August 31, 201114 yr Hi guys, Just throwing something out there. In my opininon there are a handful of amazing add ons for FSX that make it a joy and take it to that 'special level' Now with big name developers jumping on aboard, will we see xplane addons for the following 1) FSrecorder2) EZDOK..come on this would be amazing!!3) ASA weather Feel free to add more, but Xplane would need these kind of fantastic add ons( edited by administrator ) Phil Mosley - Rotation Films http://youtube.com/rotationfsx @RotationFilms

I don't know how similar it is to EZDock, but it's been around for a while and improvements are in development. A virtual walk-around has been possible in x plane as far back as V7. No plug ins needed.3) The X Plane 10 weather engine has been greatly improved over X Plane 9 and it's extremely realistic. XP9's weather is already very realistic (as has been reviewed in PC-Pilot and rated higher than FSX's weather). It's highly unlikely HiFi will come over. If they do, and Jim Skorna comes with them, I'll definitely have a chuckle.

December 7, 201411 yr Commercial Member X-Camera is nearly and identical replacement for EzDok for X-Plane and it is in active development. https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/x-camera/
December 8, 201411 yr Phil there's this:http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/xplane.html The original says X-Plane 9 and there is no indication if REX4 works with X-Plane 10. Need to make that more clear on the website. I assume it's for XP9 only. i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1

On the link that you quoted me, it specifically states X-Plane 9 all over the website, not sure what you are referring to. Also, the REX4 website states that REX4 Texture Direct is for FSX and Prepar3D. Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
December 8, 201411 yr Are there any plans for REX in X-Plane? I love it in P3D, but I can't help feeling that X-Plane is a better sim for me so that is most likely where I'll put my money in the future
December 8, 201411 yr Take a look at SkyMaxx. Its not a direct replacement for REX as it does not have weather injection. What it does provide is great looking, three dimensional, moving rotating clouds. They cast shadows on the land and reflect in water. Also for many people SkyMaxx boosts FPS. It really is one of the go to add ons for X-Plane Jason E Row Follow me on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/JasonRowPhotography
December 8, 201411 yr I already own SkyMaxx and it's with out any doubt a must have addon. What I like about REX is that it's not only cloud textures, but also water, runways and so on... Especially the water textures could do with some enhancement in XPX...
December 8, 201411 yr Moderator I already own SkyMaxx and it's with out any doubt a must have addon. +1. Skymaxx Pro is fantastic and has become one of those addons you need to have for X-Plane, just like REX is for FSX. The thing I like about Skymaxx Pro is that the clouds are real 3D clouds, they move with the wind and also actually significantly improve framerates compared to the default clouds in X-Plane. Also, it has some very nice effects such as cloud shadows, water reflections, god rays, camera glare which all makes the sim much more immersive.

I won't support non-multiplatform add-ons for X-Plane. It's against X-Plane's philosophy.
December 8, 201411 yr I must be the black sheep here then, because I think SMP looks good for VFR flying but even at max draw distance I prefer the coverage of the default clouds at higher altitudes. Different strokes for different folks, and still a good purchase and worth the investment. SMP has come on a long way since it's first iteration, and I think we'll see even more progress in the future.
December 8, 201411 yr SkyMAXX is powered by Sundog Software's Silverlining tech. They also happen to make Triton Ocean. I would like to believe they are (SkyMAXX and Sundog) working on improving the water behavior in X-Plane 10.

Dude, keep in mind SkyMaxx Pro is just me and another guy working out of our houses in our spare time. SkyMaxx Pro involves something like 100,000 lines of native code. It's not just a collection of textures, so every platform has its own quirks we need to deal with. We just don't have the resources to provide technical support for every flavor of Linux that's out there. That's all it is. Hopefully that will change as X-Plane's user base continues to grow! Thanks for all the kind words guys. It's what motivates us to keep making it better over time.
