August 3, 201114 yr Is it not fantastic that there are humans out there with the ability and perseverance to create something so technically advanced for the rest of us to indulge ourselves with every day at our leisure ?God bless "The Captain and his team" from the southern tip of Africa.......we can't wait!
August 3, 201114 yr So what.I don't think that will have to be an issue and that's why are releasing them separately because if you know how to load them properly into the sim you won't have any problem. And if their really not finish and work needs to be done I would prefer to wait a little longer ,as we have waited long already, and have the -600,-700 and -800 all together in one package. It seems PMDG is damned if they do and damned if they don't. They try to get the aircraft out early to us by only releasing the -800 and -900 and people b****. Yet if they had waited and released them all together people would still b****. They can't win. I really don't understand why PMDG are choosing to release the -600 and -700 variants in a different package as most people including me will be interesed in only flying the -600,-700 and -800 variants for the base packgage and then for whoever is interested the others like the extended range versions, the business jets and the military versions even if that will cost a little bit more than what is the price intended for the base package right now.I would not mind paying from 75$ what is the price for the base package let's say 80 $ and a bit but knowing that I will be getting these three which are the most important in my opinion. And then the 900 with the rest of the extended versions for the expansion pack versions. That would be normal for me !!!And if the reason for this is that the other two are not ready it would not mather waiting a little bit more but knowing that I will pay the price to have the main thrree Boeing NG airplanes from the start as I'm not that interested in the 900 variant. So I would really like to know why are they making us pay another 20 $ or so for the -600 and 700. Well, #1, the -600 and the -700 aren't done yet. #2, the -700 and the -800 will likely be the more popular models while the -600 and the -900 will be less popular. To me, it makes sense from a business perspective to drive the sales of the -600 and the -900 by bundling them with the two more popular models, rather than utilize a business model where one can buy the -600 and the -900 separately, and thus won't sell well as the other two due to decreased interest. You think they're trying to screw you, but really, they're not. They're just trying to receive compensation for the development of the two less popular models. They're also appeasing the vast majority of us that don't want to pay $100+ for four airplane models, two of which most will never use. Me, personally? I'll buy the -800 and the -900 and call it a day. I don't need the -600 or the -700 and I'll save the $20-$30 by not purchasing them. -johnny rodgers
August 3, 201114 yr Chillax people. We will all have plenty of variants to keep us busy while the developers finish their work. Scott KGPI

August 3, 201114 yr @Cristi You're not the only nor first one havings these thoughts and this is also the reason I'm sure PMDG had lost some customers myself included but it's hard not coming back in the end of the day because regardless what you think about PMDG's attitude towards their customers in this respect it's hard not to say impossible to find other products in the same league although some other companies are getting closer and closer and with support forums that are a lot more "friendly" and where you as a customer is treated in a much more respectful way. The day we have a company that produces products of PMDG quality but with the same attitude you find with some other well known 737 addon makers for example we will have a truly winning concept! I think i chose a weird way to express myself. Actually, I'm very happy with the way PMDG runs things. They aim for the best quality possible. I'd rather wait a few more days for the release than have it early, then wait a few more days for a service pack because the thing won't run. Either way, release date isn't that important to me. I'll be away during the next few weeks, so I'll be buying my NGX near the end of August. Cristi Neagu
August 4, 201114 yr The very same issues that were created by people purchasing that other developer's 737 add-on and then finding themselves out of their depth because of the complexity of that add-on eventually leading to repeatedly for support requests and clamours for a Service Pack to be released, I foresee happening here. Rather than looking inwardly at their own inadequacies at being able to handle what will undoubtedly be one of the most realistic and therefore most complex flightsim add-on, and bringing that up to scratch,it wil undoubtedly be moan at PMDG for this and that being wrong. I'll be away during the next few weeks, so I'll be buying my NGX near the end of August.I agree with you 100% in what you say, I too think it's great PMDG aims for quality. That and the pure expertise and talant building FS a/c is what makes PMDG's products what they are...true masterpieces. And it's not the exact release date that is important to me.What is important to me is the "atmosphere" in here caused by all these very silent periods where nobody gets any info or answers or the way customers from time to time are answered in a very unfriendly and arrogant way. To me that is very unprofessional and "childish" especially when you're a company that in no way would need to have that kind of attitude considering your impressive stand in the market thanks to your outstanding products. When reading all posts in this forum it's often quite clear that some people are all but happy and in a good mood and of course it's not PMDG's responsibility keeping all people in a good mood but I'm sure this forum would be a much nicer place to be if it wasn't for the things I've mentioned here and I know from own experience how nice things can be and what a great atmosphere you can have pending a release if the company behind the release is a little bit more "buddie" with it's customers and treat them with more respect. When a certain other well-known 737 was released some time ago that company's forum was like a big worldwide party where all participants both people behind the company and their customers celebrated together even before the release and was counting down the clock to the actual release and everyone were equally happy and in a good mood.As i said before, having that kind of spirit in the forums together with the quality of PMDG's products would be truly great but I guess you can't have it all. Regardless I'm waiting for PMDG's NGX with as much anticipation as anyone else in here and I hope it's not too long now before we all can enjoy a new masterpiece which I'm sure it will be!!

August 4, 201114 yr A bit of fun to keep us in good spirit The pics are actually from a flying aircraft. It is a South African airline At the bottom the text I am not really sure if that is true. Over the years I have seen this on other sites but at least it is funny and hopefully will humour you guys and also Robert on his Birthday. Hey by the way Robert: Maybe we can have that livery as a Birthday gift? lol Happy Birthday again Kulula is a low-cost South-African airline that doesn't take itself too seriously. Check out their new livery! And have a read about their Customer Relations. WHAT A PITY KULULA DOESN'T FLY INTERNATIONALLY - WE SHOULD SUPPORT THEM IF ONLY FOR THEIR HUMOUR - SO TYPICALLY SOUTH AFRICAN. Kulula is an Airline with head office situated in Johannesburg. Kulula airline attendants make an effort to make the in-flight "safety lecture" and announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported:On a Kulula flight, (there is no assigned seating, you just sit where you want) passengers were apparently having a hard time choosing, when a flight attendant announced,"People, people we're not picking out furniture here, find a seat and get in it!"---o0o---On another flight with a very "senior" flight attendant crew, the pilot said,"Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendants."----o0o---On landing, the stewardess said,"Please be sure to take all of your belongings.. If you're going to leave anything, please make sure it's something we'd like to have."----o0o---"There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane."---o0o---"Thank you for flying Kulula. We hope you enjoyed giving us the business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride."---o0o---As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Durban Airport , a lone voice came over the loudspeaker:"Whoa, big fella. WHOA!"---o0o--After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in the Karoo, a flight attendant on a flight announced,"Please take care when opening the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as hell everything has shifted."---o0o---From a Kulula employee:"Welcome aboard Kulula 271 to Port Elizabeth. To operate your seat belt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seat belt; and, if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised."---o0o---"In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child travelling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are travelling with more than one small child, pick your favourite."---o0o---"Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some broken clouds, but we'll try to have them fixed before we arrive. Thank you, and remember, nobody loves you, or your money, more than Kulula Airlines."----o0o---"Your seats cushions can be used for flotation; and in the event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with our compliments."---o0o---"As you exit the plane, make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses.."---o0o---And from the pilot during his welcome message:"Kulula Airlines is pleased to announce that we have some of the best flight attendants in the industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on this flight!"---o0o—Heard on Kulula 255 just after a very hard landing in Cape Town : The flight attendant came on the intercom and said,"That was quite a bump and I know what y'all are thinking.. I'm here to tell you it wasn't the airline's fault, it wasn't the pilot's fault, it wasn't the flight attendant's fault, it was the asphalt."---o0o—Overheard on a Kulula flight into Cape Town, on a particularly windy and bumpy day: During the final approach, the Captain really had to fight it. After an extremely hard landing, the Flight Attendant said,"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to The Mother City. Please remain in your seats with your seat belts fastened while the Captain taxis what's left of our airplane to the gate!"---o0o—Another flight attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing: "We ask you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us to the terminal."---o0o—An airline pilot wrote that on this particular flight he had hammered his ship into the runway really hard. The airline had a policy which required the first officer to stand at the door while the passengers exited, smile, and give them a "Thanks for flying our airline". He said that, in light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the passengers in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart comment. Finally everyone had gotten off except for a little old lady walking with a cane. She said,"Sir, do you mind if I ask you a question?""Why, no Ma'am," said the pilot. "What is it?"The little old lady said,"Did we land, or were we shot down?"---o0o—After a real crusher of a landing in Johannesburg , the attendant came on with,"Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain in your seats until Captain Crash and the Crew have brought the aircraft to a screeching halt against the gate. And, once the tire smoke has cleared and the warning bells are silenced, we will open the door and you can pick your way through the wreckage to the terminal.."---o0o—Part of a flight attendant's arrival announcement:"We'd like to thank you folks for flying with us today.. And, the next time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the skies in a pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of Kulula Airways."---o0o—Heard on a Kulula flight:"Ladies and gentlemen, if you wish to smoke, the smoking section on this airplane is on the wing.. If you can light 'em, you can smoke 'em."---o0o--- Ian C. McCulloch 'What would one do without Malt Whisky? Slainte Mhath' It only can get better
