AirSimmer v1.3 update OUT!

Featured Replies

It really is a shame for us FS9ers. First the disappointment of the Airliner XP project, then Airsimmer. Don't get me wrong, I didn't loose anything on this as I didn't purchase the Airsimmer. I'm just disappointed. They both looked so promising.

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

And the basic version has now been offered to placate the ET members - what a joke!
All I care is does this void the agreement of non-disclosure?

I really want to love this add on. I bought it moments after it was released... After firing it up after class today with the 1.3 update, it's usable to me. And so pretty. I can't make up my mind on rather it's "good" or not. At times it's a dream, but other times I have to restart FS to get it right. I've made uneventful enjoyable flights as well as horrible autopilot-crashing ones. Ugh. -_-EDIT: It's not good, but I want it to be. It "had" potential.

It seems that the broad brush of censorship has struck again on the airsimmer "support" forums. Any negative feedback appears to be being actively deleted and whole sections of the forum have been purged, George Orwell anyone?. It really is sad to see people who can't accept criticism, I can understand if all the posts were laced with 4 letter words and the like, but they weren't, they were simply expressions of frustration which could have been addressed if there was any form of customer service at airsimmer.

Even if Airsimmer continues as a going concern and eventually releases the Advanced edition, the fact that they are deleting posts is just not sitting well with me. Last year there was hope they would get their act together, but their shenanigans with the forums now has hammered the nails on the coffin, they are finished as far as I'm concerned. There is no way they can recover from this blatant disregard for customer service and have now tarnished their reputation for eternity, this is just plain unacceptable. I can't believe I installed FS2004 just to test it out.Considering the Wilco "v2" of the Airbus is really just a payware service pack without any updates to their visual model, there now is only one savior when it comes to a plausible Airbus FBW for flight simulator, and that is Flight Sim Labs. I have faith in them, their leader was behind the complex systems coding in some older PMDG products, including the "airbus like" systems of the MD-11. If he can do for the Airbus narrowbodies what he had done for PMDG and the Concorde, we are in for a treat. But it's likely going to be long wait..........at least the PMDG NGX should keep us busy until then!

Yes it is sad, you would hope that they were mature enough to understand that censorship doesn't work, just see wikileaks for an example. Sadly it would appear that the Russian approach still doesn't work.

Balus, I could go on about how the AirSimmer forum is privately owned and operated, and reserves the right to maintain itself as it pleases - It's been well discussed though. I do however find your racial slurs regarding Russians offensive (to say the least), and feel under the circumstance there is nothing to justify to you. You've previously shown that anything which is said will not please you. Your petty and often child like remarks on the AirSimmer forum are 90% of the time rude and uncalled for. You may not run your own show at AirSimmer. No matter what you like to believe, or how many poor tactics you will employ (Such as your beloved: Let me post whatever I wish here at AirSimmer or I will post somewhere else threats). I'm here to let you know It will simply never happen.Best Regards,Ryan BriggsAS Customer [email protected]

Jeez Ryan, You have time to surf the net looking to stamp out any criticism of Airsimmer, but your appearances on the Airsimmer site are few and far between. Your signature says Airsimmer Customer Support but from what I've seen, the only customer support comes from the customers themselves. Mostly, it's one guy who goes by the screen name of Flex 1978.I've said it more than once, Airsimmer has an opportunity to fill a huge void in the flightsim world by creating a workable A320, but you spend your time with this kind of nonsense. I understand that you're not one of the technical guys on this project, but you're not doing your company any favors by this type of behavior, either on the Airsimmer site or this one. Grow up, grow a thicker skin, and tell the developers to fix the airplane. We'll all be happier for it.

It´s unbelieveable. As anyone upstairs said, Grow up and tell the "team??" that complete the plane and We´ll all be happy.Who wants a plane from people like these who never admited they were wrong? and moreover from People who don´t listen people at all, erasing any positive criticism!Let´s go and finish the plane. It´s time since 2009 and We still have something unflyable. We have paid money for nothing.Sorry, but there are my rights to maintain my opinions as it pleases Unbelieveable!

You´re 100% right papelino!RdsHamilton

I respect them for not just taking our money and running .I hope it all works out for all of us. :(

False,You'll find my posts at avsim are far and few between with regards to AirSimmer. If that's not the case, can you show otherwise?

I'm curious if you know all that it is I do at AirSimmer? I'd venture to guess, and suspects it's highly probable that you don't. If you do you're more than welcome to break down my pay for what I've done and what I do for AirSimmer, if you can get it with any sort of accuracy you'll have surprised me. With that said, the actions of Rob are commendable. Good deeds never go un-noticed.

You seem to have this idea that I, or other people at AirSimmer are in some way extraordinarily naive, or that we do not listen to what is written here or at other boards (including our own). Infact its been said that the product has not been satisfactorily finished to the level AirSimmer wants, and until that day - work will continue. If you haven't heard, now you know. If you chose not to acknowledge after hearing (as this statement has been said previously). I acknowledge that I can not help you, and will cease to make any effort to that end, but the show must go on amidst those who say "nay".Regards,Ryan BriggsAS Customer support

Ryan, It's not my intention to get into a pissing match with you about Airsimmer on this forum or any other. For better or worse, YOU are the face of Airsimmer for most of the folks who own this aircraft. My real life airline job requires me to be qualified to start the APU and brake-ride on a number of different aircraft types including the A320. As far as the cockpit environment goes, you people nailed it. More so,than any other version of the Airbus that's out there. I know, I own them all. That's great if all I'm going to do is sit at the gate for two hours. We need the airplane to actually work every time we attempt to fly it. Airsimmer releases an update every six months or so, fixing one thing and breaking something else. The customer is pretty much left to their own devices to get the airplane flyable. Maybe you should look to the folks at iFly as an example of how to deal with your customer base. As I stated earlier, I'm not interested in debating the issue with you and I doubt the readers on this forum are interested in reading it. Just consider this constructive criticism and take it for what it's worth.
