December 12, 201015 yr Author Moderator You should definitely take a look at the videos for the Vulcan B2 which IRIS produced if you think they can't make decent stuff. That one most certainly is worth the full price, and if they knock that one out at 5 Bucks, it'll be like stealing.Don't get me wrong, I think out of what I bought so far, some of the stuff is better than others. I didn't care much for the F-14 but I LOVE the Christen Eagle so far. At a guess, the BD-5 probably uses the enhanced engine modeling which acceleration has.AlAh, that could be, in which case its probably best for a non-Accel user to buy it.Glad the A-10 doesn't require Accel, since thats the one I am really looking forward to. I would probably buy the F-16 as well, but since I own the Aerosoft version already and barely fly it as well, there's no need to buy another one to collect dust. Although I would guess I probably wont use the A-10 all that much, but for $5 I will get it just to check out the cool landing lights since I still dont have an FSX plance like the Lotus or AS Airbus with the new style landing lights. December 12, 201015 yr Frankly, if you want a decent A-10, you'd be better off buying the DCS Combat Flight Sim, which is in Beta currently, but that means you can pre-buy it for less at the moment. Present Beta version is a bit shaky, but I'm sure they'll sort it, and it is very cool.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

December 12, 201015 yr You should definitely take a look at the videos for the Vulcan B2 which IRIS produced if you think they can't make decent stuff. I have no reason to say that they can´t make good a/c. And yes, that video in great. But unfortunately it doesn´t make Diamond Star any better. All I wanted to say there are many GA a/c for FSX far far superior to that.
December 12, 201015 yr Well, nobody would deny that Carenado make very pretty models, but even the most ardent Carenado fan would have to admit their flight models sometimes leave a bit to be desired, and the same is occasionally true of Lionheart. Don't get me wrong here, my own personal all-time favourite FSX GA aircraft is Lionheart's Bellance Viking, which I'd recommend to anyone, but not everything they make is peerless in all respects. The point being, the Iris DA-40 has a pretty good all round stab at emulating the real thing, and since this thread is about the items on sale, and not a comparison at full price, for five bucks, a GA aircraft that looks pretty good, has fairly decent frame rates and a pretty good flight model would seem to be ticking most boxes, which is not something some of the names you mention always manage to do, either at full price, or for five Dollars. You can't even buy an old Abacus FS9 model for that kind of money.Incidentally, the Texan II was another one I was waiting for them to bang out on sale, I nearly bought that last week at full price, so that's me happy enough.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
December 12, 201015 yr Just picked up the Texan II and for the price, it's fine. It definitely looks and feels like a FS9 port-over, to me. But I think with some EZCA tweaks, it should be even more fun to fly. FPS are excellent as well. Alexander Alonso
December 12, 201015 yr It was in fact the first aircraft Iris made completely for FSX. Great fun thing, looks great, brilliant for aeros (it will do a proper spin and a flick roll) and with outstandingly good FPS, that FPS is probably because it isn't a port over.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
December 12, 201015 yr I bought the F-14 and Texan. Not bad for about $6.I just wanted to show support, but what I really want is the A-10.I hope is available for $5 this week. I'm checking daily. MSFS
December 12, 201015 yr For those interested in cockpit-sharing multiplayer, the Texan II works with shared cockpit, which is great fun when you can sit back and get thrown all over the place by someone else. It's a good low level dogfighter too, we also had a competition to see who could pull out of a spin the lowest, which I lost LOL. Some pics of a bit of formation and tailchasing fun with my buddy over Southern Spain:Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

December 13, 201015 yr Perfect plane to fly around in NA Blue, thanks! Off to buy her...How is the A-10? I can't seem to find much on it
