How did this make it out of testing?

It's nice that you talk about getting great stuff. I can get FPS like that in mid air or at default airports as well. But we're talking about addon airports. I have the same system as just about all of the other guys complaining about FPS on this forum also. There is a serious issue here when PMDG uses Flightbeam's SFO in some of it's images but the flying public can't get around that airport at faster than a crawl. I have every right to rant.
I'm not denying your right to rant and rave, but I think there is a little ignorance on your behalf as the options to optimize performance are almost endless. These frames i mentioned at at UK2000 Heathrow, Active skyX, FSRealTime, Ultimate Traffic 2, and a KAcars program running! PMDG didn't lie about anything when it comes to this beauty

Working fine on my q9650 with 4 gig and nvidia 560tiFps dip to 20-25 on ground at airports. 30 to 40 in air. More importantly, it all remains smooth.

I did several flights during the day-time, that was running acceptably fine. When I did a flight at night, hope it would do equally as good, but nope, approximately 8-10 frames dropped. I was running at about 10-12 FPS on arrival. My system specs aren't too bad (not cutting edge as well), but I just don't understand what is causing this slowness. I event went to OC my CPU, which is something I've never done in the past because I want my computer to last. For the NGX, I have broken my all-time rule. I'm not complaining about PMDG's product, I rather would like to see how my system runs compare to others, and hope someone would help me out, and not just say; have you read this have you read that. I've read all there is to read (so I think) and yet still can't get it performing smoothly all the time. What can I do guys?

Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

Yest, your individual poor experience indicates conclusively that this product is crap. Nevermind all those reporting that they're getting good performance and enjoying the product. Your system is the end all be all of pc's, and is perfectly tuned. You would probably receive a better response if, instead of coming on here and making ridiculous accusations and unreasonable demands that generalize your individual experience to the community as a whole, you try to take advantage of the vast knowledge users of this forum have. Perhaps an approach of "Hey guys, this isn't working for me, what are you doing differently than I am?" would actually help you arrive at your desired end state. And you wouldn't look silly.
Took the words right out of my mouth!Excellent!

Out of curiosity Chris, whats you video card?
9800 GTX. I was led to believe the GPU wasn't that big of a difference maker.

Look, i have a 3 years old dual core, and i run 25-30 fps inside vc at a default airport and around 15 fps average at an Aerosoft airport. That's with 20% Ai traffic and scenery at medium. At think it's a good compromise. There must be something wrong with your set-up. And calm down a bit, you come on a bit agressive here, that will not help anything. This add-on is a HUGE step forward wich uses a FS platform that was never really well designed to begin with. I hope you can sort this out, you would not want to miss on this awsome product. Al.
I have a pretty old dual core myself getting about half the fps you mention. How did you do that?

Best regards, happy flying,

I would do all of that, but everything I would be saying has already gone asked and unanswered. I'm with the guy above here, I've read this stuff. I've been around the forums for a while. I've read the ******* thread several times. I've tried this stuff guys, it doesn't really do all you think it does.

It's not. FSX runs almost as well on my on-board graphics card that is total junk compared with my main card! Compare this to a flight sim that really does use the graphics card properly where using the on-board card causes it to run at 0.5 FPS (yes, really), vs 50 FPS maxed out with my main card (and the sim is heavier than FSX in EVERY respect). FSX is junk. Best regards,Robin.

Chris Virgilio, Can you post your specs please? What sort of frames are you getting in the VC and 2D? Craig Phillips

Listen.. All that rant is useless. There are thousands of happy customers out there. If you really want to fix it simply ask for help or submit a support ticket. Obviously there is something you don't know and you'll have to ask to find it out. 99% chance it's your fault. Wanna bet your money? Spending money on new harware does not gives you any right at all, only more responsibilities. If you buy a dog you have to feed it and learn to take care of it. If you buy a new computer you have to learn everything about it in order to get the best performance out of it. And by all means.. Relax! Your post is full of hate but lacks any relevant information. So here's a question: I currently have both Win 7 64-bit and FSX running on an Corsair 120gb SSD. I also have 300 GB Velociraptor drive that I used to run FSX on before I bought the SSD. Is running both windows and FSX off the SSD the best way to go? Or should I spilt them and put one on the velociraptor? -Chris Virgilio

Its a mystery. I have a great system, build from the ground up, followed NickN's setup letter for letter and I get 15 to 20 on the ground, 25-30 in the air with the NGX. Now granted my settings are very high and I do have lots of addons but still not getting 30 all the time. Mark.
