New T-45C Goshawk by Dino Cattaneo (official release)

Featured Replies

Dino finally released his freeware T-45C :(The T-45C Goshawk is a heavily modified version of the Bae Hawk single engine jet trainer, adapted to aircraft carrier ops. The package contains an entirely new visual model, with self shadowing, bump mapping and hi-res textures, working virtual cockpit, 3D gauges, and improved flight model. Includes custom collimated HUD and sound package. You can read more on Dino's website - http://indiafoxtecho.blogspot.com/ - or download the plane directly from Avsim: http://library.avsim...xac&DLID=160445Trailer video:

Dino, obviously, puts out things to go directly into the hall of fame, not only of freeware spheres. Thanks for the HU on that update, this is one of my only two carrier ops a/c.

Sweet!.. Could not wait for this to come out! Thank you Dino!-Damien

This aircraft is excellent. The custom HUD is fully collimated and whole package is extremely well done. Dino's & team did an outstanding job for this hobby.

I have to agree...this one absolutely rocks the house. Take Dino's excellent Goshawk with Jivko Rusev's brilliant collimated HUD, coupled with Javier Fernandez' amazing USS Nimitz/Eisenhower aircraft carriers, and you can lose whole weekends trying to perfect your traps.And...it's all freeware.

Wearing a bone dome with an oxygen mask on, and the hood closed you likely won't hear anything other than your own breathing and maybe an miniscule electrical whine.

I know I should read the manual, but I can't figure out how to get the MFDs to turn on, when I click the on/off switch it doesn't move and nothing happens, is there some trick to get them to turn on? Thank you.

I d/l'd this plane tonight and all I can say is... WOW! What a beauty she is. I paid no nevermind before to the FSX possibilities but now I am very interested in doing carrier ops but don't quite know how to start. I am d/l'ing files left and right in hopes they give enough info to get started.Mr. w6kd,Can you please provide me some links here or privately as to how you go about setting up some scenarios to do take-offs and landings on the carriers? So far I have gathered "uss_nimitz_ike_version2.zip", "aicarriers2.zip" and "carriertracks1and2" but am tired and must work tomorrow. Can hardly wait to get home and start this new project!

To learn how to perform carrier operations I would suggest heading to: http://fsxblueangels...20template.htmlOf particular interest to you would be the following tutorials:BREAK TO LAND TUTORIALCARRIER LANDING TUTORIALAI CARRIERS 2 INSTALLATION TUTORIALRegards, Mike Mann

That's probably my problem, I'll have to pick it up one of these days. I'm worried it will mess up my current install which is operating flawlessly.

with the nimitz pack and aicarriers you are almost ready to go, the nimitz pack has the configuration files needed for aicarriers inside so you basically just have to install aicarriers and follow the instructional textfiles. note that you need a java runtime installed on your system to use aicarriers... and the fsx acceleration pack for the carrier ops features of course.thats basically it, next time you start FSX you will get a message about the aicarriers file registering with your FSX installation, accept and start a flight at an airport of your choice near the coast. while facing towards the water press SHIFT+j (or was it CTRL+j? its in the aicarriers manual!) and with the menu you can rez a fully moving controllable aircraft carrier (or any other ship from within the config file :) )its worth the time and really adds a whole new experience to your flying. you can also use the USNS patuxent (its part of the nimitz pack) for helicopter dreamland (landing on a moving flightdeck!) and so on !goodluck!

No that is your problem lol. The glass screens are directly from the Acceleration F18. Accel won't screw your install up - I've been using it since it came out.
