December 16, 201015 yr Go grab all the wonderful and beatyful scenery from fsdt on sale this year! thanks to Umberto and everyone at fsdt.http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=3896.0 :( :( Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED
December 16, 201015 yr Good grief! Gonna buy some right now. Thanks for the HU!Can anybody provide any advice on what airports to buy by either Cloud 9 or FSDT? I already have KJFK and KORD and Hawaii doesn't really interest me as a destination. But for the rest, are there one or two sceneries you really think are worth it? I actually have been eyeing KLAX by C9 and KLAS and KDFW by FSDT, all of which serve other major airports I have in America, and most of which are served by KLM from Amsterdam. Are these airports good? December 16, 201015 yr KLAX is not for FSX, basically every FSDreamteam airport is perfection. I'd get them all, in fact I have them all, lol. So this sale is worthless to me. Can't wait for their next releases.

Can't wait for their next releases.I'm not going to use any of these airports in FSX, so that's no problem for me All my airliner flying is done in FS2004, all the GA flying is done in FSX using FTX NA Blue regional sceneries. This gives me the best of both worlds. December 16, 201015 yr Thanks for the heads up, Ceasar. Bought five more sceneries so now I have them all. Getting both fs9 and fsx versions really eases the transition to FSX once I take the plunge (which probably is spelled PMDG737NGX...). Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
December 16, 201015 yr Does anyone have ORD and JFK? Are they more or less fps efficient than default? December 16, 201015 yr Does anyone have ORD and JFK? Are they more or less fps efficient than default? My PC sucks to begin with but I would like to have these two for vatsim events. They are both quite heavy on the FPS. I did not install them in FSX, but I do use them in FS9. They work well, but you'll notice the FPS loss. Although, to be honest, I get the biggest hit from all the New York scenery around KJFK, which is MegaSceneryNY, Aerosoft Manhattan and ImagineSim's KLGA and KEWR, and I also have UT:USA. So combined I feel the loss quite well, but I still fly quite smoothly. of course, this is FS9 I'm talking about... December 16, 201015 yr Does anyone have ORD and JFK? Are they more or less fps efficient than default? My PC sucks to begin with but I would like to have these two for vatsim events.Ryan,KJFK is one of the best airports ever made for FSX. I can think of only a couple of other airports that are as amazing. There's is a performance drop, but on my system, I can fly maxed out scenery and a decent amount of AI along with Manhattan X and still get smooth flight. It's easy to try before you buy. Download and check it out. MSFS
December 16, 201015 yr LOL just bought both! I love them! I flew into JFK for real two years ago, it's a neat airport. The FPS aren't too bad. 15 or so on final with Lancair... I pretty much expect crap performance in the NYC area anyway. ORD seems to be performing better than default...Anyway, at JFK, I've noticed these super shimmery trees off to the left of Ry 31R. They are not default (ie autogen) but they are really bad. Does anyone else have this? Here they are pictured to the left of my panel... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

December 17, 201015 yr Moderator Yes, the shimmering trees have been discussed before, and I haven't found a way to eliminate them. It's the only real flaw with the airport.Ryan, mine don't shimmer. Try finding the tree.dds in the texture folder and adding mips to it with DXTBmp or DDS Converter 2. I think I ran the majority of my textures thru DDS Converter 2 at DXT3 compression. If I remember right they were DXT5 with most textures having mips, but I think that using the setting "0" (zero) in DDS Converter 2 added extra maps to some of the textures. As far as the difference between DXT5 and DXT3 I am frankly not sure if it makes much difference, but I have converted all my FSDT airports to DXT3 except for the ones that are already DXT1, which is most of the terminal buildings, however on my rig the DXT3's seem to load faster than DXT5's when switching views. Maybe just a placebo, but that's how it seems since I have tried using both DXT5 and DXT3.You can always make a backup of the originals and try it, if it doesn't work or make a difference, just drop the originals back in.Regards Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

When I first bought KJFK, I was upset to see shimmering trees.I'm not sure when it disappeared, but I don't see the shimmer anymore. It could be the latest drivers or even my gtx 480.The latest drivers have been a very good match for FSX. MSFS

December 17, 201015 yr How is ORD based on typical FSDT standards. I remember it was one of the first FSX scenery projects and the feedback wasn't good at the time.I always buy every FSDT product when it is released so ORD is the only thing I don't have for FSX. I would like to take advantage of the sale unless the product is below par.
