<br />Not exactly, since all the computers are interfacing with each other, and acting as one machine, I think its acceptable. Most of the multi-screen views just use a screen splitter of some sort but keep one CPU anyway.<br />
<br /><br /><br />I think wide view requires identical software on each computer to allow multiple views. If you didn't have the same software on each computer then you are going to see differences. Eg. Ftx ybbn on main forward view but default ybbn on left and right view.Mike Kendall

This is not possible interactively from within the sim. However, it is set up so that painters can adjust individual windows quite easily by adjusting the alpha layer of a particular shade. You've seen the cockpit windows, but there are also different antenna configurations, and different beacon placements. These are controlled through aircraft.cfg entries for each livery. Also, of course, there is a winglet option, but we consider this an entirely different aircraft, with its own unique flight characteristics. This is the first round of airplanes in which we've textured the airplane to have individual bitmap areas for the belly, and also the top of the aircraft. This will make painting complex liveries a lot easier, without the stretching that has been so common in the past. I think you'll be happy with the relative ease with which you can customize your airplane. External customization as well as cockpit customization. Most of the latter is controlled through the FMC, so you will be able to customize your cockpit on the fly, as you fly.We won't lock the thread, but further antagonistic/disruptive posts will be deleted without warning.
Thanks a lot for the detailed information Vin. You guys are not missing a tiny detail. :smile:kind regards,Christian Mohr

I think you are still activating on one pc if you reformate your harddrive/ new motherboard. I think when its simultaneous like having 2 computers running FSX at the same time with 1 copy of the PMDG aircraft is when you are breaking the rules
Just a clarification please. I do have a i7 2600x with a Asus P8P67 Pro MoBo. As you may know, there is a problem on these new MoBo with the Intel chip. My supplier will exchange my current MoBo for a new one in April after this problem has been fixed. Do you guys think I need to uninstall/reinstall my PMDG (and others) addons due to this MoBo change? Thanks

I moved my entire sim abroad a few months ago, the mother board and memory stick fried when I plugged my main machine into the power socket :( anyway I installed a new MB and all my products where still activated.Regards

Thanks Rob. I will test first after the new Mobo being installed if everything is working!Regards

Hi guys,Yes, it's me again. Still beating the subject of DAC vs SAC. I found this photo a friend of mine took doing decent. This aircraft is equiped with one of each. I know the engine fittet to the A320 is the -5B rather than the -7B on the 737ng, but this is just to show there is a difference. Do I dare ask if someone from the PMDG can answer my other two questions from the first post? These are of more importance that the above "issue".Thanks,Martin Dahlerup
Hi Martin,You have really got me curious about this EGT issue. As mentioned the only issue we have is spool up time between a DAC & SAC equiped engine (once stabilized no further issue as the FADEC is doing it's job. I was not aware of such a huge EGT difference, from your photo it looks like the DAC equiped engine is producing a much higher EGT and as you know this costs money in the long run, so what is the advantage? Are you sure this EGT spike is not specific to that particuler aircraft's engine?EDIT---------------Nevermind, found the info below---------------------------For some A319/A320/A321 aircraft models fitted with CFM56-5B engines, there are two kinds of engine types:- ‘SAC’ (Single Annular Combustor) Engines:. basic for type certificate,-‘DAC’ (Dual Annular Combustor) Engines:. Identified by ‘/2’ added to the nameplate of the engines,. Reason: improvement to decrease gas emission.6.4.2. Differences between a SAC and a DAC from the cockpitEngine Start on ground:- Slower and hotter ground starts on the DACEngine parameters at idle:- EGT: up to 250°C higher on the DAC,- Fuel flow: up to 25% higher on the DAC- In flight: higher N1/N2 on the DAC,Takeoff thrust selection:- Acceleration from idle to 50% is slower on the DAC, then symmetrical above 50%,In flight relight envelope:- DAC relight envelope is more restrictive (Max altitude: 20000 ft instead of 27500 ft). This maximum altitude shall be improved in the future. 6.4.3. Same aircraft models, two engines types: Intermix requiredAn aircraft is in intermix configuration when fitted with a SAC engine on one side, and a DAC engine on the other side. And this, even if the engine rating remains identical. The intermix SAC/DAC configuration is covered in the Flight Manual Supplement 6.03.03.Once in intermix, the DAC in flight relight envelope must be used, and special care should be taken to apply current takeoff procedure: set 50 % before applying full power.

They have some interesting scenarios like Canarian Islands and Gibraltar, but they're all for FS2004 or FS2002, what's weird because searching Aerosoft's site I found a FSX version of their Gibraltar scenery. Visual quality of some of them is not that good either. Some scenarios I'm interested right now are Aerosoft's Madeira X and Approaching Innsbruck, Fly Tampa's Kai Tak, Grenadines and St. Maarten and Orbx's Orcas Island.I rather buy scenarios of smaller airports instead of big ones because I like to fly to small airports and due to their not so big importance they are generally bad designed in default scenery. An example of that is Madeira Airport in Portugal. In real life its altitude is about 200ft, but in FS its altitude is almost 700ft and that mess up your approach if you are flying a VORDME approach to runway 5 with a right-handed traffic pattern to final.

Just 2 notes. 1. Dutch Harbor has been out for a while now. 2. The Alaska Airlines flights into Hawaii (they not only fly in to here but also Lihue (PHLI), Kahului (PHOG), and the Big Island but I can't remember if it's Hilo or Kona (PHTO or PHKO)) are from Seattle, not Anchorage. To my knowledge, there are no longer any scheduled flights between these two cities. There used to be a long time ago back when Hawaiian operated the old DC10s.

As much as these images are gorgeous, and the level of detail (both inside and out) for this aircraft is immensely exciting, it does cause me a fair amount of worry in one area: performance.I remember a post from PMDG awhile back, while showing the images of the HUD, that they were extremely excited about the performance, which they anticipated as being better than MD-11 and JS-41. The individual writing had noted that all of the factors that would drag down performance had been added already, and it was looking great, with reasonable performance on mid-range systems. Now, I'm no programmer, and am speaking only from experience and not training, but all the detail coming forth honestly looks like anything short of a i7 Six-Core clocking some pretty impressive gigahertz is going to produce a slideshow.Obviously, systems all vary, as do systems settings, so it's impossible to give a simple answer, but can anyone address the issue of frame rates, performance, recommended specs, etc.? Or perhaps someone has, and I've simply missed it? I'd dearly love to buy this thing, having bought the previous products, but I'm not sure a $4,000 new Alienware is in the budget.Joseph Legander

Keep in mind that they've also pretty much started from scratch with the code for this bird, using a lot of newer, more efficient techniques. Actual performance won't be known until they're ready for release. I get the impression, however, that if it has slowed down since the original estimate, it should still be comparable to the 744 or MD-11.

Hi CAptain,That first image: The PMDG 737-800 over Renton, WA, - I'm just curious about the ORBX scenery. Is that scenery on full max or did you adjust your settings some? Just wondering if you reduced the scenery slider a bit because it looks really blurry.. Also wondered if you can tell us what kind of frames you are getting with ORBX and the 737NGX? ThanksTroy
