And after PMDG B777 ?

Featured Replies

If someone did intelligent google search he/she would not come up with idiotic statement that Boeing is supported by the government because their tax rate is only 8%..../... But if Boeing has been "subsidized" by the government to the tune of around $3 bln (this is what Airbus claimed in their case before the WTO) then WTO found that Airbus was subsidized to the tune of $25 bln. Clearly these two numbers are world apart and this is where the real meat of the story is.
Sorry to come back on the subject but arguments like these should not be left unchallenged. Michael, what you're saying sounds like : "Okay, Boeing cheated, but Airbus cheated even more, therefore only Airbus should be punished" Of course, nobody should have the bad taste to mention the Boeing officials having to resign or even serving time in jail for defrauding their own government in the first round of the infamous KC-X tanker competition. I think patriotic pride should be left aside in these forums and we should concentrate on aviation. Rgds, Bruno

Wonder whether PMDG will make an update or whether they will do the 777-9 when it's ready...?

Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

It's not that we don't like older airplanes (RSR is thinking about restoring a DC-3 in real life!) it's that they just don't sell - even the MD-11 was hugely affected by the fact that a lot of simmers thought it was "old" and wouldn't buy it. I can believe that Ryan. Though I dont think it is too old and after having a tinker with a friends its very definately next on my purchase list now I have a better rig. I am also looking forward to the ngx 600-700. If the 747 was brought up to the standard of the ngx I would definately buy this again for fsx. I had it on fs9 and was my favourate for a long time. All that said I agree that fsx is in dire need of a good airbus. I personally would like to see an a320 or a380 and as far as I am concerned now after purchasing the ngx and seeing the md-11 no other developer could match what PMDG are capable of. Raising the bar that high is somewhat bittersweet as It has put me off flying anything else.

OMG you are fussing over wingflex?? FGS you fly from the cockpit, so I dont think the pilot would be looking at the wings all the time. Seriously, if thats your major concern in life then I worry for you.
I'm guessing that was aimed at me.I don't spend $$$ on scenery and top PC parts just to look at it from the cockpit. Some Sim Pilots, like myself do watch the hills and clouds roll by via the wing view. After you've hit the A/P it gets pretty boring from then on in.Don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself. If my little post got you worked up so badly you need to push back from the computer and get a life mate.

PMDG will build the NG "Pogo Stick" :) I have early design information and before signing an NDA it will include flashy tassels, stainless steel spring, and custom 7.1 surround sound.... :) LOL if it bares the PMDGname I will buy it...!

I was just thinking about how there was virtually no 717 for FS. I think that would be awesome, but I understand that they're not a real popular aircraft. I'd love a 757/767 or even a 787. Maybe because the 757 and 767 have the same type rating and cockpit they could do both in a package? Maybe an MD-80/90 pack? I'm not a big fan of Airbus so personally I'd rather not see that. If anything Airbus I'd say the 330.

i don t like Airbus very much but... after the 777 and Dash8 i would like to see the A330 with the PMDG quality, i would buy it and all the expansionsabout the 744 with the NGX technology, it would be nice, but in my opinion, it can wait, since the 747-8 is the new variation of the 747, it should be first. My oppinionGuilherme

I used to live in Japan during the 90s and flew from Nagoya to Tokyo Narita a couple of times on JAL 747-400s. The flight was about 45 mins or so. Also used to go to LAX-Seoul-Nagoya via Korean Air 747. Even the Seoul-Nagoya leg would be on the 747 as well, sometiems the same one that flew from LAX, demonstrating the 747s flexibility between long and short hauls. It's use as a high density short haul aircraft is popular in Asian areas.
That would almost certainly be a 747-400D, which is optimised for short haul. It's a very different animal from the standard 747-400, having no winglets, a top deck has more seats and windows where the galley is on normal 747s, some additional strengthening to allow for more frequent cycles, and much higher density seating in the main cabin. The only one of those you can get for FSX is the AeroSim one, which is a nice model, but it's a fairly 'lite' simulation of the real thing as far as the systems it includes is concerned, offering nowhere near the realism of the PMDG bird. However the PMDG 747 update will cover that and more! I'll want to see the 747-400, 747-400D, 747-400 Combi, 747-400F, 747-400ER, 747-400ERF, 747LCF, and maybe a 747-400BCF. Also the 747-8 will be a whole seperately simulated thing.

FS desperatly needs a quality Airbus, of any model. The wilcos are garbage. The aerosoft A320 has potential, but lacks system depth. Would love to see a A330 or a 380. The 747 update could be more difficult than anticipated, due to the cockpits being hardcoded into the model...but we can hope. I don't know if I'd pay another 75 dollars for what amounts to an asthetic update. In that event, PMDG should offer a hefty discount to current 747-400x owners...

Apart from the A300, we've got a very high quality one of those for FS. Al

Besides, the A300 is extremely manly. I love seeing the Fed Ex A300s rocket out of GSO in the school parking lot early in the morning.

Yup, it's also able to shrug off hits from SA-7 SAMs; well it is so long as there is a very skillful crew on board. Al
