There are no plans to offer electronic purchase of the manuals - Boeing does not wish to allow this. Also:Orders are all caught up and subsequent orders should be shipped same day as long as they're placed before 3PM US Central time
Thanks for the answer sir.Best Regards,Bert Van Bulck

That is not what was said. The FCOM and FCTM are already confirmed and we're still trying to work out some legal stuff with including the QRH. These are not stripped down versions, they're PDFs of what are in the actual manuals.
Ryan,That is why I posted this above - In order to clarify "what was said" because "what was said" is spread out over 11 pages of postings in this thread and is difficult to make out since it is a long thread and most of the discussion concerns the manuals on sale now, and not what will be included with the plane as a package. Furthermore, I just saw this thread yesterday and had to try to sort out all of it in one reading so it was quite an ordeal, not that I need to explain why I need clarification. If "what was said" WAS clear, I would not have posted this request for clarification. I hope that clarifies for you, what I said. Can

What was said WAS perfectly clear if you limited yourself to posts by PMDG in persons of Ryan or Robert Randazzo. What was spread over 11 pages was a typical disinformation and speculation spun up by users.

OK, if I did miss something, then why don't you point me to the exact post that answers ALL my questions above? By the way, I just did a advanced search with author "Tabs" for posts between Dec. 5 and 16 and "no results found" came up. That issue regarding the search engine in the avsim forums returning zero results continues and others have had this issue also. So even if I did search (I did look at the PMDG site and these forums before asking the question), the results would have been either zero or unclear. So if you're so "thorough" a person, show me the posting ... then I might believe you. Otherwise, consider this: It is not a crime to ask a question to clarify a matter in a forum. Can

Search for both Ryan's or Robert's posts more into the past and you will find the answer. And if you find them there is no mention anywhere of "shorter, less detailed" documents. (I agree that searching can be very tricky).

What's the big difference between the B&W and Color QRH? Can we have pics? After all, it's 2x the price...
I mean... can we have an example of a section of the QRH or a flight situation where the Color version is superior in some way to the B&W, other than aesthetics?

:wink:Hello everyone!Regarding the price of the NGX and MD11 manuals it seems that the shippingcosts and taxes for an european enthusiast is quiet a bit of the total cost.I´ve seen that there are several retailers in Europe selling boxed products from PMDG. Will anyone of them possible introduce the printed trainingmaterial for the European costumers? That would solve quiet a lot of the problem and maybe even increase the markeqet even more for the products.Lizzard

Yeah, I always hate that when I have to purchase something from Europe and experience the same thing.

I just got the 737 manual and I am really happy about it. Now I am planning on purchasing the 747 and MD-11 manuals, but are those the print versions from the PDF that comes with the program or it's like the 737 manual?

Koichiro-The 737 and 747 manuals are the same as those used by flight crews seeking a type rating on the airplane. The MD-11 manuals are identical to the PDF versions that accompany that program.

Yes, there's hundreds of pages of performance data covering all phases of flight in these.

I see. That means in a near future I might get the real type rating so I MUST buy it! Big%20Grin.gifThanks!:(

Hello, since I have not read anything about getting the NGX-manuals to Germany I'd like to share my experience. Despite ordering a couple of days earlier, because of the backorder my package didn't ship until December 15th. I was lucky enough to receive it today (December 23rd). I used the USPS Express Mail International option. Tracking through USPS actually wasn't half bad. Once the package got to Germany I was able to track further progress through the German DHL tracking (using the USPS tracking code or the newly assigned DHL code). It is a little confusing since the parcel went through customs twice: the first time when arriving in Frankfurt, the second time in the customs office responsible for my area (Mainz). So it got shipped from FRA to Saulheim (major DHL base), then to customs in Mainz, back to Saulheim and then finally to my house. There where no charges to be paid (at least I haven't gotten a letter yet). But it has a "customs approved" sticker on it and as far as I'm aware, DHL usually collects any charges during delivery.Concerning the quality of the manuals: I don't know what exactly the advertised "professionally printed" means (I'd say offset press), but they definitely had some problems with ink transfer on some pages as seen in other posts. Some parts are affected, some not at all - I actually don't mind much since everything is perfectly readable. Why Boeing decided to use inverse colors on all the diagrams is beyond me, you get black fingers from all that ink. The packaging is ok but not perfect for a rough ride across the Atlantic Ocean. The manuals shift easily from side to side - one cover page got torn out. Easy to fix though. In one of the binders the rings don't match up so you have to be careful not to tear pages when turning. I'll have to look into that.So what's the bottom line? Overall I'm pleased with my investment (and an investment it is - the total amount paid were 256 Euros). But I think that after the NGX comes out, it will be my main plane to fly in FSX. Since the depth of the simulation seems to match the depth of the manuals I feel it warrants the time spent on reading the manuals. Although I read news on my phone I hate reading long documents on a screen - I have to have a print. In my mind there is no comparison between having an actual QRH in your hand versus just looking at a PDF. So I'm looking forward to spending some holiday evenings going through all this information. One more thing: Since there will be a substantial holdup introduced by customs apparently playing ping pong with the parcel, there is no point in paying for the express handling on the USPS side of things. It might make a difference in the US but once it's on the plane to Frankfurt, is doesn't really matter anymore. Three to five days delivery is just not going to happen (ok maybe five if you're really lucky), even if you take the current difficult weather in Europe and the pre-Christmas rush out of the equation.Anyway, I hope this helps German customers making a more informed decision.Christoph KuehnePS As an aside this is the second set of manuals I bought from PMDG: I also bought and still own the manuals for the Aerowinx PS1 747 sim (about 11/12 years ago?). Quite a difference...
