KSFO 2.0 was released

I have a very dumb and also very open question.I really wonder how some devs reach the goal of great optics (which this thing obviously has) and superb fps (which it has too) now. I'm sure it's a combination of things, but, not too long ago, everything with e. g. hires textures inevitably lead to a reduced performance. Now, releases like this one (it isn't the only one, don't worry) show that the magic of great looks and great fps can be achieved. How do they do that?As a side note, I once again have to praise the policy of e. g. giving the customers free updates.

How do they do that? Practice makes perfect! The pursuit of perfection! Maybe.... I have seen some FTX airports double in fps after an update release. Some devs are doing everything they can to improve what they offer their customers and I'm grateful. I wish I could contribute more "financially" to their success.

Thank you for making the community aware. I find it daunting to keep up with all the releases and updates. This is definitely good news.

It's really beautiful and FPS friendly. What else do you want, really?? Big%20Grin.gif
I just installed in while it looks really great, what is with the dark area that now is present in the bay water that surrounds KSFO's south side. Also, I noticed the textures in the area just outside the airport look terribly blurry. I generally have super clear textures all over, so this looks weird. I guess these two issue are just the way the product blends in the existing textures, or could I have some sort of installation issue maybe. I did make sure FTX's configurator had me set to Default FSX before I installed KSFOX. Thoughts? Thanks in advance . . . Noel

Here's a peek. I already bought the software, but as nasty as the surrounding textures look I'm afraid I'm going to have to make this as donation. You can see the background look pretty clean and non-blurry, but the zone just outside the actual airport is horribly blurry by comparison. As mentioned, normally I enjoy crisp textures most of the time. Also, the very weird water on the south end looks pretty off. Hopefully you can expand these prints up to where you can see what I'm talking about with the textures close in to the airport. Tell me I'm doing something wrong!

I get about the same performance now that I got with the original version, which is very good ~25 to 35 FPS depending on a/c. In fact I get better FPS with the Flightbeam version than I do with the default FSX version. If you dont own it already just install it and run the trial version and see how it goes on your rig.

Noel, those blurry textures are NOT from the KSFO package. I don't know what other addons you've installed, but it's causing problems.

Well, for areas that should affect the Bay Area, I have GEX-USA, UTX-NA, and REX2. At least you are telling me this issue I am experiencing IS NOT how KSFO should display, so that is good. These are programs just about everyone uses. As it is now, I pretty much need to uninstall KSFO as it really looks terrible, and the areas you see on those pics don't look that way until KSFO was installed. Any ideas? Should I try uinstalling KSFO, and reinstall? Is it possible I got a corrupted version of KSFO? I say this because the problem isn't there until I installed KSFO.
