Hi,Unlikely, I know, but any chance of a Boeing 717? A much under-rated aircraft, and you've already done the avionics with the MD-11...N938AT_Boeing_717_flight_deck.jpgBest regards,Robin.

I'd love to see this too, though I know the odds of it happening are pretty low. Just wanted to give you my opinion. Thanks.

Yea, I am going to need a quality 717 for my WN routes.

Great airplane. Hawaian Air uses them almost exclusively throughout the islands. I'd also love to see one modelled. As previously stated, they have a lot in common with the MD-11.:( Regards, jen noulet

I would love to see PMDG make the 717. I'm like you and would love to have an AirTran 717 since they are in my area now. I think it would be a small (comparatively) step since the MD11 panel and systems are all ready made. Please consider making the B717 :( Bob

Qantas used to use them fairly extensively here in Australia.
I hadn't seen them for quite a while but then last week I saw one do a fairly low pass near my house (Adelaide) in a area I don't usually see planes fly, dunno what they were doing.

I would think that with such a small market share (both when it was for sale and now), it stands no chance of PMDG making it. But PMDG invest plenty of time and effort into making the MD-11, which was equally of low real world sales and utilization. And as mentioned above, it has much of the same avionics and systems capabilities, so maybe half the work has already been done with the work they did on the MD-11, which was a massive change from the Boeing systems they were used to working on. Never say never! But I don't think it possible, they will have their hands full with a version 2.0 of the 747 after the 777 is finished. Coincidentally, I was on vacation at the Jersey Shore yesterday and saw an Air Tran 717 on the STAR approach to KPHL, and it got me thinking about this uncommon airliner.

Secret Project? Thinking.gifWould make sense if they could use similar MD-11 avionics.Time will tell. Would be cool though although I would like to see a fully modeled regional jet more. Anyway, would be very nice indeed.Regards

It could quite possibly have been the CEO of Qantas taking one of the Union leaders for a ride to scare the living daylights out of him and in doing so get him to call off next weeks' strikes? lol

Well I know Hawaiian took a few off their hands a few years back. I think they took a total of 4 and ferried them up after Aloha went under to meet demand. I've been saying it for a while that I would love a 717 since it is practically the flagship of Hawaiian airlines. (Although those new A330's are getting good reviews. I still wish they went with 777's.) I've always wanted a good rendition to run interisland routes on.Very nice picture by the way. What airline is that? And when was it taken because that flight deck looks way to clean to be recent.

I wouldn't mind the 717 also, but would be even happier with an MD-80. I know about the 2 existing MD offerings, but I would like one done with the graphic artistry of the NGX.Sean Cmapebbll

Funny you should mention that, Sean. After a night of knocking the dust off of my "Fly the Maddog 2010", I must say the MD-80 (atleast the shorter -87) is well represented and my appetite for it is quenched.

I believe it's Airtran. Check the bottom right of the picture, you can see the signature a of Airtran. (FO side)
