e-jets v2: who's gonna bite ?

Featured Replies

It works fine in Windows 7 64bit, I'm running through the tutorial flight now without any problems at all.
Interesting- so I wonder why they have the "Only 32-bit systems supported" on their website. is this an error? I would like to get this product, but with Win 7 (64) I'm a little reluctant to.Thanks, Bruce.

What exactly is the difference between the old and the new version?
I just installed version 2 and am trying to figure that out. There are only three liveries included for the 175 being Sirrus, Trip and Royal Jordanian. There are of course McPhat liveries available immediately for additional money. I'm not a 'bit map' person so I probably won't notice small improvements (if any) to the VC interior. I'm on my second flight and it seems to fly very well, just like version 1. It includes MAP and CALL that are normally purchased separately. For me, MAP is solution without a problem. I run Plan-G (free) on a client. In fact in my opinion MAP should be free considering the limited scope. I haven't tinkered with Call so I can't critique that included feature. I'm not sure this purchase makes sense for me. So far no show stoppers or surprises accompanied by a feeling of being underwhelmed for $35 US dollars for a version 2. That of course can change (just like my medication) after I have more time flying this aircraft. Bob..

They have put that for the last 2 products they have released, nobody on the beta team has a 64bit OS so they wont warrant that it will work on a 64bit OS. It didn't stop them from helping people on their forum though when folk with a 64bit OS had a problem.

Cheers, Andy.

Interesting that while sold as "version 2," they're selling two different airplanes and not an update to the E170/E190. I was expecting an update to v1, but their forum states Feelthere doesn't own v1, Wilco does. It's again the same dilema as with the CRJs made by FT for Wilco. David Vega

I think that some of you guys mix up the phrase "supported" and "not running on anything else" :( I'm using 64bit since XP/64 came out so I stumbled upon this phrase quite often. The only problem I had when running aircraft in FSX on a 64bit basis where older installers or some tools like flight plan converters that refused to work on 64bit. But that was some years ago. Most companies still "don't support" the current OS in a 64bit version but their software is running fine all the time. As long as there's a user out there that confirms a successful operation, you're good to go.As for the V2 Jets: They're working fine on 64bitsSurely sad to hear that a company nowadays has a beta tester pool without a up to date OS installation. Must not be the only one as this "not supported phrase" still exists among some other products.Because FSX works fine on 64bit it would be hard to program some specials into an aircraft that nowadays get stuck when running on a modern OS. So I really think that the vast majority of addon planes is able to run fine, on 32 and 64 bit. Even good old ATR (a FS9 portover) and its FS2Crew title are working for example.

Geez...Scoob, tell Vic to bring me back as a beta tester on some future product. I have Win 7 64 so I will be the test case. Maybe that will calm people down. lol...and tell him Shane said hello. I think he remembers me. :(

I bought it as I do like the v1 series.Very disappointed that the HUD is still FUBAR. The flight path vector still does not work correctly, after the Legacy, ERJ v2 and now the this release I was hoping they got it right. Alas, no. Vic had said it was a new HUD for this AC, but not much better.Manual is much better done, with many of the needed numbers, etc. Hopefully repaints will follow.Joe

First of all, to stay on topic, I bought it and it's enjoyable. The resolution of some of the textures seems higher and the added features over and above "v1" are nice.Despite my vociferous criticism of FT/Wilco, I continue to buy from them as:1) They're more good than not (well, FT can be)2) They're prompt3) They're prolific4) They put things out that others only talk about5) The Embraers are one the things they do pretty well - honestly, there's a lot of innovation/high-quality-stuff going on in the product6) The external lights aren't a discotheque light show in the "V2" of the E-jets as they are on the ERJ "V2"So, taken from a vociferous Wilco/FT critic: V.2 of the Ejets is (mostly) good stuff.

v = volumein no location on feelThere's www-site nor forum has there been a reference, by vic or myself, that states 'v.' stands for version.
That's pretty pedantic... Wow.

You got to be kidding me. These things still are not fixed? This is getting ridiculous. Is it legal to charge for a program that knowingly doesn't work?

And all the buggs with it?.....Thanks but No Thanks.

Then maybe do make it very clear. You see, this is the problem: "volume" has got its own acronym: vol., not v. I dare say that pretty much always when I spot a "v", I think of "version" first (with regard to products, that is, like the ERJv2). So do many other people. if you wanted to signifi "volume", then you probably should have written "E-Jets Vol.2".

i'm not understanding what hasn't been clear to questions such as these:"what aircraft are included?"175 and 195."what about the 170 and 190?"no, v2 simulates only the 175 and 195."what is included with v2 besides the 170 and 190?"v2 includes only the 175 and 195 plus e-jet specific HUD, CALL!, and MAP!the above are all answers feelThere has given when asked about 'E-jets v2'.the full product title, on feelThere's site, is Embraer E-Jets v.2 Embraer 175 and 195. the title was announced just over one month ago.--

It seems you have completely missed the point of my post... I was not referring to any of the questions you wrote, so I'm not sure where you got the idea that I don'\t know the answer to them... I was specifically talking about the use of the "v". Please re-read my post... I have nowhere suggested that I have no idea what your product is. I have only talked about the "v", and that you probably should have made it clearer what this "v" means. Many people, including me, just assumed it stands for "version", and thus many people assumed this was a re-release of the first E-jets, but completely fixed and such. Now it suddenly appears to stand for "volume", meaning this is some sort of "second part". That's what should have been made clearer.

I note that the FeelThere product page says that the new V2 E-Jets are only supported on 32-bit versions of Windows. That's pretty short-sighted given that 64-bit OS versions have been mainstream for years now.Oh well, maybe someday they'll make the effort to catch up to their desired customer base.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
And that's exactly why I will not purchase this version, I loved the V1 but the frequent CTD where annyoing, will install a non compatible addon...It's a shame since they were quite nice to fly...

Cheers,

Thomas
