October 24, 201015 yr Congratulations for PMDG and for us too, well I am sick and tired for waiting, however, I will wait forever lol, I don’t know if that was asked before but is there any simulated cabin or rear cameras (for taxiing) ?ThanksAlaa Riad Alaa A. October 24, 201015 yr (I showed this image to a few friends who fly NGs, and they all commented that the cockpit wasn't beat up enough... Go figure...)Definately too shiny as for the average flight deck. Although I have to admit I sat in a brand new aseptic pit recently that came straight from BFI and it certainly had its very own charme. I was dreaming away, not able to stop touching all the controls thinking "you'll never have such a clean pit anytime soon anymore"... One area where this will be very noticeable is the FMC. The FMC has been rewritten from scratch and everything about it oozes realism. It's modeled on the latest U10.8 OP program with full RNP specs and capabilities. No effort has been spared in making it look exactly like the the real CDU, the fonts, colors, even the lag time when you EXEC changes are all exactly like the real aircraft. Not to mention how long an actual route download may take on the real thing... Incredible. Love the 10.8 version. Believe it finally allows arming VNAV on ground as well. Nice. The magenta line drawing algorithms on the ND correspond exactly with how the real aircraft displays your route. Our industry leading VNAV implementation is now even better as well. We support RNP derived procedures such as RNAV, GLS, and IAN with full computer-generated glidepath annunciations. The FMC and AP just WORK, exactly as you'd expect them to as the pilot- no excuses for "oh we didn't model that" when it comes to the autoflight capabilities of this airplane. If you tried something in the airplane, and you try it in this simulator- you will get the same results. That is just how things should be simulated.Sounds like a deal. :(Make this multicrew capable and I'm set ;D That is the plan.Looking forward to this almost more than anything. This would really render it a realistic training tool also for the (actually only realistic) multi-pilot environment... :(Not all NGs have the HUD system. It's an option and yes we have it. It's so cool that we'll probably dedicate a whole post/video to showing it off.If any of you uses TrackIR why not use it for that video to show off collimation. Would sure be an eye catcher. All the colors are customizable, even the hue of the flood lighting. (yes, you'll be able to Pimp Your NGX™ with purple lights at night if you want lol...)Didn't know about that. What would a "usual" color choice be then? Obviously not purple but...?will cpdlc be implemented? please please please incorporate it How should they. Well I would certainly appreciate it as well but who should be on the other side anyways. Still I would love to get at least METARs (if not ATIS like on some real counterparts) on the CDU...Keep the updates coming.

October 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member The only thing i worry about this, is that when sitting in the real aircraft the displays are very high contrasted monitors. The magenta line/FD almost burns in your eye - even in daylight - probably because of the monitor being placed under the MCP.The displays in the real plane do not "burn in your eye" - they're LCD monitor panels, just like what you probably have in front of you right now at your PC. The brightness is completely controllable with the knobs below the screens. I don’t know if that was asked before but is there any simulated cabin or rear cameras (for taxiing) ?737s are not equipped with external cameras - those are only in use on very long aircraft like the 777-300, A340-600 and A380.Didn't know about that. What would a "usual" color choice be then? Obviously not purple but...?Just to be clear here, flood light color choice is not an actual option on the real airplane - it's just something we're including because it was easy to do when we implemented the lighting system. The default will be the accurate real world color, but you'll be able to change it to something else if you like. October 24, 201015 yr Kane> heheAbout proportion i think i have an eye for detail since i've been working as a graphics designer for 14 years - but anyways I have thought about the perspective distortion - but still if you look at the handle it is still quite thin compared to the "thing" (which i dont know what is called) - but still a minor minor detail - and as many others i can't wait. My wallet is also ready - but guess i also need a system upgrade to i7 finally ;) Keep up the great work PMDG and thanks for being here for us enthusiast ;) // Jesper Giørtz-Behrens ------------ Graphics artist for Prosim737 panels
October 24, 201015 yr looks great, but the extrusion on the side of the left/right window above the handle to open the window. Isn't that "thing" too big and thick compared to the real thing? It's the thing right above the window open handle that extrudes from the edge of the left/right windowsLook here Me too, i think you have a point here. The 'bulb' above the handle seems too thick and offset from the handle. On the photo with the real one the 'bulb' has almost the same thickness as the handle and is centered above it.In this particular case the 'then' version looks better. But only that, the rest is stunning. I'm impressed about the way the texture artist has done the ambient lighting on all of the cockpit textures. Thats clearly lightyears ahead over the 2002 NG. October 24, 201015 yr I am going to say that it is probably the angle at which the screenshots/photographs were taken which may be decieving. It looks like there is a decent size gap between that window handle, and the window frame trim in the RW shot. Almost put links to some Airliners.net photos up here, and then remembered it was against the TOS (or something like that)... All you need to do though is go to Airliners.net, go to search photos, select Boeing 737, then in one of the menu's select cockpit shots, set the photos per page to 120, and hit search. You can see said window handles in quite a few shots. In one it looks like a NG in a high right bank, and there looks to me to be at least a 4 to 5in gap in the handle. So depending on your camera angle it could look distored like in their screenshot. There are also several examples where the handle does not line up perfectly with that panel. I am assuming that is from the mechanics having to adjust the window tracking/locking mechanism (do not know as on my helicopters our windows just pop out for EGRESS purposes), but it looks to be a per aircraft thing how the window handles are. There is room in front of, and on top of that handle when it is perfectly lined up with the edge of that panel. Like I said a quick search of the airline site shows that. Might be one of those "quirks" RSR was talking about that people will be thinking are gripes. I personally would be afraid to open the windows in RW as I bet it is a pain in the rear to get them closed/sealed properly again. The manuals will most likely be one of the last things to be done, and I think it has been said before by Ryan, or Robert that it is one of the easiest parts of their process. It is just a matter of finishing development and getting into beta so they know what to, and what not to write in the manual. I am sure like with the MD-11 they will be up at least 1-2 weeks prior to release. Aircraft is looking great in these preview shots (and it knocks the 2002 release out of the park, but that was expected). Can't wait for these in depth systems previews. October 24, 201015 yr From what Ive researched i7 not really nessacery. I got i5 760 which is the quad i5. Only diff is i7 have hyperthreading (something not utilised by fsx) or something. I save alot of money because MOBO was cheaper aswell as cpu. My 3.5 cents.
October 24, 201015 yr These are all really stunning. One random gripe in FS that I wish your add-ons could somehow fix: The incorrect camera/centering of the sim vis-a-vis the cockpit and the centerline. The first set of photos look right. But to FSX, that usually means you are too far left. The second series is what FSX considers centered, but that's not how it really looks: the centerline goes down between the pilots, not under the left seat. If you could somehow fix that as part of the NGX, I would delete all other planes and fly only that. I know you probably can't fix it, but when I saw the first set I was super excited, and then let down by the second set. Minor detail, I know, but it caught my eye. October 24, 201015 yr Everyone here is talking about NGX but, what really impacts me is the old NG. Created for fs2002 and then upgraded for fs2004. And it is still giving so much pleasure. Much better than addons created nowadays. I think indeed it was very advanced for its age.
