Darn you all to heck, now I've had to buy rudder pedals too :)I'll be using Saitek all the way with the yoke, throttle quadrant, and soon to arrive pedals, hopefully the NGX will arrive before the pedals, otherwise I'll have to play with either the 'other NGX' or the 744-8i. Grrrrr

I am using CH yoke and pedals, TrackIR4 and 2x 19" monitor " but working on expanding with a cockpit from opencockpit."

I like to multi-task during a flight so having a yoke attached to the desk all the time was not practical. So I got the Saitek X52-Pro and Saitek Pedals.

Haven't purchased the NGX yet, wondered if it will work with my PFC Jetliner console, column yoke and rudder peddals. Can the NGX be configured through FSUIPC?

I have a Thrustmaster Warthog. Has anyone got a good setup with the NGX yet. T.A.R.G.E.T is just not intuitive for me and i want to take advantage of all the switches etc. Can anyone help?

I set mine up through the FSX controller settings, bypassing TARGET (and also FSUIPC, per PMDG's advice). Working fine so far. My setup is a bit arbitrary and I'm also using it for piston aircraft, so this arrangement may not work for you. But for what it's worth: Joystick:7 and 9 buttons: elevator trim down and trim up Throttle:6 = F24 = F13 = F3 (I use this for the A2A Stratocruiser)7 = arm spoilers9 = spoiler toggle11 = increase mixture12 = decrease mixture14 = gear toggle15 = TOGA22 = flaps up incrementally23 = flaps down incrementally26 = carb heat toggleSlider axis = prop pitch And of course, left throttle axis for Engine 1 throttle, right throttle axis for Engine 2 throttle (prop and mixture are global) There are a lot of buttons and switches still available and I suppose I'll figure out what to do with them eventually. Calibration is through FSX. All sensitivities maximum, all null zones minimum. All button repeats (where applicable) at high, except for the elevator trim, which is set about halfway - the full setting was too sensitive. All button references are from the printed Thrustmaster manual. Again, this setup may not work for you but I hope it gets you started.

Many thanks Alan_A :) great help and much appreciated. Had FSX for years and never really bothered with setting up controls properly until i got this bit of hardware for A-10 DCS . I know that sounds ridiculous and i cant think of any excuses for it :) The TO/GA button is shift/cntr/g or something how would i assign that to a button or an axis or something? do i have to delve into target?

Glad it's helpful. I'm the opposite - I've been through many controllers, often in multi-controller setups, using FSUIPC to create different profiles. At one point I was using the Logitech G940 with custom profiles through FS Force. It was all fun, but I finally got tired of all the complexity. I settled on the Warthog for the precision (amazing - have never had a controller like it) and was happy to just do a single set of assignments through FSX and essentially forget about it. There are compromises (like flying a 737 with a joystick for example) but everything we do in FSX is compromised in some way, and in the end precision mattered to me above everything else. The end result is I don't have to worry about dozens of profiles, and I'm doing better landings than ever - including my first manual landing in the NGX last night. Once you get it running you'll have a great time with it. Enjoy!

I did a couple of touch and go's at Gatwick this afternoon using the Warthog and i found it very comfortable (i was going to say easy but i was sweating) it is by far the best bit of kit i have purchased in years and it took me awhile to get the funds together for it but it was well worth it. The only frustration i have is to be able to use the switches in other sims. For instance it would be quite handy to use the "path/alt-hdg/alt" switch for the landing gear in the NGX with it's 3 way switch function. Anyway no worries it's not the end of the world and im sure if i get my head round the target stuff i will sort this out. Thanks again :)

There might be a way to do that through FSUIPC but I'm not expert enough to know what it is. For the moment I'm just using the FSX gear toggle, then mousing the gear handle into the neutral position after takeoff. Gets the job done, but not elegant. Maybe a more experienced hand will chime in about it.
