December 14, 201015 yr Author Moderator I don't do Credit cards Chris, if I haven't got the money its doesn't get bought.... Give me a break... try getting mortgage or a loan in the US without EXCELLENT credit. My wife and I pay our bills in FULL, every month, never miss a payment. We have an exceptional score and wouldn't have it any other way. There are people that know how to handle credit cards without any issues. Please don't assume ALL people who use CC's just throw money around...I'm the same way, if I cant afford something I generally dont buy it on credit. However, in the US its almost mandatory to have a credit card. I play golf every week and most of the courses I play require a credit card number just to make and hold a tee time, same with a lot of hotels, car rental companies, etc. I suppose you could give them a debit card number, but frankly I feel safer giving out a credit card number than the debit card which is linked to my checking account.Like Ryan said just because you buy something using a credit card doesn't mean that you can't pay the entire balance at the end of the month. December 14, 201015 yr The Twinstar is ok minus the fact that the rudder linkage is all screwy on takeoff roll. I'm all over the runway with this thing. Not to mention it's nearly impossible to remain in coordinated flight.Ryan, there's a hotfix available for the DA-42 (the download at the store is V. 1.00).Version 1.00 to 1.05 Hotfix* Braking strength increased.* Cargo weights adjusted to correct positions.* Ground effect reduced to combat excessive floating on landing.* Horizontal stabilizer angle of incidence & flap pitch moment adjusted to combat nose down pitch issue.* Trim sensitivities adjusted. You can get it from Iris here. December 14, 201015 yr Ryan, there's a hotfix available for the DA-42 (the download at the store is V. 1.00).I'm not Ryan, but I'm hoping the hotfix will cure the CTD with the DA-42 that I get. Tried every way known to mankind to load the plane and BLAMO!, I was finished in FSX.Otherwise, it's off to a support ticket for me.
December 14, 201015 yr You can get it from Iris here. Thanks, I'll try that. December 15, 201015 yr You could also try their support forum (you will need to register to view the DA-42 forum)Yep, registered and read through the forums. One similar posting about the CTDs with the DA-42, but it never garnered a response. I'll probably wait until the Christmas sale is over before I worry about it.The Christen Eagle and A-10 both work OK, just not the little twin that I wanted to tour around in.Darn computers are just so finicky any more! :(
December 15, 201015 yr Downloaded the A10!WOW incredible 71 variants/liveries included!Plus 3 options to configure the resolutions to your liking!Excellent flight model. one of the most pitch stable a/c in my hangar. Trimming is a piece of cake (in opposite to many other payware and freeware a/c.)Crsip and clear textures inside and outside, no shimmering VC, no shimmering gauges!3D modelled gauges!Excellent system modelling as far as I can judge after a 2 hours flight. This plane is not just OK for 5$ (as some are saying in this thread) this plane is worth every penny of its regular price!Iris says, it is only approved for the use with the Acceleration Pack, but I haven’t found any glitch so far when using it with SP2 only.Thank you IRIS! Wolfgang
December 15, 201015 yr I'd love to give them another $5 and get the A10 as well, but they have still yet to fulfil my order from over 48 hours ago via Paypal. I've tried to contact them twice via email and even via the support ticket system on their website and have still not heard anything from them, needless to say I'm getting a little worried now. Cheers, Andy.
December 15, 201015 yr I bought the A10 and the T-6 Texan IIAlmost feel like I've robbed them at only 10 Australian Dollars in total, a very good deal, will keep an eye out on their future products.
December 15, 201015 yr Author Moderator Downloaded the A10!......Iris says, it is only approved for the use with the Acceleration Pack, but I haven’t found any glitch so far when using it with SP2 only.I think you may have misread the A-10 page on requirements. It is approved to work with the following conditions:"Microsoft Flight Simulator X patched to SP2 standardOR Microsoft Flight Simulator X with the Acceleration Expansion pack installedOR Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold edition."They do have a few that are only approved to work with Accel or FSX Gold, like the BD-5 and F-20, although the F-20 will work with just SP2 but the HUD wont function as Al (Chock) pointed out.Glad to hear your enjoying the A-10. I still have yet to install my copy and I had no idea it came with 71 different paints. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

End of quoteSo as I understand it, the A10 is not fully certified/approved to work with SP1/SP2.Wolfgang
December 15, 201015 yr Author Moderator Hmm, I wonder what is correct then, what I quoted from the product page or what you quoted from the manual?Know wonder I didn't see what you quoted since I still have yet to install mine, but when I bought mine I was going off of what the product page said. Had I seen what you quoted prior to purchase, I may have given it a second thought since I dont have Accel installed.Fortunately though, you did say that it seems to be working fine in SP2. I guess I will see how mine works when I get around to installing it. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

WolfgangAnd the frame rates are great. I usually prefer GA but this beast is something special. And if you still have some room left beneath the Christmas tree, you should have a look at the Vulcan as well. Flying her is a rather claustrophobic experience just as in its real world couterpart but wow, I love it. December 15, 201015 yr "And if you still have some room left beneath the Christmas tree, you should have a look at the Vulcan as well." I do wish you hadn't written that. I was thinking of the Vulcan to go with the A10 ,F16, DA40....Oh well get out the credit card again.Cheers
December 15, 201015 yr So, I place an order and they say they're trying to reconcile all orders or something, and my order may be cancelled?
