the Wilco A320. System wise it's not that bad, it handles LNAV, VNAV ok, and models 3 of the 4 FBW flight protection laws. The only one that doesn't work is the overspeed protection. Autoland is also done ok, although it tends to initially dip below the glide slope a little bit on GS intercept, but recovers quickly. Other than that I have no problems with it.
Try entering a LAT/LON waypoint west of 0 degrees sometime in the FMGC on the Airbus Vol. 1 series -- it will always flip it back to the east. At least, this happens in my experience. This bug makes it really tough to simulate things like the BA A318 service between LCY and JFK! :-( Thankfully, this works correctly in the Vol. 2 series.Unfortunately, as Wilco has shown little interest in fixing basic problems like this after several years, I am stuck waiting for something better to come along. I hope either Aerosoft, Airsimmer, or FlightSimLabs will be able to deliver the real deal. I am rooting for all of them. And don't even get me started on the bugs in the Wilco 777... :-(I will give Wilco (actually feelThere) their due, though, and mention that I have really enjoyed the recent E-Jets and ERJv2 add-ons.
what are you laughing about? name an airplane that was delivered on time and with no issues?
777......

my understanding is that this issue was corrected back in eary 2008. the concern has not been reported on any feelThere forum since late 2007. what release version of the Abus v1 are you using?support forum -http://forum.iemit.comrelease version information on the airbus v1 -http://www.wilcopub.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=support_airbus1--

Get a greyhound - mine gets up at noon, poops, runs a few laps around the yard, eats and is back on the couch by 1:00. Sometimes he won't even get off the couch for treats.

I just flew that flight last week (JFK-LCY BA flight 2), using the real flightplan (taken from fightaware) absolutely no problem!

Thanks
