March 31, 201115 yr Ok, what do you guys think? Is it worth to upgrade from the original?NO!!!Future customers will actually get an inferior product if they opt to buy 'Evolution' versus the older 'Deluxe' package. Things are broken in the 'EV' version that worked just fine before. What happened here is it looks like the original developers weren't even involved to make the necessary changes to accommodated the so called improvements. This is a third party freeware effort being sold as if it's apart of the original concept. It's like me taking PSS's 777 and adding my own sounds to it getting Just Flight to sell it along side the original package propping mine up as an official upgrade. This is actually criminal and the original team should say something. Wilco needs to take the official cover off this crap as it has nothing to do with the original team and sell it as a generic hack any of us could have done (in our sleep). This product truly takes so much away from the original package. Again things are broken and hacked over that wasn't an issue before, the model is not upgraded, and nothing of relevance is even touched/fixed... I could take my updates and make a better final product. I was apart of the original beta team on this project. I'll contact Vic when I get the chance and tell him this can't be sold as an upgrade along side their original work.Does the WX radar have any tilt and gain controls, or is it a dumbed down version like on the 737?Dumbed down... It's really irrelevant because it doesn't work. FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
March 31, 201115 yr Sorry it doesn't have Til and gain adjusment. Knobs are inoperative. Only switch ON/OFF working... It is not like Pss757 weather radar or Wilco's 777 radar.... After another test flight , still same problems... I have tried numerous combinations and options to make weather radar work but unfortunetaly still no response... So I will back to original deluxe version which was working fine... There is ugly ruder movement as you can almost turn 90degrees in the air... It doesn't feel real... So no working weather radar, no any other exterior improvement... You will only pay for HUD and Curvy SID :)) That is so worth it (!!!!!):(((
March 31, 201115 yr I was a few seconds away from hitting the purchase button after reading all the crap on Wilco's website. But I decided to do a quick search on any reviews for this and I started reading this thread. My goodness! What a rip off.I wish i was some sort of a lawyer, I would have atleast tried to send these Wilco guys some sort of legal letter for such fraud.
April 1, 201115 yr I tried to purchase it yesterday, expecting to pay with a bank transfer. Apparently that's only for boxed products and thus my attempt was unfruitful. I read some more reactions here and in the FSX Forum, it's probably best it was unfruitful... Mike...
April 1, 201115 yr I purchased Evolution two days ago, both for the series vol1&2. What a joke! Is it possible to get my money back? C'mon guys I bought the series 1 and 2 and although it wasn't state of the art, it was manageable. I had to uninstall this useless devolution piece of crap and revert to the previous version which works a bit better. I hope they come up with a patch or something soon because this is so stupid. I can't believe that conducting business like this is legal. I'm not expecting an add-on for FS that behaves like a CAE (www.cae.com) but at least it should perform to the minimum as advertised or recommended by the developer. Who are the beta testers for this? Let's dream!!! Anybody out there who knows about this, is it difficult to build an Airbus add-on that would implement ARINC specifications? I found a website about something called Project Magenta which seems interesting (http://www.projectmagenta.com). There is also flightsimlabs who claim that they will implement ARINC 424-19 specification http://www.flightsimlabs.com although this is just for navigation database systems. I guess if they can get at least that right they might get the rest working flawlessly. So disappointing with this Wilco Airbus Series Evolution and not completely satisfied with Airbus Series 1 and 2 but if had known about its bugs I wouldn't have bought the series 1&2. But the Evolution is just garbage!!! This product is so bad! It makes me think or dream even further: I wish there a bunch of high-end software developers who can crack flight simulator SDK and write an add-on implementing as many ARINC Specs as possible, and build a kick &@($* add-on for Airbus with incredible flight physics model and realism. I would pay four times what I paid Wilco for something like that, perhaps even more, I'd pay £500 for such a toy. It's what an hour in a real airbus simulator from CAE costs. Imagine how many people would pay the 500s for this software. Some people would get rich. Is someone working on this? Will never spend a penny on Wilco or Feelthere again. They lost a valuable customer. Maybe I will make my own one day if no one comes up with it and make some money with this hobby. Cheers all and happy skies.
April 1, 201115 yr Have also purchased both Series 1&2. What a dissapointment...and thats being polite. I can barely fly the Airbus 340 and other than a few small tweaks (Weather Radar? Hud?) it's worse than before. Its been hyped up as something that it's not. I for one have sent an email requesting a refund. Never felt so let down by Wilco and will not part with any of my hard earned cash again, at leat not to them.Pete
April 1, 201115 yr This Eric Guy Needs to Wake up to Himself, I was considering parting with $$ to purchase this Evo Thingy, Hah come on Mr Eric Marciano who are you Kidding, Dont waste your time dressing up a Dead Horse and selling it as Premium Beef Steak, and whats more give these ppl a refund, You are not worthy of calling yourself a FS Developer, Your a Con Man???? :( My 2 centsRickPS heres his website if you want to email him for a Refund but i doubt he will answer. http://emarciano.free.fr/
April 1, 201115 yr Hi all,Yes, I've bought some pups over the years. This one comes top of my list of my "Why oh why did I do this?"Warning to all. Yes, you can install this on top of your existing installation. But what they omit to tell you is that it will overwrite your existing Aircraft.cfg and Panel.cfg. So for the uninitiated. Make a new folder "PreEvo" place on your desktop and copy and paste all your existing Airbus folders into it.If like me, you have redux lights, extra utilitys and liverys, you can then spend the next 3-6 hrs copying and pasting the changes back into the .cfg files. In the event you dont do the above, no need to guess what your W/E will involve :-).This mod, does not address any of the flight model problems as mentioned in previous post's and for me what I consider most annoying of all.The "Flight plan AIRAC cycle warning". Wherein I have a folder full of useless FP due to constant monthly upgrades from Navigraph.Regards JohnT
April 1, 201115 yr To add fuel to the fire. I am emailing them at the moment and they are not budging with regards to a refund. Here is a quoute "As stated on our site : For download products, we are unable to refund/change if you find the product too complicated or unsuitable for your personal use". I'm still contesting this as i do feel that the product is unsuitable for personal use.MAD! :(
April 1, 201115 yr The "Flight plan AIRAC cycle warning". Wherein I have a folder full of useless FP due to constant monthly upgrades from Navigraph. That might not be a limitation of the Wilco pile though. Every time the AIRAC changes then the nav db airport ID's change, so the flight plan departure and destination id's don't point to the correct entries in the nav db. I wrote a script to look up the correct entries in the updated AIRAC and change them in the .rte file accordingly, but it's probably just as easy to load the nav db into MS Access (assuming you have it of course - Open Office doesn't seem to work for some reason) and update them manually. Then the flight plan works just as well. You might have noticed all the waypoints are OK (most of the time anyway), it's just the departure & destinations airports that don't show.
April 1, 201115 yr I was disenchanted with them when they upgraded ther website and took weeks to admit that old downloads cant be accessed from there. They finally - after 5 weeks mind you - sent me a link to check the old site downloads and serials and I now have all my serial numbers and files in a safe placeAnd I am not buying from them again - was never even tempted with Evolution after that experience and glad kept my credit card firmly locked in my walletIn my opinion Wilco now rank with Perfect Flight as one of the worst developers in the business and I have parted with my last dollar to themJohn John Hewson
April 1, 201115 yr Wow,Shameful. Even worse than I expected, actually. I can only guess that Wilco knew there was trouble with the update, and kept delaying and delaying, trying to decide whether or not to put it out. Seems the lure of money won out.If it wasn't before, Wilco's name has been forever sullied by this event. Having no support forum makes them look like a shifty company - putting out a product (with no refund available) like this will only confirm that in everyone's mind.Even with an update to make this workable - something they are not known for - Wilco has cemented their reputation. Most FS users in the know (particularly here, in forums like these) will never do business with them again. My only fear is that new users, or those without knowledge of the forums like these, will still fall for the predations of a company like Wilco. Perhaps it's time for AVSIM to become involved? Just a suggestion - but removing their ads from the AVSIM website would be my humble suggestion. As for Wilco; a full refund should be offered to all those who were duped by this project. Nothing else is really ethical, is it?- daniel
April 1, 201115 yr Hi,more gloom and doom.Found a few more problems :-Cannot start the engines in the VC view, the little hand appears above the switch on the pedestal, but LC/RC does nothing. Also the seat belt and no smoking switches don't work.Is it my system or have others got the same?more problems, again the VC panel.I can increase the desired Alt setting but cannot decrease it, the minus(-) does not appear, also cannot change managed to non managed by RC.Cannot change ranges or display on EFIS control panel. This is turning into a farce. No doubt more errors to follow.Surely this lot can be called to count on the Trade descriptions act, i.e "Fit for purpose"Regards JohnT
April 2, 201115 yr Oh dear, I really wish I'd taken the trouble to read some of these reviews before I parted with any money. I installed the evolution upgrade a few days ago. The first thing I discovered was that all my installed repaints would have to be reinstalled, as the upgrade replaces the aircraft.cfg file. I've just completed a test flight from EGLL-LEBL. The flight went ok without any major problems, but my main issue is that I can't really see that anything has changed or improved. The SID/STARs looked exactly the same to me on the ND, and as others have said they STILL haven't done anything about the descent profile problems, or many other glitches. The only thing I could find of any use is the target altitude marker, which was quite handy but hardly worth £18. I haven't got as far as using the wx radar but I won't bother now as others have said it doesn't work.A huge disappointment all round really, and I feel stupid for having paid for this - it should have been a free patch. Or even better, they shouldn't have bothered at all.I'm also very frustrated by the lack of support forum on Wilco's website - they keep saying "see Feelthere's website for the support forum" but FeelThere seem to have detached themselves completely from this series, and there is no Airbus forum on their site. So we have nowhere to go.I'm glad to have found some other likeminded peeps here, only sorry that you all have been similarly short changed. I'll be interested to see how Wilco deals with this (if at all)....

Here is a quoute "As stated on our site : For download products, we are unable to refund/change if you find the product too complicated or unsuitable for your personal use". Too bad, they've stated that the customer can not ask for refund... :(one more lesson learned.. :)BR,
