August 4, 201114 yr Pointless it may be, but I have to say I do not find this one any where nearly as pathetic as some of them. If the pointless threads were all like this, I'd be happy... All the "PMDG members are online" or "when will it arrive" posts are just plain, you said it, pathetic... 737Guy's real world experience on the plane will no doubt be an interesting source of info in the weeks/months coming, if he continues to stick around here. All they had to do was say "Hey guys we plan on releasing at 2200Z, if all goes well with an update at 2130Z to confirm that we are on time or will change the release date/time : problem solved". But all of this nonsense marketing hype to the massive audience of perhaps 25,000 people is really silly. Mark. Mark CYYZ

August 4, 201114 yr No doubt I am just fuelling the fires... Look what happens when a developer makes a statement about an estimated release date... hundreds of people flooding the forum and nearly everyone slowly disappointed that they have spent an entire day destroying their F5 keys... heaven knows what would happen with release hour information! I am mostly looking forward to that surprise of "its out" in an e-mail or something, or randomly visiting a site. I certainly see no need personally to be the first one to download and post the fact... Information overload, I think they call it... one of the reasons I hate Twitter and Facebook... then again, that is just me... Looking forward to reading your "I am currently downloading it" reports... followed by "the installer is currently at 55%" and so on... If it comes out over the weekend, I'll buy at the first convenient opportunity... Have fun as you wait! August 4, 201114 yr If too many people are going to purchase at the same time then it's going to crash anyway if they can't handle the load. Besides this type of general release day statement of an unknown time just drives endless traffic all day on Avsim which is maybe what the hope is as well.
