Another option you may have already considered is staying at the University of Wisconsin residences.
That is in fact another option I'm considering. The only problem I forsee is that the bus only makes one trip in the late afternoon, meaning that if one wished to attend any of the evening lectures, movies, presentations or whatever, they'd wind up having to either take a cab (good luck with that!), or walk... :(

I was seriously thinking of going next year. Fly out from San Diego, then rent a motorhome, stay at the event. That way I could just easily walk back and forth to the events and have AIR CONDITIONING! (Humid that time of year out there?). Anybody here done something like this? Reasonable space rates? Should I devote an entire week or would 4-5 days be more than enough?Clutch

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

I'm seriously thinking about renting a good sized popup camper trailer for next year, and spending more than two days... :(
My Dad and I took a pop-top camper a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. With the pop-top, campground showers and on site grocery store, we were comfortable, dry, and eating well. Staying in the campground made it convenient to attend the evening activities and we didn't have to deal with the traffic and parking everyday. I recommend you also take bicycles and a portable bar-b-que. If you arrive before Airventure starts you can ride your bikes inside the exhibition fence to all the different areas and watch the planes arrive. After the event begins, bikes are prohibited inside but you can still ride from your campsight to the gate you want to enter at.

That was quite a visit Eteinne. Thanks to Gregs hospitality. Drop me an email sometime and let's catch up.. :(
Hey, no kidding. I remember after the show we went to our house for BBQ. IIRC you were there as well as Bill Leaming, and some other guy (a 3d modeller?!) but heck, I can't seem to remember exactly (Owen Hewitt??? I really don't know). Do you have any pics of that "event" by chance??

I did it one year. I don't remember the rates but we were on a person's private property. We brought bikes and rode them everywhere. Since I have always done it last minute due to not knowing my work schedule soon enough so I got into the routine of flying to Green Bay. Hotels are easy to get their, less costly, and they have a shuttle from there-about a 35 minute ride. No problem picking up an ifr clearance to get out.Another option which I have done is to go on priceline the day before you go. Often pilots don't show up due to weather and cancel at the last minute. I got a room in a 4 star hotel within a mile of kosh for $50 doing it that way.

Bicycle(s) are a must, unless you particularly like up to 2-3 mile hike everytime you visit your campsite...If you carry a portable bar-b-que, make certain that it is propane or gas powered. No charcoal or wood fires are allowed.Chuck, are you implying that I'm F A T? Well, I am! But still, I look downright skinny when compared to Friar Tuck! :(

Whoa, I must be gettin old lol. Just had a prob remembering the name, while I still seem to remember how he looked like, sorta. :( Thanks for the input. Still wondering if someone got pics of that evening, since I unfortunately don't. :(

I'll try to dig up some others but here are a couple from that year: http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/OS2004FT.htmRented the Archer, picked up Bobby at Midway and we landed Fond du Lac. Daly had closed Meigs but MDW cleared us for the scenic route..
