Externalities and the NGX

Nice picture of the antenna internals.. Now for the $100 question! Do you all think PMDG modeled all that detail into their antenna dome? :( heh, had to say it. I'm mostly poking fun at all the die-hard nit pickers critiquing what is already a masterpiece but in all honesty, with the level of detail, I wouldn't put it past them to include it. :biggrin:AND... Big thumbs up for the num pad input.

Thanks. Big%20Grin.gifYou're welcome to use it if you'd like and that goes for anyone here. If you want a personalized version let me know. I noticed that I was breaking the rules regarding size, it has been fixed.

No problem, happy you noticed it. I made a few updates and put a link in my sig for a version with no personalization.

performance is quite good in the current alpha.

I'm afraid that may be at the rate things are moving. Strictly speaking, an alpha build can turn beta/RC tomorrow. However, PMDG has perpetually promised updates "in a few days", "very soon", and even "this weekend" (referring to previously promised lighting shots in this thread). We are then left waiting typically for weeks, even verging on months before another update. Now I understand that things may take time and they have the right to work on their schedule. However, if you do choose to set a deadline (i.e. night shots "this weekend"), follow it (or at least close to it)! Anyway, venting done and likely on the soon to be modded/deleted list.Eric Szczesniak

I too agree and I just decided I had it with this endless waiting and wading through all these most of the time meaningless posts in threads like this one so I will now unsubscribe and instead be happy the day I can read over at AVSIM's front page that PMDG finally released their 737NGX.Until then, take care everyone and blue skies!

I believe Ryan said that they would be showing off the night lighting shortly... and they have not yet... Which takes us back to the point that was said many many times here before...They probably are not ready to show us the night lighting yet...

I agree with the underlined quote.Regards,
I'd actually be very understanding of statements that more screen shots will be shared "when available" or similar. I fully understand the "it'll be done when it's ready" approach in the niche market of FS add-ons. It's the empty promises and deadlines that are bothering me. I am also aware that others will post asking for more information and an update, but it seems a simple "work continues, but at this moment we don't have more information to share" would suffice.

I think they deserve peace. Remember one thing... they're not doing this for living so... tomorrow they can say... "we don't feel working any more....say goodbay to PMDG" and they will survive cause they have other jobs. But instead.. US loose a huge and almost perfect add-ons for our hobby. Take it easy it will come...Sorry for my english,

I'm with you. I was super excited about the NGX when they released that video last summer saying "Mid 2010" and the announcement of the 777. I went a little overboard and jumped ship from FS9 to FSX, bought a new computer and got all geared up for these exciting times.I'm still looking forward to the NGX but as far as visiting the site daily waiting for updates, that anticipation is long gone. Yeah, it'll come when it'll come, but getting something with the reaction *finally, it's about time* instead of *YES!!! It's here!!!* isn't the same.Hate to say LDS has it right with the 757. They haven't gotten anyone's hopes up. That one will just one day show up and people will be like, whoa, look! NGX will be like "geez, it's about time..."If PMDG didn't think for sure the plane was going to be ready at least ballpark mid 2010, they never should have said mid-2010. We are sitting here 3/4 of a year later and still haven't been told of beta or even seen night shots of the plane. I know, I know, It'll be released when it's released and everyone who wants it will buy it anyway and everyone who critisizes anything should shut up and let PMDG do their thing so on and so forth. I used to hate LDS for saying nothing about the 757. Now I appreciate it as I have not gotten all excited then let down and proceeded to lose interest in them. I know PMDG probably doesn't care what I think but hey, I felt like writing a little essay on this stormy March 1.Mid-2010, right.Jeff Calder

Doing this as a side job entitles them to work on their own schedule. It does not entitle them to set multiple deadlines and timeframes for their customers, then break them by great periods of time. All I'm asking for on this one boils down to simple honesty. If it's going to be 2 months before you're next update, that's fine. Just be honest and say that, not "very soon", "a couple days", etc.Eric Szczesniak
